A need to understand. A hypothesis is a proposed explanation for something that doesn't make sense. It must be tested. Is it consistent with what we do know for sure? How do you explain John introducing himself three times? There are three different writers named John who had something to do with the Apocalypse.

A bitter belly. John the Apostle ate the original Apocalypse written by John the Baptist. He was told to prophesy again. He added Jesus and the seven churches. In Acts 19 we learn about the followers of John the Baptist in Ephesus. They didn't know Jesus. A third John would make sure this little book would be included in the bible.

Only an astronomer could say John Chrysostom, who was in Ephesus at the beginning of the fifth century, wrote the Apocalypse. Only R. H. Charles would include something like this in his book
"Studies in the Apocalypse". Really.

A Testimony
A shewing to His servants (plural). His servant, (singular), John who bare record is tied to John the Apostle in his gospel. Start at the beginning. The first verse. This is a clue that there is more than one John. Three different Johns. One who bare record, one to the churches, and one who is also your brother. This is just the first clue.

A Man Named Jerome
A new translation. The Vulgate would become the official bible of the Church and it would include the Apocalypse. At the beginning of the fifth century Jerome was finishing his bible and John Chrysostom was in Ephesus replacing seven bishops. Augustine didn't want another bible. He had words with Jerome. An interesting time.

A writer on the isle called Patmos. Many said it wasn't written by John the Apostle. Others said it didn't belong in the bible. Someone had to convince Jerome it was written by the Apostle because he included it in the Vulgate. John Chrysostom was the right person, at the right place, and at the right time. Really.

A temple where "there shall not be left here one stone upon another". Jesus wants us to pay attention to the "abomination of desolation". What is in the holy place now? Only Daniel knows and he also knows beasts. So what makes a beast a beast? A good question. There must be something special about a beast of Daniel.

A temple where "there shall not be left here one stone upon another". Jesus wants us to pay attention to the "abomination of desolation". What is in the holy place now?

The holy place was the altar in the temple in Jerusalem. The purpose of that liturgy, of that one holy place, was fulfilled, and so God destroyed it with a Gentile army.

The holy place now is disperse, distributed, like the multiplication of the loaves and fish, it's all around the world, on all seven continents. Because the altar in Jerusalem was like X marks the spot, for the altar of the cross, upon which Jesus our passover was sacrificed, offering to God the Father.

What He did as our high priest, offering Himself on that altar, He now does in an unbloody manner at every Mass, offering Himself again and again to the Father as sacrifice for our sins, while we constantly celebrate and commemorate His one eternal (i.e., continuous) sacrifice, death and Resurrection, as His Church, celebrating the liturgy of our high priest Jesus, a priest forever of the order of Melchizedek, who offered bread and wine, back before the liturgy of the temple in Jerusalem was given to Moses in the law.

Only Daniel knows and he also knows beasts. So what makes a beast a beast? A good question. There must be something special about a beast of Daniel.

A holy place desolated. The beasts of Daniel have been named: Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. They all had something to do with the temple except Persia. What is preventing the third temple will point to the fourth beast. The Dome of the Rock. Islam is the fourth beast of Daniel. Different from all the rest.
