:BRAVO:

Praise the Lord!

:poly:

Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
Titus 2:13

We Have This Hope

We have this hope that burns within our hearts,
Hope in the coming of the Lord.
We have this faith that Christ alone imparts,
Faith in the promise of His Word.
We believe the time is here,
When the nations far and near
Shall awake, and shout and sing
Hallelujah! Christ is King!
We have this hope that burns within our hearts,
Hope in the coming of the Lord.

:poly:

He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they will gather together His elect from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other
.
Matthew 24:31

One Day

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,
One day the skies with His glories will shine;
Wonderful day, my beloved ones bringing;
Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine!
Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried, He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever;
One day He’s coming O glorious day!

:poly:

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

Until Then

My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is but a stepping stone,
Along a path that's winding always upward,
This troubled world is not my final home.
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I'll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold my Savior,
Until the day God calls me home.

Praise the Lord!

You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.

Isaiah 26:3
...and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7

:poly:

There’s a Deep, Settled Peace in My Soul

I cannot tell thee whence it came,
This peace within my breast;
But this I know, there fills my soul
A strange and tranquil rest.

Beneath the toil and care of life,
This hidden stream flows on;
My weary soul no longer thirsts,
Nor am I sad and lone.

I cannot tell the half of love,
Unfeigned, supreme, divine,
That caused my darkest inmost self
With beams of hope to shine.

I cannot tell thee why He chose
To suffer and to die,
But if I suffer here with Him
I’ll reign with Him on high.

There’s a deep, settled peace in my soul,
There’s a deep, settled peace in my soul,
Tho’ the billows of sin near me roll,
He abides, Christ abides
.

:poly:

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

Constantly Abiding

There’s a peace in my heart that the world never gave,
A peace it cannot take away;
Though the trials of life may surround like a cloud,
I’ve a peace that has come here to stay!
Constantly abiding, Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding, rapture divine;
He never leaves me lonely, whispers, O so kind:
“I will never leave thee,” Jesus is mine.

:BRAVO:

Praise the Lord!
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” Revelation 21:3-5

:poly:

No Tears in Heaven

No tears in heaven, no sorrows given,
All will be glory in that land;
There'll be no sadness, all will be gladness,
When we shall join that happy band.

Glory is waiting, waiting up yonder,
Where we shall spend an endless day;
There with our Savior, we'll be forever,
Where no more sorrow can dismay.

No tears in heaven fair, no tears, no tears up there,
Sorrow and pain will all have flown;
No tears in heaven fair, no tears, no tears up there,
No tears in heaven will be known.

:poly:

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.
1 Corinthians 13:12

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.
Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by!

:poly:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Praise the Lord!
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God.
1 John 4:7

:poly:

Sunday Morning Praise

Though I Speak

Though I speak in every language, prophesy for God above,
Though I understand all mysteries,I am nothing without love.
Though through faith I can move mountains, give the poor all that I gain,
Though I’m burned alive for Jesus, without love, my life is vain.

Love is patient, kind, and selfless, envies not, nor boasts in pride,
Is not rude or quickly angered, never holds a grudge inside.
Love does not delight in evil, but with truth rejoices e’er;
Trusts, protects, and hopes forever, perseveres and always cares.

One day prophecies will finish, tongues will in that day be stilled;
Knowledge, too, will pass forever, when God’s Word is all fulfilled.
Now we only know a fraction, and as children think and speak;
When perfection comes upon us, childish ways no more we’ll seek.

Now we see as in a mirror, in a blurred and hazy way.
But reflections soon will vanish, face to face we’ll see some day.
In that day we’ll all know fully, as we’re known by God above;
Till then, faith, hope, love still linger, but the greatest far is love.

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three;
but the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13

:poly:

Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love.
Jeremiah 31:3

Thy Ceaseless, Unexhausted Love

Thy ceaseless, unexhausted love, unmerited and free,
Delights our evil to remove, and help our misery.
Thou waitest to be gracious still, Thou dost with sinners bear,
That, saved, we may Thy goodness feel, and all Thy grace declare.
Faithful, O Lord, Thy mercies are! A rock that cannot move!
A thousand promises declare Thy constancy of love.
Throughout the universe it reigns, unalterably sure;
And while the truth of God remains, the goodness must endure.

