I'm actually doing research for something I'm writing on cults. I'm looking forward to digging for threads on the subject! So far, I've already found some interesting stuff on here.

Do you realize that evangelical Christians consider Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons to be the largest pseudo-christian cults?

Does that term "cult" always carry a pejorative sense for you?

As far as I know, Marshall Applewhite, (the leader of the Heaven's Gate organization), was the only "cult leader" who ever said he actually liked the term "cult" being applied to his organization.
Good ol' Do was always one for breaking the mold, mind you!

Anyway, Hello Ladybug. Welcome to TOL. K's comments are pretty much par the course around here. Cults are a pretty interesting topic, I think. I don't consider the Mormons a cult but JW's seem like they fit the bill. Perhaps not in all situations but in many.
