:BRAVO:

Praise the Lord!

There shall be showers of blessing.
Ezekiel 34:26

:poly:

There Shall be Showers of Blessing

There shall be showers of blessing: this is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing, sent from the Savior above.
Showers of blessing, Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling, but for the showers we plead.

Mercy Drops

It’s hard to carry a full bucket of water with a steady hand, some spilling will occur…When the gardener carries a full bucket of water while walking the path to the place in need of much water, the flowers along the pathway will benefit has well from the spilling drops of water that splash on them, and after getting those unexpected refreshing drops of water, their drooping buds lift their heads, and the blossoms show forth the radiant beauty that is in them, all because of a few drops of water.

In the hymn, “There Shall be Showers of Blessing,” the chorus reads, “Mercy drops round us are falling.” Do we think of ourselves and those mercy drops in the light of little blessings? Little blessings like spilling drops of water, drops of water spilled along the way on others as we go to tend someone or some specific task; there times when we are those mercy drops, those small mercy drop blessings that we give to others. Nothing major, a momentary blessing, that bit of mercy, that kind touch that revives the weary soul, lifts the sagging spirit, and refreshes heart and spirit.

We can do it because of the fruit of the spirit in us is watered and renewed everyday by the Holy Spirit. The daily filled cup we carry is meant to overflow and touch lives, in some instances like sprinkle if but for a moment those “Mercy drops” regardless of how small will be a blessing to others Dare we say, “Fill My Cup Lord,” so “He will fill your heart today with overflowing.”

But how are we when we do not feel blessed to the full and overflowing? Still another will come along, like the gardener who carries a water filled bucket, filled with golden drops that will spill out a blessing, a blessing of love, mercy and kindness, then we are revived, what precious time of reviving, Hallelujah! Remember He forgets not His own, and calls us by name, He anoints us to be a blessing, to radiate the loveliness and truth of the altogether lovely Jesus. We are those mercy drops of cheer, encouragement, help, hope, comfort, and love You know, I think I hear the foot steps of our Great and Glorious Gardener.

Praise the Lord!

When the enemy shall come in like a flood,
the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

Isaiah 59:19

:poly:

Sound the Battle Cry!

Sound the battle cry! See, the foe is nigh;
Raise the standard high for the Lord;
Gird your armor on, stand firm every one;
Rest your cause upon His holy Word.

Strong to meet the foe, marching on we go,
While our cause we know, must prevail;
Shield and banner bright, gleaming in the light,
Battling for the right we ne’er can fail.

O! Thou God of all, hear us when we call,
Help us one and all by Thy grace;
When the battle’s done, and the vict’ry’s won,
May we wear the crown before Thy face.

Rouse, then, soldiers, rally round the banner,
Ready, steady, pass the word along;
Onward, forward, shout aloud Hosanna!
Christ is Captain of the mighty throng
.

Praise the Lord!

This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4

:poly:

Victory Ahead

When the hosts of Israel led by God,
Round the walls of Jericho softly trod,
Trusting in the Lord,
They felt the conqueror’s tread,
By faith they saw the victory ahead.

David with a shepherd’s sling and five stones,
Met the giant on the field all alone,
Trusting in the Lord, he knew what God had said,
By faith he saw the victory ahead.

Daniel prayed unto the Lord thrice each day,
Then unto the lion’s den led the way,
Trusting in the Lord, he did not fear or dread,
By faith he saw the victory ahead.

Often with the carnal mind I was tried,
Asking for deliverance oft I cried,
Trusting in the Lord, I reckoned I was dead,
By faith I see the victory ahead.

When like those who’ve gone before to that land,
By death’s river cold and dark I shall stand.
Trusting in the Lord, I will not fear or dread,
By faith I see the victory ahead.

Victory ahead, victory ahead,
Through the blood of Jesus, victory ahead.
Trusting in the Lord, I hear the conqueror’s tread,
By faith I see the victory ahead.

:BRAVO:

Praise the Lord!

Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16

You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men;
clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us,
written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God,
not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.

2 Corinthians 3:2-3

:poly:

Let Others See Jesus in You

While passing thro’ this world of sin,
and others your life shall view,
Be clean and pure without, within;
Let others see Jesus in you.