Romans 15:13

Trusting and Hoping

I am rejoicing, trusting and hoping;
Looking to Jesus, Savior divine;
He is my refuge; softly He whispers,
I have redeemed thee, child, thou art Mine.

I am rejoicing, trusting and hoping;
He is my Savior; what shall I fear?
He like a shepherd leadeth me gently,
Close by the waters flowing so clear.

I am rejoicing, trusting and hoping;
Into the mansions waiting above,
Clothed in His brightness, He will receive me,
Heir to His kingdom, child of His love.

I am rejoicing, ever rejoicing,
Trusting and hoping all the day long;
Looking to Jesus, only to Jesus;
He is my refuge, comfort and song.

:poly:

Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
John 14:1
O LORD my God, in You I put my trust.
Psalm 7:1

Trusting Thee

I am trusting, Lord, in Thee; though the night is cold and dark,
And the raging, stormy sea threatens to engulf my bark.
Long the journey, rough the main, still the harbor far away
And I toil in numbing pain, through the billows’ icy spray.
Though Thy purposes seem dark, Thou art faithful to perform.
And Thou bid’st me to embark, and cross over in the storm.
So, obeying Thy command, I am trusting, Lord, in Thee.
I am weary, far from land, but salvation I shall see.

Give Me, O Lord, A Heart of Grace

Give me, O Lord, a heart of grace,
A voice of joy, a shining face,
That I may show, where’er I turn,
Thy love within my soul doth burn.

Though life be sweet and joy be dear,
Be in my mind a quiet fear,
A patient strength in pain and care,
An enmity to dark despair.

A tenderness for all that stray,
With strength to help them on the way,
A cheerfulness, a heav’nly mirth
Brightening my steps along the earth.

:poly:

Of His fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.
John 1:16

Lord, Thou Hast Promised Grace for Grace

Lord, Thou hast promised grace for grace
To all who daily seek Thy face;
To them who have, Thou givest more
Out of Thy vast, exhaustless store.
Help us, O Lord, that we may grow
In grace as Thou dost grace bestow;
And still Thy richer gifts repeat
Till grace in glory is complete.

Praise the Lord!

To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
Show me Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths.

Psalm 25:1, 4

:poly:

Grace and Truth Shall Mark the Way

Grace and truth shall mark the way where the Lord His own will lead,
If His Word they still obey and His testimonies heed.
For Thy name’s sake hear Thou me, for Thy mercy, Lord, I wait;
Pardon my iniquity, for my sin is very great.

He who walks in godly fear in the path of truth shall go;
Peace shall be his portion here, and his sons all good shall know.
They that fear and love the Lord shall Jehovah’s friendship know;
He will grace to them accord, and His faithful covenant show.

Ever are my longing eyes on the Lord, whose watchful care,
When my foes their plots devise, keeps my feet from every snare.
Turn to me, Thy grace impart, I am desolate indeed;
Great the troubles of my heart, save Thou me, O Lord, I plead.

Look on mine afflicted state, freely all my sins forgive;
Mark my foes, their cruel hate, keep my soul and let me live.
Shame me not; I hide in Thee, truth and right preserve me still;
Mark Thy people, Lord my God, save Thou from every ill.

:poly:

For this is God, our God forever and ever;
He will be our guide even to death.

Psalm 48:14

When Day’s Shadows Lengthen

When day’s shadows lengthen, Jesus, be Thou near;
Pardon, comfort, strengthen, chase away my fear;
Love and hope be deepened, faith more strong and clear.
When the night grows darkest, and the stars are pale,
When the foemen gather In death’s misty vale,
Be Thou sword and buckler, be Thou shield and mail.
Blessed warfare over, endless rest alone;
Tears no more, nor sorrow, neither sigh nor moan,
But a song of triumph round about the throne.

Praise the Lord!
...Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:28-31

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. — I, the LORD…will hold Your hand; I will keep You.
Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 42:6

:poly:

Jesus, Hold My Hand

As I travel through this pilgrim land
There is a friend who walks with me,
Leads me safely through the sinking sand
It is the Christ at Calvary.

This would be my prayer dear Lord each day
To help me do the best I can,
For I need Thy light to guide me day and night
Blessed Jesus hold my hand.

Let me travel in the light divine
That I may see the blessed way,
Keep me that I may be wholly Thine
And sing redemption's song some day.

