Praise the Lord!

And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” Revelation 5:9

:poly:

I am Redeemed
(Used by permission)

I was a slave in a foreign land,
So very far from the Father's loving hand;
He rescued me, one glorious day,
He brought me out, paid a debt I could not pay.

I am redeemed, I am redeemed,
Jesus loosed the chains of sin and set me free;
I am redeemed, I am redeemed,
Jesus loosed the chains of sin and set me free.

Still I live, in a foreign land,
Now I'm free according to redemptions plan,
Soon I'll join the robed in white, the redeemed,
We'll sing a song the holy angels, cannot sing

"Some glorious morning they will come from all nations, from every generation. Side by side they will march into the celestial city of Jehova and in perfect harmony they will begin humming a brand new song. A song composed by God Himself, arranged for His children. And as the saved by grace approach the land of their dreams, the host of Heaven will step aside. Even the angels will be silent. For they cannot sing this new song. For this song is reserved for voices that once cried out for a redeemer. Those washed in the blood of the Lamb."
I am redeemed, by love divine,
Glory, glory Christ is mine, He's mine,
All to Him, I now resign;
Jesus loosed the chains of sin and set me free.
My Jesus loosed the chains of sin and set me free.

Praise the Lord!

With everlasting joy on their heads.
They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Isaiah 35:10
For the former things have passed away.
Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new.

Revelation 21:4-5

Joy and Triumph Everlasting

Joy and triumph everlasting
Hath the heav’nly Church on high;
For that pure immortal gladness
All our feast days mourn and sigh:
Yet in death’s dark desert wild
Doth the mother aid her child;
Guards celestial thence attend us,
Stand in combat to defend us.

Here the world’s perpetual warfare
Holds from Heav’n the soul apart;
Legioned foes in shadowy terror
Vex the Sabbath of the heart.
O how happy that estate
Where delight doth not abate!
For that home the spirit yearneth,
Where none languisheth nor mourneth.

There the body hath no torment,
There the mind is free from care,
There is every voice rejoicing,
Every heart is loving there.
Angels in that city dwell;
Them their King delighteth well:
Still they joy and weary never,
More and more desiring ever.

There the seers and fathers holy,
There the prophets glorified,
All their doubts and darkness ended,
In the Light of Light abide.
There the saints, whose memories old
We in faithful hymns uphold,
Have forgot their bitter story
In the joy of Jesus’ glory.

Some Sweet Day

There is a land our eyes shall see,
Some sweet day, some sweet day;
Where we shall dwell, dear Lord, with Thee,
Some sweet day, some sweet day.

From care and toil we shall be free,
Some sweet day, some sweet day;
Eternal joy in Heav’n ’twill be,
Some sweet day, some sweet day.

Around the throne we’ll sing His praise,
Some sweet day, some sweet day;
Aloud the great hosannas raise,
Some sweet day, some sweet day.

We’ll meet the loved ones gone before,
Some sweet day, some sweet day;
To know and greet them as of yore,
Some sweet day, some sweet day.

Some sweet day, some sweet day,
We shall dwell in Glory Land;
Some sweet day, some sweet day
With the ransomed we shall stand.

Just over in the glory land,
I’ll join the happy angel band,
Just over in the glory land;
Just over in the glory land,
There with the mighty host I’ll stand,
Just over in the glory land.

Praise the Lord!

For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7
The revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love.
Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.

1 Peter 1:7-8
Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
John 20:29

:poly:

Blessed Are They That Believe

Come to the fountain of mercy and live,
Come, and a pardon receive;
Drink of the water that Jesus will give,
Freely to those that believe;
Weary and burdened with sorrow,
Sweet is the message to thee,
Learn of the meek and the lowly,
Come, heavy laden to Me.

Happy the nation whose God is the Lord;
Hearing in meekness and love
Counsels of wisdom and truth in His Word,
Looking for comfort above;
He is their rock and salvation,
He is their strength and their song,
Onward from glory to glory,
Leading them gently along.

Look unto Jesus, ye regions of earth,
Victor of death and the grave,
Though He was humble, and lowly His birth
He is the mighty to save.
Why should we wander in darkness?
Why to the world should we cling?
Hope, like a bird, is before us,
Pluming her beautiful wing.