Your life’s a book before their eyes,
They’re reading it thro’ and thro’
Say, does it point them to the skis,
Do others see Jesus in you?

Then live for Christ both day and night,
Be faithful, be brave and true,
and lead the lost to life and Christ.
Let others see Jesus in you.

Let others see Jesus in you,
Yes, let others see Jesus in you.
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true;
Let others see Jesus in you.

Praise the Lord!
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know. John 14:1-4
For…We have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 Corinthians 5:1

:poly:

Not Made With Hands

Christ went a building to prepare,
And ’twill be decked with jewels rare,
Not made with hands.

Put on the armor of our God,
And take the path our Captain trod,
Not made with hands.

Keep fighting sin, that awful foe,
Until you hear the trumpet blow,
Not made with hands.

Then come up, children, get your crown,
When you have laid your armor down,
Not made with hands.

That city’s built with precious stone,
Within we’ll gather around the throne,
Not made with hands.

I know! Yes, I know,
I have another building,
It's not made with hands.

Praise the Lord!

I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
John 14:3

:poly:

Till Jesus Comes

“Till Jesus comes,” we’ll labor, watch and pray,
In His dear service spend each waiting day,
And while His work our loving hands employ,
We upward gaze, and watch for Him with joy.

“I’ll come again,” we read the message sweet,
Its words of cheer to weary hearts repeat;
Tell of His blood that cleanseth from all sin,
The joy He gives, the victory within.

O Bride of Christ, be faithful to thy Lord,
To every nation speed His parting word;
Be filled with faith, and keep the heart aglow,
Let all the world your hope in Jesus know.

The toil and suffering here will soon be o’er,
And with the Lord we’ll be forevermore;
Go labor on, and for His coming pray;
O blessed hope! we’ll see His face some day.

For He’ll come, yes, He’ll come,
His promise to fulfill;
The hope of His appearing:
Our hearts with rapture fill;
We’re waiting for the dawn
Of earth’s millennial morn,
When we’ll greet our glorious bridegroom,
King of kings.

Proverbs 6:10

Sunday Morning Praise

I’ll Count My Blessings

I lift my heart today in praise to Him who loves me so,
Whose mercy crowneth all my days, and makes my cup o’erflow.
O have I loved Him as I should for all His blessings free?
Praise God who giveth naught but good, for He is good to me!

I thank Him for unclouded skies For love beyond my kin,
That when my path in shadow lies, the sunshine comes again.
I thank Him for the hopes fulfilled for every answered plea,
That though life was not all I willed, my God is good to me!

I go to meet another day, with faith no doubt can dim,
God reigneth, and I will not fear, but trust my way with Him.
Then if that way be bright or dark, let peace unshaken be!
And let me, like the soaring lark, sing God is “good to me!”

I’ll count my blessings, count them o’er and o’er,
I’ll tell of my Father’s goodness, I will love Him more;
I’ll count my blessings, bountiful and free, can I count them all?
Yes I’ll tell that my God is good to me!

Praise the Lord!

A faithful man shall abound with blessings.
Proverbs 28:20

:poly:

Countless Blessings

Crowned and crowded with God’s blessings has my pathway been,
Every moment from His bounty something new;
I have tried to count them over, but when I begin,
I can only stop and marvel at the view.

From His storehouse overflowing, like a king He gives,
And with lavish hand my every need supplies;
Untold mercies every day from Him my heart receives,
And to comprehend His goodness vainly tries.

Tho’ His love I cannot fathom, or His mercies count,
Or my debt of gratitude to Him repay,
Hearts by sin and sorrow broken everywhere are found,
I can pass my blessings on to cheer their way.

Pressing onward, ever onward, never looking back
Till I reach my home in yonder sun-bright clime;
With my way to Him committed, nothing shall I lack
For I have the Blesser with me all the time.

Countless blessings, countless blessings,
And blessings more to follow, praise His name!
I am lost in love and wonder, for they far the stars outnumber,
And blessings more to follow, praise His name.

When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.

Psalm 128:2

:poly:

Work is Sweet, For God Has Blest

Work is sweet, for God has blest honest work with quiet rest,
Rest below and rest above in the mansions of His love,
When the work of life is done, when the battle’s fought and won.

Work ye, then, while yet ’tis day, work ye Christians, while ye may,
Work for all that’s great and good, working for your daily food.
Working whilst the golden hours, health, and strength, and youth are yours.

