What is it? is it the same as rep points that I see on my user cp page? how do I get some?

More posts + more rep points = more POWAH. I think.

You will start getting some once you become registered plus, which will take about a week after your join date. Then when someone approves one of your messages or after so many posts you gain rep power. You will also be able to befriend people then.

how do I approve of post? does it come with time as well? is rep power the same as rep points?

There will be a little "REP" button in the upper right hand corner of every post. And power is not the same as points. I do not understand the relationship exactly, but more of the latter translates to more of the former, by some formula.