Come to the clear flowing river,
Drink of its waters forever,
Hungry and thirsty, O! never,
Blessed are they that believe!

Praise the Lord!

Come and dine.
John 21:12

:poly:

Come and Dine

Jesus has a table spread
Where the saints of God are fed,
He invites His chosen people, “Come and dine”;
With His manna He doth feed
And supplies our every need:
O ’tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time!

The disciples came to land,
Thus obeying Christ’s command,
For the Master called unto them, “Come and dine”;
There they found their heart’s desire,
Bread and fish upon the fire;
Thus He satisfies the hungry every time.

Soon the Lamb will take His bride
To be ever at His side,
All the host of Heaven will assembled be;
O ’twill be a glorious sight,
All the saints in spotless white;
And with Jesus they will feast eternally.

“Come and dine,” the Master calleth, “Come and dine”;
You may feast at Jesus’ table all the time;
He who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine,
To the hungry calleth now, “Come and dine.”

Praise the Lord!

He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves,
but for Him who died for them and rose again.

1 Corinthians 5:15

:poly:

None of Self, and All of Thee

O the bitter shame and sorrow,
That a time could ever be,
When I let the Savior’s pity
Plead in vain, and proudly answered,
“All of self, and none of Thee!”

Yet He found me; I beheld Him
Bleeding on the accursed tree,
Heard Him pray, “Forgive them, Father!”
And my wistful heart said faintly,
“Some of self, and some of Thee!”

Day by day His tender mercy,
Healing, helping, full and free,
Sweet and strong, and ah! so patient,
Brought me lower, while I whispered,
“Less of self, and more of Thee!”

Higher than the highest heavens,
Deeper than the deepest sea,
Lord, Thy love at last hath conquered:
Grant me now my supplication,
“None of self, and all of Thee!”

Praise the Lord!

He must increase, but I must decrease.
John 3:30

:poly:

Less of Self and More of Jesus

Less of self and more of Jesus,
Less of man and more of God;
Earnest prayer of many workers
In the vineyard of the Lord.
Less of self and more of Jesus
Girds the soul with holy pow’r,
Brightens life, and sweetens labor,
In the use of every hour.

Less of self and more of Jesus,
Pleads the saint in earnest prayer,
For he labors souls to rescue
From the tempter’s cruel snare.
Self concealed, faith works its wonders,
Trusts the merit of the blood;
Claims for Christ the sinner’s ransom,
Leads the penitent to God.

Less of self and more of Jesus,
As in social life we meet;
May the beauties of salvation
Others lead to Jesus’ feet.
Not in vain exalt we Jesus,
Not in vain hide self away;
Great the joy and sweet the pleasure
Heaven grants us on our way.

Less of self and more of Jesus;
Less of man and more of God;
Earnest prayer of many workers
In the vineyard of the Lord.

Praise the Lord!

It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High.

Psalm 92:1

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Psalm 95:1

:poly:

Sunday Morning Praise

Sing to the Lord, the Rock of Our Salvation

Sing to the Lord, the rock of our salvation!
Sing to the Lord a song of joy and praise!
Kneel in His presence, lowly in thanksgiving!
The lofty psalm upraise!

The land and sea are His, for He has made them,
The valleys of the earth, its rugged hills;
Corn-land and vineyards and the olive orchards,
All these His mercy fills.

And we, His people, sheep of His own pasture,
Lambs of His bosom, whom His hand has fed,
Shall we not hearken to our kindly shepherd
By whom our feet are led?

Oh, harden not your hearts, like those who wandered
The desert forty years to Jordan’s strand;
Humble and comforted, O chosen people,
Enter the promised land.

My Box of Rocks

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold … The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted. Psalm 18:2, 46

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His Tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. Psalm 27:5

For You are my rock and my fortress; therefore, for Your name's sake, lead me and guide me. Psalm 31:3

From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2

In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Psalm 62:7

Be my strong refuge, to which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress. Psalm 71:3

Then they remembered that God was their rock, and the Most High God their Redeemer. Psalm 78:35

To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Psalm 92:15

But the LORD has been my defense, and my God the rock of my refuge. Psalm 94:22

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Psalm 95:1

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.” 1 Samuel 7:12

Praise the Lord!