Working not alone for gold, not the work that’s bought and sold,
Not the work that worketh strife, but the working of a life
Careless both of good or ill, if ye can but do His will.

Working ere the day is gone, working till your work is done,
Not as exchangers at marts, but as fitteth honest hearts,
Working till your spirits rest with the spirits of the blest.

Praise the Lord!
So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt … And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD…Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided…But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea...So the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians. Exodus 13:18; Exodus 14:10, 21, 29-30

:poly:

By faith…Israel…passed through the Red Sea as by dry land,
whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.

Hebrews 11:29

The Red Sea Place

Have you come to the Red Sea place in your life,
Where, in spite of all you can do,
There is no way out, there is no way back,
There is no other way but through?
Then wait on the Lord with a trust serene
Till the night of your fear is gone;
He will send the wind, He will heap the floods,
When He says to your soul, "Go on."

And His hand will lead you through - clear through -
Ere the watery walls roll down,
No foe can reach you, no wave can touch,
No mightiest sea can drown;
The tossing billows may rear their crests,
Their foam at your feet may break,
But over their bed you shall walk dry shod
In the path that your Lord will make.

In the morning watch, beneath the lifted cloud,
You shall see but the Lord alone,
When He leads you on from the place of the sea
To a land that you have not known;
And your fears shall pass as your foes have passed,
You shall be no more afraid;
You shall sing His praise in a better place,
A place that His hand has made.

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all you lands!

Psalm 100:1-2

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

Psalm 95:2

:poly:

O Make A Joyful Noise

O make a joyful noise, ye lands,
And serve the Lord with fear;
With gladness wait His high commands,
And with a song draw near.

Know that the Lord is God alone,
He made us and will keep,
For His we are, and not our own,
His people and His sheep.

With glad thanksgiving throng His gates,
His goodness to proclaim;
Within His courts, where mercy waits,
Give thanks and bless His Name.

For He is good, and time shall prove
His mercies ever sure,
And while the ages onward move
His truth shall still endure.

Not Always on the Mount

Not always on the mount may we
Rapt in the heav’nly vision be:
The shores of thought and feeling know
The Spirit’s tidal ebb and flow.

Lord it is good abiding here,
We cry, the heav’nly presence near:
The vision vanishes, our eyes
Are lifted into vacant skies.

Yet hath one such exalted hour
Upon the soul redeeming power,
And its strength, through after days,
We travel our appointed ways,

Till all the lowly vale grows bright,
Transfigured in remembered light,
And in untiring souls we bear
The freshness of the upper air.

The mount for vision: but below
The paths of daily duty go,
And nobler life therein shall own
The pattern on the mountain shown.

Blind Bartimeus

Son of David! hear my cry;
Savior, do not pass me by;
Touch these eyelids veiled in night,
Turn their darkness into light.
Son of David, hear my cry!
Savior, do not pass me by.

Though the proud my voice would still,
They may chide me if they will,
Yet the more I’ll pray for grace,
Only here shall be my place.
Son of David, hear my cry!
Savior, do not pass me by.

Though despised by all but Thee,
Thou a blessing hast for me;
Faith and prayer can never fail,
Lord, with Thee I must prevail,
Son of David, hear my cry!
Savior, do not pass me by.

Glorious vision! heav’nly ray!
All my gloom has passed away;
Now my joyful eye doth see,
And my soul still clings to Thee,
Thine the glory evermore,
Mine to worship and adore.

Sunday Morning Praise

I Will Ever Sing Thy Praises

I will ever sing Thy praises, mighty God and gracious King;
Loud my heart its tribute raises, and to Thee my psalms I sing;
Thou art King of all creation, every land and every nation;
“Thousand, thousand thanks to Thee, mighty God,” my song shall be!

All the people shall proclaim Thee, sing Thy praise from shore to shore;
Every human heart shall name Thee, God and King forevermore;
On Thy throne in heaven vaulted, in Thy majesty exalted,
“Thousand, thousand thanks to Thee, mighty God,” my song shall be!

When at last my feet have found Thee, when at last I am Thy own;
When the ransomed hosts surround Thee, on Thy great eternal throne;
When in yonder land of glory angels tell redemption’s story,
“Thousand, thousand thanks to Thee, mighty God,” my song shall be!

