Our current understanding of astronomy is incomplete? -gasp- Say it ain't so! Obviously the logical conclusion is that every other aspect of astronomy is equally imperfect and realize that the universe is a recent creation by the God of Abraham. After all, that's what the unprecedented state of Galaxy NGC 6240 means, right? It spells out in Hebrew the message "Made by God (tm)", right?
What point are you trying to make- this article seems to take a lot of time to suggest that black holes might not be real. To say the least this is not a PoV embraced by many astronomers and is frankly just stupid.

Elegant hypotheses can definitely be wrong. That's why all hypotheses are subject to substantial burdens of proof before they are accepted as theories.
And sometimes new discoveries overturn (or at least challenge their validity).
There are number of reasons for people to begin to doubt the validity of long established cosmic theories that are not isolated, but have been woven into a comprehensive scheme.
Thus, this is no small matter, except to the general public who do not realize the turmoil in cosmological science that would result if the current overall scheme has to be abandoned.