With one mind striving together…and not in any way terrified by your adversaries.
Philippians 1:27-28

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 2:3

:poly:

We are Soldiers of Christ

We are soldiers of Christ, who is mighty to save,
And His banner the cross is unfurled;
We are pledged to be faithful and steadfast and brave
Against Satan, the flesh, and the world.
We are brothers and comrades, we stand side by side,
And our faith and our hope are the same;
And we think of the cross on which Jesus has died,
When we bear the reproach of His name.

At the font we were marked with the cross on our brow,
Of our grace and our calling the sign;
And the weakest is strong to be true to his vow,
For the armor we wear is divine.
We will watch ready armed if the Tempter draw near,
If he comes with a frown or a smile;
We will heed not his threats, nor his flatteries hear,
Nor be taken by storm or by wile.

We will master the flesh, and its longings restrain,
We will not be the bond slaves of sin,
The pure Spirit of God in our nature shall reign,
And our spirits their freedom shall win.
For the world’s love we live not, its hate we defy,
And we will not be led by the throng;
We’ll be true to ourselves, to our Father on high,
And the bright world to which we belong.

Now let each cheer his comrade, let hearts beat as one,
While we follow where Christ leads the way;
’Twere dishonor to yield, or the battle to shun,
We will fight, and will watch, and will pray.
Though the warfare be weary, the trial be sore,
In the might of our God we will stand;
Oh! what joy to be crowned and be pure evermore,
In the peace of our own fatherland.

When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.

Isaiah 59:19

:poly:

Sound the Battle Cry

Sound the battle cry! See, the foe is nigh;
Raise the standard high for the Lord;
Gird your armor on, stand firm every one;
Rest your cause upon His holy Word.

Strong to meet the foe, marching on we go,
While our cause we know, must prevail;
Shield and banner bright, gleaming in the light,
Battling for the right we ne’er can fail.

O! Thou God of all, hear us when we call,
Help us one and all by Thy grace;
When the battle’s done, and the vict’ry’s won,
May we wear the crown before Thy face.

Rouse, then, soldiers, rally round the banner,
Ready, steady, pass the word along;
Onward, forward, shout aloud Hosanna!
Christ is Captain of the mighty throng.

I really love the lyrics to this song by the band Tenth Avenue North...

My children sign it for deaf people as part of a children's ministry called Signs of the Spirit.

There's a girl in the corner
With tear stains on her eyes
From the places she's wandered
And the shame she can't hide

She says, "How did I get here?
I'm not who I once was.
And I'm crippled by the fear
That I've fallen too far to love"

But don't you know who you are,
What's been done for you?
Yeah don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

Well she tries to believe it
That she's been given new life
But she can't shake the feeling
That it's not true tonight

She knows all the answers
And she's rehearsed all the lines
And so she'll try to do better
But then she's too weak to try

But don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

'Cause this is not about what you've done,
But what's been done for you.
This is not about where you've been,
But where your brokenness brings you to

This is not about what you built,
But what He built to forgive you,
And what He built to make you know.

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

You've been remade
You've been remade.
You've been remade.
You've been remade.

Praise the Lord!

Lift up your eyes all around, and see:
They all gather together, they come to you.

Isaiah 60:4

:poly:

Together, Lord, We Come To Thee

Together, Lord, we come to Thee, and in Thy presence bow the head;
A band of hard-pressed folk are we, who find life’s pathway rough to tread.
We bring our daily life to Thee, all soiled, and worn, and marred with sin;
Thine eyes of holy love can see each tempted life without, within.

We bring our bitterness of heart, our hate and want of charity;
We fain would choose the better part, and learn to love, dear Lord, like Thee.
We bring our care for daily bread, the fear that turns the heart to stone;
We cry to Thee; lift up our head and show us we are not alone.

