I noticed the Pro had noise reduction and seemed set out in a way to make it easier on someone with little experience in photo editing.

I don't tend to center and it's funny, but I have a crop where Jack is toward the left of center (I tend to do three or four edits and mull them a while). I've been busy so mostly what I had were straight shots. I like the one that's a little too washed out, but I have a better original (just not in b&w) that I'm working with.

It's an interesting process.

There's a freeware trial version which never expires, and has most of the functionality of the full version. But if you like it, it's a good thing to go ahead and buy it, to thank these guys for providing the free version.

If you want to do something to open up shadows and extend dynamic range in a really simple format, try this:

The "natural" option looks normal enough that people wouldn't suspect the image is tonemapped.

Try it out. It's free, too. Martin will accept donations, of course.