More Than Conquerors

Through the cleansing blood of the dying Lamb,
Through the power of grace and the precious name,
Through the light that beams from the Morning Star,
More than conquerors, conquerors we are.

Who shall sever us from the Savior’s love,
Or shall blot our names from Life’s book above?
Neither present things, nor the things to come,
Shall defeat our souls of the heav’nly home.

More than conquerors! There our captain stands,
While our names are graven upon His hands;
Though the powers of darkness against us frown,
We shall win the fight, and shall wear the crown.

More than conquerors, more than conquerors,
Through the cleansing blood of the dying Lamb,
More than conquerors! more than conquerors,
Through the pow’r of grace and the precious name.

Dark Threads The Weaver Needs

My Life is but a weaving
between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colors
He worketh steadily.

Oft times He weaveth sorrow
And I, in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper,
And I the under side.

Not til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver's skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

He knows, He loves, He cares,
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives His very best to those
Who leave the choice with Him.

The Willow and the Oak

I saw, when the wind swept over the mead,
The willow that stands by the brook;
Bending low, as, with pitiless force, the storm
Threw down the unbending oak.

The storm had passed by, the willow uprose,
Her branches in beauty outspread;
But the monarch of trees, in his pride cast down,
Lay prone on the earth and dead.

O Christians, look up! life’s storms will soon pass;
Rejoice ye with sorrow low bowed;
Our Lord in His hand holds the lightning’s shaft,
His smile is behind the cloud.

And thou, who art proud, O turn ye in time,
Nor fall as the desolate tree!
God’s mercy, His infinite love are thine,
Awaiting, inviting thee.

Bend low till the storm passeth over,
The sun will shine out by and by;
Bend low till the storm passeth over,
And the stars twinkle out in the sky.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Isaiah 43:2-3

Not Down, But Through

“When Thou passest through the waters,”
Deep the waves may be and cold,
But Jehovah is our refuge,
And his promise is our hold;
For the Lord himself has said it,
He, the faithful God and true;
“When you come to the waters
You will not go down, but through.”

Seas of sorrow, Seas of trial,
Bitter anguish, fiercest pain,
Rolling surges of temptation
Sweeping over heart and soul...
They will never overflow us
For we know His work is true;
All His waves and all His billows
He will lead us safely through.

Threatening breakers of destruction,
Doubt’s insidious undertow,
Will not sink us, will not drag us
Out to ocean depths of woe;
For His promise will sustain us,
Praise the Lord, whose word is true!
We will not go down, or under,
For He says, “You will pass through.”

All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
Psalm 42:7

:poly:

His Billows

They are His billows, whether they go o’er us,
Hiding His face in smothering spray and foam;
Or smooth and sparkling, spread a path before us,
And to our haven bear us safely home.

They are His billows, whether for our succor
He walks across them, stilling all our fear;
Or to our cry there comes no aid nor answer,
And in the lonely silence none is near.

They are His billows, whether we are toiling
Through tempest-driven waves that never cease,
While deep to deep with clamor loud is calling;
Or at His word they hush themselves in peace.

They are His billows, whether He divides them,
Making us walk dryshod where seas had flowed;
Or lets tumultuous breakers surge about us,
Rushing unchecked across our only road.

They are His billows, and He brings us through them;
So He has promised, so His love will do.
Keeping and leading, guiding and upholding,
To His sure harbor, He will bring us through.

Until He Comes

Keep Thou me ever hungry, Lord,
Until I famish for Thy Word
Thy Word, which is my meat, my bread,
Thy Word, which feeds whenever read.

Keep Thou me ever thirsty, Lord,
Stay not Thy hand till Thou hast poured
Thy living water in my cup
Which I am humbly holding up.

Keep me dissatisfied, dear Lord;
Use Thou Thy Spirit’s shining sword
To pierce my foolish self-esteem
And rouse me from my empty dream.

Keep me awake, that I may hear
Thy bugles calling, loud and clear.
Stir Thou my sluggish soul to fight
For Thee beneath Thy banner bright.

Yea, this my prayer, that I may be
Hungry and thirsty, Lord, for Thee,
Dissatisfied with self, awake!
And this I ask for Jesus’ sake.