I will be a soldier brave and true
And ever firmly take a stand,
As I onward go and daily meet the foe
Blessed Jesus hold my hand.

Jesus hold my hand I need thee every hour,
Through this pilgrim land protect me by thy power.
Hear my feeble plea O Lord look down on me,
When I kneel in prayer I going to meet you the,
Blessed Jesus hold my hand.

:poly:

Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him.
Matthew 14:31

Dear Savior, Stretch Thy Loving Arms

Dear Savior, stretch Thy loving arms above the stormy sea,
Where, tossed ’mid dark and angry waves, the mariner calls to Thee.
O as Thou didst on Galilee the waters calm at will,
When torrents raised by evil breath the sinking ship did fill,
So now in my storm shaken soul awake with strength divine,
And whisper ‘peace’ to warring winds, and let Thy glory shine.
Be Thou my Pilot through the mists and storms that darkly rise,
As o’er life’s vast and dangerous sea my frail bark lightly flies.

The kindness and love of God our Savior.
Titus 3:4

Growing Dearer Each Day

How sweet is the love of my Savior!
’Tis boundless and deep as the sea;
And best of it all, it is daily
Growing sweeter and sweeter to me.

I know He is ever beside me!
Eternity only will prove
The height and the depth of His mercy,
And the breadth of His infinite love.

Wherever He leads I will follow,
Thru sorrow, or shadow or sun;
And though I be tried in the furnace,
I can say, Lord, Thy will be it done.

Some day face to face I shall see Him,
And oh, what a joy it will be
To know that His love, now so precious,
Will forever grow sweeter to me!

Sweeter and sweeter to me,
Dearer and dearer each day;
Oh, wonderful love of my Savior,
Growing dearer each step of my way!

:poly:

His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:10

Pardoning Grace

Sweeter than all is the love of the Savior,
Dearer by far than earth’s jewels so rare,
Flooding my soul by the grace of His favor,
Filling my heart with the spirit of prayer.
Pardoning grace the Master has spoken,
Pardoning grace has now made me whole;
On Calv’ry’s brow His poor heart was broken
Pardoning grace for my at times faltering soul.

Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
Galatians 6:7-8

:poly:

You’ll Reap Whatsoever You Sow

Sow flowers, and flowers will blossom
Around you wherever you go;
Sow weeds, and of weeds reap the harvest,
You’ll reap whatsoever you sow.

Sow blessings, and blessings will ripen,
Sow hatred, and hatred will grow;
Sow mercy and reap sweet compassion,
You’ll reap whatsoever you sow.

Sow love, and its sweetness uprising
Shall fill all your heart with its glow;
Sow hope, and receive its fruition,
You’ll reap whatsoever you sow.

In faith sow the word of the Master,
A blessing He’ll surely bestow;
And souls shine like stars for your crowning,
You’ll reap whatsoever you sow.

Preach Christ in His wonderful fullness,
That all His salvation may know;
Reap life thro’ the ages eternal,
You’ll reap whatsoever you sow.

You’ll reap whatsoever you sow,
Yes, you’ll reap whatsoever you sow,
The harvest is certainly coming,
You’ll reap whatsoever you sow.

:poly:

And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Galatians 6:9

Weary Not In Doing Well

Let us be patient, patient,
Think of the growing grain,
How long it lies in the darksome earth,
Nurtured by sun and rain.
Let us be patient, patient,
Waiting, praying, striving on the way,
Something to do for the Master,
Something for Him to say,
Not weary along the way.

The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few.
Matthew 9:37

:poly:

Reapers are Needed!

Standing in the market places all the season through,
Idly saying, “Lord, is there no work that I can do?”
O how many loiter, while the Master calls anew
“Reapers! reapers! Who will work today?”

Ev’ry sheaf you gather will become a jewel bright
In the crown you hope to wear in yonder world of light.
Seek the gems immortal that are precious in His sight!
“Reapers! reapers! Who will work today?”

Morning hours are passing, and the ev’ning follows fast;
Soon the time of reaping will forevermore be past.
Empty handed to the Master will you go at last?
“Reapers! reapers! Who will work today?”

Lift thine eyes and look upon the fields that stand
Ripe and ready for the willing gleaner’s hand,
Rouse ye, O sleepers! Ye are needed as reapers!
Who will be the first to answer, “Master, here am I.”
Far and wide the ripened grain is bending low,
In the breezes gently waving to and fro,
Rouse ye, O sleepers! Ye are needed as reapers!
And the golden harvest days are swiftly passing by.