We bring the faith that over all though faint and feeble, flickers still;
Increase it, Lord, that at Thy call we may our daily task fulfill.
Lord, make us pure; enrich our life with heavenly love for evermore;
Give us Thy strength to face the strife, and serve Thee better than before.

Praise the Lord!

And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Galatians 6:9
Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. Hebrews 12:2-3

:poly:

Be Not Weary

Yes! He knows the way is dreary,
Knows the weakness of our frame,
Knows that hand and heart are weary;
He, ‘in all points,’ felt the same.
He is near to help and bless;
Be not weary, onward press.

Look to Him who once was willing
All His glory to resign,
That, for thee the law fulfilling,
All His merit might be thine.
Strive to follow day by day
Where His footsteps mark the way.

Look to Him, the Lord of Glory,
Tasting death to win thy life;
Gazing on ‘that wondrous story,’
Canst thou falter in the strife?
Is it not new life to know
That the Lord hath loved thee so?

Look to Him who ever liveth,
Interceding for His own:
Seek, yea, claim the grace He giveth
Freely from His priestly throne.
Will He not thy strength renew
With His Spirit’s quickening dew?

Look to Him, and faith shall brighten,
Hope shall soar, and love shall burn;
Peace once more thy heart shall lighten;
Rise! He calleth thee, return!
Be not weary on thy way
Jesus is thy strength and stay.

Praise the Lord!

The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, their tongues fail for thirst.
I, the LORD, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
I will open rivers in desolate heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys;
I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

Isaiah 41:17-18

:poly:

A Pool in the Wilderness

The Lord Everlasting,
The Creator of All,
Giveth strength to the weary,
And lifts them that fall.

Thy God is e’er with thee,
So be not dismayed;
He will uphold thee
When thou art afraid.

When the poor are athirst,
He maketh rivers to flow;
And fountains in valleys
On them He’ll bestow.

In wilderness dry
He placeth a pool
With wellsprings of water,
Refreshing and cool.

Thou hast trusted the Lord
And walked in His ways;
May His water sustain thee
The rest of thy days!

Praise the Lord!
And he said unto them, come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. And they departed into a desert place by ship privately. Mark 6:31-32

:poly:

Come Ye Yourselves Apart

Come ye yourselves apart and rest awhile,
Weary, I know it, of the press and throng;
Wipe from your brow the sweat and dust of toil,
And in My quiet strength again be strong.

Come ye aside from all the world holds dear,
For converse which the world has never known;
Alone with me and with my Father here,
With Me and with my Father not alone.

Come, tell me all that ye have said and done,
Your victories and failures, hopes and fears;
I know how hardly souls are wooed and won;
My choicest crowns are always wet with tears.

Come ye and rest: the journey is too great,
And ye will faint beside the way and sink:
The bread of life is here for you to eat,
And here for you the wine of love to drink.

Then, fresh from converse with your Lord, return
And work till daylight softens into even:
The brief hours are not lost in which ye learn
More of your Master and His rest in heaven.

Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you.
Psalm 55:22

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7

:poly:

Does Jesus Care?

Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth or song,
As the burdens press, and the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long?

Does Jesus care when my way is dark
With a nameless dread and fear?
As the daylight fades into deep night shades,
Does He care enough to be near?

Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong;
When for my deep grief there is no relief,
Though my tears flow all the night long?

Does Jesus care when I’ve said goodbye
To the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks,
Is it aught to Him? Does He see?

Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Psalm 55:23

Jesus, I will Trust Thee

Jesus, I will trust Thee, trust Thee with my soul;
Guilty, lost, and helpless, Thou canst make me whole.
There is none in Heaven or on earth like Thee:
Thou hast died for sinners — therefore Lord for me.

Jesus, I can trust Thee, trust Thy written Word,
Since Thy voice of mercy I have often heard,
When Thy Spirit teacheth, to my taste how sweet —
Only may I hearken, sitting at Thy feet.

Jesus, I do trust Thee, trust Thee without doubt;
“Whosoever cometh, Thou wilt not cast out,”
Faithful is Thy promise, precious is Thy blood —
These my soul’s salvation, Thou my Savior God!

In Thy love confiding I will seek Thy face,
Worship and adore Thee, for Thy wondrous grace.
