no and I don't trust anyone who says God talks to them

You're really missing out on the "so that they may have life and have it more abundantly" bit aren't you?

Chrys,

God is always speaking to His creation, 24/7, drawing us to Him, calling us to His Christ; He uses our consciences to warn us against sin, etc...

His Word in us speaks to us of joy and of promise, of heaven and glory.

Maybe you just don't listen?

you are not the first one to suggest I am not listening
-should I listen to you because you say God talks to you?
-God doesn't talk to me
-so
-I have to look for signs
-I have to make sense out of what I see
-I have to ask for guidance
-I have to listen to others who might make sense

I didn't suggest you weren't listening; I asked.

You know that at the end of this age there will be lying sign and wonders...right?

2 Thessalonians 2:8-10 New King James Version (NKJV)
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Be careful of signs.

Do you make sense out of what you see based on God's Word?

Who do you ask for guidance?

Who are you going to listen to?

???

I think I know how to listen
-I really need patience to continue listening to those who don't make sense
-would you trust someone who trusts trump?

I wouldn't trust ANYONE who doesn't walk, talk, live, give, love or exhibit any of the fruits of the Holy Spirit's indwelling ~

Galatians 5:22-23 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Who are you going to listen to?
everyone who makes sense
-the hindus taught me that it is all an illusion of a non dual nature
-the buddhists taught me that we were once part of the whole
-spinoza taught me that we still are
-kant taught me that we have to think for ourselves
-islam taught me Jesus is not God
-that didn't make sense
-marx taught me that religion is the problem
-that didn't make sense
-some here say God talks to them
-that doesn't make sense
-others here say we don't have free will
-that doesn't make sense
-others here say we don't have to work
-that doesn't make sense
-are you listening to them?
-are you challenging them?

What a mess-"the fruits of the Holy Spirit's indwelling"-you

The bible is a book of details; as such, we are to pay attention to details:

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

"fruit"-singular

Vs.

"fruits"-plural-you.

I know, I know....Means the same thing....does not matter.....

Cricket....cricket...cricket...

So, you trust Muslims,JW's, Hindu's.....who exhibit "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, temperance?"

They do not have the indwelling Holy Spirit.

And I believe Paul used "fruit" singular because there was not "one" greek word that covered all of those things (like "hand" covers palm, fingers and thumb).

Wrong. The fruit, singular, is used, to emphasize that is is not "acts"-plural.

Get it? Rhetorical Q.

"They do not have the indwelling Holy Spirit."-you

That is not what you "argued," sport.

"I wouldn't trust ANYONE who doesn't walk, talk, live, give, love or exhibit any of the fruits of the Holy Spirit's indwelling ~ "-you

Slower: A Muslim..................can exhibit "walk, talk, live, give, love or exhibit any of the fruits of the Holy Spirit." You have no way to distinguish as to whether they are saved, i.e., whether they are a Christian, in contrast to a lost Muslim.....,by your standard, unless you have an X-Ray Machine.

My point-you determine what a Christian is, by what they do, instead of who they are, by their testimony.

Nice change the argument....Slick.....real slick....