:poly:

Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
John 20:21

So Send I You

So send I you to labour unrewarded,
To serve unpaid, unloved, unsought, unknown,
To bear rebuke, to suffer scorn and scoffing.
So send I you to toil for Me alone.
So send I you to bind the bruised and broken,
Over wandering souls to work, to weep, to wake,
To bear the burdens of a world a-weary,
So send I you to suffer for My sake.
So send I you to hearts made hard by hatred,
To eyes made blind because they will not see,
To spend, though it be blood to spend and spare not,
So send I you to taste of Calvary…
“As the Father hath sent me, so send I you.”

Another Day Begun!

Another day begun!
Lord, grant us grace that we, before the setting of the sun,
Redeem the time for Thee.

Another day of toil!
To Thee we yield our powers; keep Thou our souls from guilty soil
Through all the passing hours.

Another day of fear!
For watchful is our foe, and sin is strong, and death is near,
And short our time below.

Another day of hope!
For Thou art with us still, and Thine almighty strength can cope
With all who seek our ill.

Another day of grace
To help us on our way, one step towards the resting-place,
The eternal Sabbath-day.

2 Corinthians 1:3

God of All Comfort, Calm and Fair

“God of all comfort,” calm and fair
Stretch the broad plains beneath Thine eye;
And silent, through the hazy air,
Rise the blue hills to meet the sky.
Yet when we strive, our lips can frame
No words to speak Thy matchless love,
So far the honor of Thy Name
Lies all our highest thoughts above.
Read Thou within our silent hearts,
The songs they vainly seek to raise,
And count their grateful tears for prayer,
Their trembling joy for tuneful praise.

More Love to Thee, O Christ

More love to Thee, O Christ, more love to Thee!
Hear Thou the prayer I make on bended knee.
This is my earnest plea: More love, O Christ, to Thee;
More love to Thee, more love to Thee!

Once earthly joy I craved, sought peace and rest;
Now Thee alone I seek, give what is best.
This all my prayer shall be: More love, O Christ to Thee;
More love to Thee, more love to Thee!

Let sorrow do its work, come grief or pain;
Sweet are Thy messengers, sweet their refrain,
When they can sing with me: More love, O Christ, to Thee;
More love to Thee, more love to Thee!

Then shall my latest breath whisper Thy praise;
This be the parting cry my heart shall raise;
This still its prayer shall be: More love, O Christ to Thee;
More love to Thee, more love to Thee!

Be a Cheering Light

As thro’ life you journey, be a cheering light,
Like the sun at morning, beautiful and bright;
Shine in gloomy places, as you pass them by,
Cheer the lives that sorrow, gladden those who sigh.

Like a beacon burning on a hill at night,
You may shed around you happiness and light;
Try to help the weary, thro’ the dreary days,
Try to guide the wayward, from forbidden ways.

Steadily and brightly, shining day by day,
You will scatter blessings all along the way;
Less of care and sorrow, many hearts will know,
If you gleam and glisten everywhere you go.

Daily, hourly, be a cheering light,
Glowing, gleaming, beautiful and bright;

Now from the world withdrawn,
For fellowship with Thee;
May each, O Lord, before Thy throne,
From earthly cares be free.

Help us to worship as we ought,
And thus conclude the day.

Our strength may we renew,

Don’t Forget to Pray

When the day is dark and lonely, don’t forget to pray;
Prayer will make your pathway brighter, drive the clouds away.
For your tender heav’nly Father listens when you call,
And in loving wisdom answers, trust Him for it all.

When the sun is brightly shining on your pilgrim way,
Let the Savior share your gladness, don’t forget to pray.
For He longs to walk beside you, your must trusted friend,
And abide thro’ storm and sunshine to your journey’s end.

O the bliss this wondrous friendship will your soul afford,
Dwelling thus in closest union with your loving Lord;
Till in Heav’n you shall behold Him, see Him face to face,
And throughout eternal ages praise Him for His grace.

Breathe out all your joys and sorrows in His listening ear;
Is your way a maze before you? He will make it clear.
Walking thus, and talking with Him in communion blest,
In the secret of His presence, He will give you rest.

