:BRAVO:

Praise the Lord!

And may You hear the supplications of Your servant and of Your people…when they pray.
Hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and when You hear, forgive.

2 Chronicles 6:21

:poly:

When the Weary, Seeking Rest

When the weary, seeking rest, to Thy goodness flee;
When the heavy laden cast all their load on Thee;
When the troubled, seeking peace, on Thy name shall call;
When the sinner, seeking life, at Thy feet shall fall…

When the child, with grave fresh lip, youth, or maiden fair,
When the aged, weak and grey, seek Thy face in prayer;
When the widow weeps to Thee, sad and lone and low;
When the orphan brings to Thee all his orphan woe…

When the stranger asks a home, all his toils to end;
When the hungry craveth food, and the poor a friend;
When the sailor on the wave bows the fervent knee;
When the soldier on the field lifts his heart to Thee…

When the man of toil and care, in the city crowd,
When the shepherd on the moor, names the name of God;
When the learned and the high tired of earthly fame,
Upon higher joys intent, name the blessed name…

When the worldling, sick at heart, lifts his soul above;
When the prodigal looks back to his Father’s love;
When the proud man, in his pride, stoops to seek Thy face;
When the burdened brings his guilt to Thy throne of grace...

We ask Thee hear in love, O Lord,
In Heav’n, Thy dwelling place on high.
Hear then in love, O Lord, this our cry
In Heav’n, Thy glorious dwelling place on high.

O Songs of the Beautiful, Songs of the Blest

O songs of the beautiful, songs of the blest,
That breathe o’er the spirit the calmness of rest;
We list to their music, we echo the praise
Of Christ, our Redeemer, the Ancient of Days.

O songs of the beautiful, songs that we hear
When clouds o’er our pathway are heavy and drear;
They tell of a city no mortal hath trod,
A city whose builder and maker is God.

O songs of the beautiful, songs that we love,
That come from the homeland of Eden above;
We rise with their cadence, we join in their strain,
All harps that were silent are joyful again.

O songs of the beautiful, songs we may sing
In yonder bright palace where dwelleth our King;
Thro’ ages eternal their chorus shall roll,
“All glory to Jesus,” the light of the soul.

O songs of the beautiful, songs of the blest,
O songs of the beautiful, songs that we hear,
O songs of the beautiful, songs that we love,
O songs of the beautiful, songs we may sing.

Praise the Lord!
...Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:28-31

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. — I, the LORD…will hold Your hand; I will keep You.
Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 42:6

:poly:

Jesus, Hold My Hand

As I travel through this pilgrim land
There is a friend who walks with me,
Leads me safely through the sinking sand
It is the Christ at Calvary.

This would be my prayer dear Lord each day
To help me do the best I can,
For I need Thy light to guide me day and night
Blessed Jesus hold my hand.

Let me travel in the light divine
That I may see the blessed way,
Keep me that I may be wholly Thine
And sing redemption's song some day.

I will be a soldier brave and true
And ever firmly take a stand,
As I onward go and daily meet the foe
Blessed Jesus hold my hand.

Jesus hold my hand
I need thee every hour,
Through this pilgrim land
Protect me by thy power.
Hear my feeble plea
O Lord look down on me,
When I kneel in prayer I going to meet you the,
Blessed Jesus hold my hand.

Dear Savior, Stretch Thy Loving Arms

Dear Savior, stretch Thy loving arms above the stormy sea,
Where, tossed ’mid dark and angry waves, the mariner calls to Thee.
Upon that fierce and angry main my poor weak bark doth ride,
O what am I ’mid such strong foes without Thee by my side?

O as Thou didst on Galilee the waters calm at will,
When torrents raised by evil breath the sinking ship did fill,
So now in my storm shaken soul awake with strength divine,
And whisper ‘peace’ to warring winds, and let Thy glory shine.

Be Thou my Pilot through the mists and storms that darkly rise,
As o’er life’s vast and dangerous sea my frail bark lightly flies.
With Thee my soul securely rests from evil’s blight restored;
And isles of green and fragrant seas bring peace and sweet reward.

Praise the Lord!

Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
1 Corinthians 13:12

:poly:

When the Mists Have Rolled Away

When the mists have rolled in splendor
From the beauty of the hills,
And the sunlight falls in gladness
On the rivers and the rills,
We recall our Father’s promise
In the rainbow of the spray:
We shall know each other better
When the mists have rolled away.

Oft we tread the path before us
With a weary, hardened heart.
Oft we toil amid the shadows,
And our fields are far apart.
But the Savior’s “Come, ye blessed”
All our labor will repay
When we gather in the morning
Where the mists have rolled away.

We shall come with joy and gladness,
We shall gather round the throne.
Face to face with those that love us
We shall know as we are known.
And the song of our redemption
Shall resound through endless day
When the shadows have departed
And the mists have rolled away.

We shall know, as we are known,
Never more to walk alone,
In the dawning of the morning
Of that bright and happy day,
We shall know each other better,
When the mists have rolled away.

Praise the Lord!

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory,
just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:18

:poly:

Glory, Glory, All is Glory

Glory, glory, all is glory,
O the constant joy I see;
Not a shadow, care or sorrow
Hides my blessed Lord from me.

O the resting and communing
From the busy world apart;
While the Spirit gently whispers
Words of promise to my heart.

Glory, glory, what a Savior,
How His tender words of love
Draw me upward to the pleasures
In the Golden Land above.

Hallelujah, I shall see Him
And behold Him face to face;
There forever will I praise Him,
For the riches of His grace.

Glory, glory, all is glory,
Jesus dwelleth in my soul;
From the fullness of His mercy,
Floods of rapture o’er me roll.

Praise the Lord!

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.
2 Corinthians 4:1

:poly:

Since Through God’s Mercy

Since through God’s mercy this ministry’s ours,
Bringing men righteousness through God’s great power,
We don’t lose heart but renounce shameful ways;
We don’t deceive but the truth plainly say.
To unbelievers our message is veiled;
They are made blind by the god of this world.
But God who said, Let the dark turn to light,
Shined in our hearts with His glory so bright.

We are hard pressed on all sides but not crushed;
We are perplexed, but we never give up;
We’re persecuted but not left by God;
We are struck down, but we’re never destroyed.
We have this treasure in jars made of clay,
That God’s great power and not ours be displayed.
Within our bodies Christ’s death do we show,
That Jesus’ life in us now may be known.

We know we’ll be raised with Jesus one day;
Therefore, our trials do not cause dismay.
Though on the outside we’re wasting away,
Inwardly we are renewed day by day.
Our present troubles will soon pass away;
Eternal glory they’ll bring us some day.
We fix our eyes not on what we can see;
Only the unseen will eternal be.

Therefore we do not lose heart…while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

:poly:

O Holy Savior, Friend Unseen

O holy Savior, friend unseen, the faint, the weak on Thee may lean,
Help me, throughout life’s varying scene, by faith to cling to Thee.
Blessed with this fellowship divine, take what Thou wilt, I’ll ne’er repine;
E’en as the branches to the vine, my soul would cling to Thee.

Far from her home, fatigued, oppressed, here she has found her place of rest
An exile still, yet not unblest, while she can cling to Thee.
What though the world deceitful prove, and earthly friends and joys remove,
With patient, uncomplaining love still would I cling to Thee.

Though faith and hope may long be tried, I ask not, need not aught beside;
How safe, how calm, how satisfied, the souls that cling to Thee!
Blessed is my lot, whate’er befall, what can disturb me, who appall,
While as my strength, my rock, my all, all, Savior, I cling to Thee!

Praise the Lord!
Let not your heart be troubled…In My Father's house are many mansions…I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1

:poly:

There is a House Not Made With Hands

There is a house not made with hands,
Eternal and on high;
And here my spirit waiting stands,
Till God shall bid it fly.

Shortly this prison of my clay
Must be dissolved and fall;
Then, O my soul! with joy obey
Thy heav’nly Father’s call.

’Tis He, by His almighty grace,
That forms Thee fit for Heav’n;
And, as an earnest of the place,
Has His own Spirit giv’n.

We walk by faith of joys to come,
Faith lives upon His Word;
But while the body is our home,
We’re absent from the Lord.

