Constantinople, the capital of a Christian empire that lasted one thousand years, has seven hills, seven Roman Empire dynasties, and ten Islamic dynasties. ties them all together. Search the bible for 'bottomless pit'. The NIV uses the word 'abyss' which you also find in Luke. Chapters 9, 11, 17, and 20 are tied together and must fit with any interpretation. Time to take a look at the two witnesses in chapter 11.

Together they built the second Temple. Zerubbabel was the governor, the state. History gives us two empires where the Church and State worked together. The Byzantine Empire and the Holy Roman Empire. Revelation 11:4 has the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks. It fits.