Psalm 130:1

From the depths my prayer ascendeth unto God on high;
Hear, O Lord, my supplication and my cry.
None can stand unscathed and blameless in Thy judgment just,
But the contrite in Thy mercy humbly trust.
Lord, my hope is in Thy promise, and I wait for Thee
More than they who watch for morning, light to see.
With the Lord is tender mercy, and redeeming love;

Praise the Lord!

This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of Heaven.
Genesis 28:17

:poly:

Blest Hour, When Mortal Man Retires

Blest hour, when mortal man retires
To hold communion with his God;
To send to Heaven his warm desires,
And listen to the sacred word.

Blest hour, when God Himself draws nigh,
Well pleased His people’s voice to hear;
To hush the penitential sigh,
And wipe away the mourner’s tear.

Blest hour, for, when the Lord resorts,
Foretastes of future bliss are given;
And mortals find His earthly courts
The house of God, the gate of Heaven.

Hail, peaceful hour! supremely blest
Amid the hours of worldly care;
The hour that yields the spirit rest,
That sacred hour, the hour of prayer.

And when my hours of prayer are past,
And this frail tenement decays,
Then may I spend in Heaven at last
A never-ending hour of praise.

How Sweet the Hour

How sweet the hour of praise and prayer,
When our devotions blend,
And on the wings of faith divine
Our songs of joy ascend!
’Tis then we hear in tones more clear
The gracious promise giv’n,
That, though we part from friends on earth,
We all shall meet in Heav’n at last,
Through faith in Jesus’ precious blood,
We all shall meet in Heav’n.

Sunday Morning Praise

Sing On

Sing on, ye joyful pilgrims, nor think the moments long;
My faith is heav’nward rising with every tuneful song;
Lo! on the mount of blessing, the glorious mount, I stand;
And looking over Jordan, I see the promised land.

Sing on, ye joyful pilgrims, while here on earth we stay;
Let songs of home and Jesus beguile each fleeting day;
Sing on the grand old story of His redeeming love,
The everlasting chorus that fills the realms above.

Sing on, ye joyful pilgrims, the time will not be long,
Till in our Father’s kingdom we swell a nobler song;
Where angels there are waiting to greet us on the shore,
We’ll meet beyond the river, where surges roll no more.

Sing on, O blissful music! With every note you raise,
My heart is filled with rapture, my soul is lost in praise.
Sing on with blissful music! With every note you raise,
My heart is filled with rapture, my soul is lost in praise.

Oh, give thanks to the LORD!
Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples!

1 Chronicles 16:8

Give Thanks to God the Lord

Give thanks to God the Lord; upon His name now call.
Make known among the people on earth what He has done for all.
Sing praise to Him, now sing; His wondrous acts proclaim.
Rejoice, all you who seek the Lord; come glory in His name.
Look to the Lord’s great strength; remember all His deeds.
His judgments are in all of the earth; He is the Lord indeed.
His covenant e’er will stand; His oath He’ll ne’er forget.
A thousand generations pass; God’s word continues yet.

Evening Praise the Lord

:BRAVO:

Praise the Lord!

God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night.
Job 35:10

You Can Have a Song in Your Heart in the Night

You can have a melody down in your heart,
When it's aching, almost breaking.
Even tho' the sorrow makes the teardrop start,
You can have a melody down in your heart.

Do not let your worries drive your song away,
Though tomorrow brings its sorrow,
Just remember after night time comes the day.
Do not let your worries drive your song away.

Soon the night will pass and morning brings the day;
I am longing for its dawning,
until then we'll labor here and watch and pray,
Soon the night will pass and morning bring the day.

You can have a song in your heart in the night
After every trial, after every mile.
Anyone can sing when the sun is shining bright,
But you need a song in your heart at the night.

At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God,
and the prisoners were listening to them.

Acts 16:25

Paul and Silas

Night had fallen on the city, and the streets at last were still,
Where the noisy throng the day-long, did the air with shoutings fill.
And the weary wayworn travelers preaching Jesus thro’ the land,
Were in deepest dungeon darkness, at the magistrates’ command.
Oh, there’s not a cell so lonely, but a song may echo there;
Oh, there’s not a night so cheerless, but there’s potency in prayer.
Sing, oh sing, thou weary pilgrim, song will bring thee heav’nly peace,
Pray, oh pray, thou burdened prisoner, God will give thee sweet release.