’Tis pleasant to believe Thy grace,
But we had rather see;
We would be absent from the flesh
And present, Lord, with Thee.

2 Corinthians 4:18

For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7

:poly:

By Faith in Christ I Walk With God

By faith in Christ I walk with God,
With Heav’n, my journey’s end, in view;
Supported by His staff and rod,
My road is safe and pleasant too.
I travel through a desert wide
Where many round me blindly stray;
But He vouchsafes to be my Guide,
And will not let me miss my way.

Though snares and dangers throng my path,
And earth and hell my course withstand;
I triumph over all by faith,
Guarded by His almighty hand.
The wilderness affords no food,
But God for my support prepares;
Provides me every needful good,
And frees my soul from wants and cares.

With Him sweet converse I maintain,
Great as He is I dare be free;
I tell Him all my grief and pain,
And He reveals His love to me.
Some cordial from His Word He brings,
Whene’er my feeble spirit faints;
Be this my choice, O Lord, to walk
With Thee, my Guide, my Guard, my Friend.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Sunday Morning Praise

God, Whose Love is Always Stronger

God, whose love is always stronger
Than our weakness, pride and fear,
In your world, we pray and wonder
How to be more faithful here.
Hate too often grows inside us;
Fear rules what the nations do.
So we pray, when wars divide us:
Give us love, Lord! Make us new!

Love is patient, kind and caring,
Never arrogant or rude,
Never boastful, all things bearing;
Love rejoices in the truth.
When we’re caught up in believing
War will make the terror cease,
Show us Jesus’ way of living;
May our strength be in your peace.

May our faith in you be nourished;
May your churches hear your call.
May our lives be filled with courage
As we speak your love for all.
Now emboldened by your Spirit
Who has given us new birth,
Give us love, that we may share it
Till your love renews the earth!

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.
1 Corinthians 13:12

My Savior Face to Face

I am glad I found the Savior,
For He makes my heart rejoice,
And I feel within my soul His saving grace;
But I want to talk with Jesus,
Hear His loving, gentle voice;
I want to see my Savior face to face.

Yes, I know He ever loves me,
Daily guides my erring feet,
And I’m resting in His tender, fond embrace;
But I want to know Him better,
And my dear Redeemer meet,
I want to see my Savior face to face.

When life’s sun is slowly setting,
Twilight shadows veil the sky,
And I’m near the ending of life’s weary race;
In my heart will be this longing,
None but Christ can satisfy,
I want to see my Savior face to face.

When I tread the crystal pavement
Of the new Jerusalem,
Where my Savior has prepared for me a place,
Where the angel choirs are singing
Praise and glory to the Lamb,
O then I’ll see my Savior face to face.

O I want to see my Savior face to face,
Who hath loved me and redeemed me by His grace;
In His kingdom, crowned with glory
On His everlasting throne,
I want to see my Savior face to face.

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

:poly:

Am I a Soldier of the Cross

Am I a soldier of the cross, a follower of the Lamb,
And shall I fear to own His cause, or blush to speak His name?
Must I be carried to the skies on flowery beds of ease,
While others fought to win the prize, and sailed through bloody seas?

Are there no foes for me to face? Must I not stem the flood?
Is this vile world a friend to grace, to help me on to God?
Sure I must fight if I would reign, increase my courage, Lord.
I’ll bear the toil, endure the pain, supported by Thy Word.

Thy saints in all this glorious war shall conquer, though they die;
They see the triumph from afar, by faith’s discerning eye.
When that illustrious day shall rise, and all Thy armies shine
In robes of victory through the skies, the glory shall be Thine.

“Watchman, what of the night?”
Isaiah 21:11

:poly:

Watchman, Tell Us of the Night

Watchman, tell us of the night, what its signs of promise are.
Traveler, o’er yon mountain’s height, see that glory beaming star.
Watchman, does its beauteous ray aught of joy or hope foretell?
Traveler, yes — it brings the day, promised day of Israel.

Watchman, tell us of the night, higher yet that star ascends.
Traveler, blessedness and light, peace and truth its course portends.
Watchman, will its beams alone gild the spot that gave them birth?
Traveler, ages are its own, see, it bursts o’er all the earth.

Watchman, tell us of the night, for the morning seems to dawn.
Traveler, darkness takes its flight, doubt and terror are withdrawn.
Watchman, let thy wanderings cease, hurry thee to thy quiet home.
Traveler, lo! the Prince of Peace, lo! the Son of God is come!

Triumphant now and evermore
Our coming King of Glory.

Behold, the dawn is spreading,
In beauty is spreading:
The beams of love are shedding
The light of joy divine.
From Zion’s tower the watchmen cry,
Rejoice! rejoice! the time is nigh,
When we shall meet our Lord on high,
Our blessed King of Glory.

O dawn of rapture, telling
Where music is swelling
Within our Savior’s dwelling
Above the stars that shine;

Of yonder clime, serene and fair,
And all His faithful ones shall wear

Resting in You

In the eye of the hurricane, I find peace in the storm.
By trusting in You, Lord, my soul is reborn.
Like a child in Your arms, safe and warm against the night,
You will bear me through the darkness, surrounded by Your light.

Though the mountains may crumble, and the sea roll away,
I know You are with me, through the night and the day.
For You’re right here inside me; yes, You live within my heart.
I’ve abandoned my life into Your gentle, loving arms.

When my burdens grow heavy, and I bend beneath the load,
Then Your strength will help me down the long, dusty road.
All my trials and tribulations, they can only make me strong.
For You lift my soul with gladness, and fill my heart with song.

Resting in You, Lord, safe in Your arms,

O God of Love, Grant us Your Peace

O God of love, grant us Your peace, within each restless mind.
May all our inner turmoil cease, God show us how to find
Your quiet rest, Your still, small voice, Your light upon life’s way,
To walk with you our humble choice, God give us grace to pray.

O God of life, grant us Your peace, both where we work and live.
Our ties of fellowship increase, God, teach us how to give
A helping hand, a listening ear, a message we may share,
So day by day and year by year, God give us grace to care!

O God of hope, grant us Your peace, though all the earth choose war.
May global tensions now decrease, God, lead us to adore
The way of Christ, and like our Lord, be merciful and just,
Surrounded by Your Living Word, God give us grace to trust!

O God of all, grant us Your peace, we share one human bond,
And so when others seek release, God, help us to respond
To heal the sick, to seek the lost, to set the captive free,

You shall have a song as in the night when a holy festival is kept,

Isaiah 30:29

A Song of Heaven and Homeland

Sometimes I hear strange music, like none e’er heard before,
Come floating softly earthward as thro’ Heav’n’s open door:
It seems like angel voices, in strains of joy and love,
That swell the mighty chorus around the throne above.

Now soft, and low, and restful, it floods my soul with peace,
As if God’s benediction bade all earth’s troubles cease.
Then, grander than the voices of wind, and wave, and sea,
It fills the dome of Heaven with glorious harmony.

This music haunts me ever, like something heard in dreams,
It seems to catch the cadence of heav’nly winds and streams.
My heart is filled with rapture, to think, some day to come,
I’ll sing it with the angels — The song of Heav’n and home.

O sweet, celestial music,
Heard from a land afar —
The song of Heav’n and Homeland,
Thro’ doors God leaves ajar!

Psalm of the Valley

Grant me a valley, far from the nations,
Where I may dwell all my days.
There peace attends me, ’mid tribulations,
If I but walk in Your ways.
While furies rage and tremble the ground,
While fear and conflicts surround.
In that calm valley, my generations
Stand giving thanks, singing praise.

Where Your hand leads me, there shall I follow,
Trusting Your Word as my guide.
When others fail me, their pledge found hollow
Your grace and love fast abide.
Wilderness path or broad smooth highway
I’ll yield to You, Lord, the way.
The present I see. Not so, tomorrow,
Save that You walk by my side.

God the creator, who is and shall be,
Present in all time and place.
Be my defender, never forsake me.
Never from me, hide your face.
When cold descends and gathers the dark,
When night stills even the lark.
Be my protector, fold your hand o’er me.
I’ll shelter in its embrace.
