Christians don't traditionally like slavery; so I'd have to say: pagan.
"Oh, Lord, have mercy on their Souls, for I will have none on their bodies!"
- Confederate Colonel/General William Pendleton, West Point Graduate, slave-owner, Episcopal clergyman, Lexington Virginia

In command of the artillery for the Army of Northern Virginia, Pendleton shouted this "prayer" after ordering his gunners to lower their aim at close range on the advancing Union troops at the Battle of first Manassas!

Isn't that cute?

Now the Canadian is pretending he knows about the American Civil War. :chuckle:

Look where the US is in comparison with other countries, even with our "stay at home orders," businesses and schools closed, wearing masks in public, and social distancing, and then imagine how much worse it would be if we weren't doing any of those things:

COVID-19 vs. US Daily Average Cause of Death

All those countries could be practicing the same "stay at home orders," businesses and schools closed, wearing masks in public, and social distancing" but with a highly infectious timing is everything - the leadership in countries like South Korea and Germany taking decisive action while America "dithered" with denials and false claims that everything was under control!

With a highly infectious virus, the difference of a few days and weeks before a government takes action has a dramatic impact on the rate of infection - which in turn ultimately determines as to whether a healthcare system is overwhelmed!

Another major predictor of success/failure in confronting the pandemic is the early introduction of widespread testing, facilitating the marshaling of limited medical resources to target COVID-19 "hot-spots" before the infection rate explodes!

America has only 4% of the world population but approximately 33% of its confirmed COVID-19 cases and 26% of the related deaths - this nation is paying a disproportionately high toll in human live because of a profound failure in leadership and its inability to conduct early, widespread testing!

Testing continues to be an ongoing problem from which the nation has never recovered - the political, economic and medical authorities at the local, state and national level are all still operating in the dark!

.... while America "dithered" ...

They certainly dithered in NYC - if you exclude the metro NYC data, the US infection rates and deaths rates are similar to Germany and FOUR TIMES BETTER than the UK

Another example of America dithering:

On the rare occasion that a member of the press actually asks House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to defend her terrible decisions and leadership, she bombs magnificently in a fashion not unlike President Trump at a two-hour news conference.

Yet she is continually given a pass by a news media that is more than willing to look the other way.

On Sunday, for example, Fox News’s Chris Wallace pressed the speaker to reconcile her claim that the Trump administration’s sluggish response to the coronavirus pandemic cost thousands of deaths with the fact that she was encouraging people as late as Feb. 24 to go out and visit San Francisco’s Chinatown district.

America has 4% of the world population but approximately ... 26% of the related deaths ...

for a deaths to % of world population ratio of 6.5

The UK has 0.87% of the world population but approximately 10% of the related deaths 11.5

Canada has 0.48% of the world population but approximately 1.2% of the related deaths 2.5

Spain has 0.6% of the world population but approximately 11% of the related deaths 18.3

Italy has 0.78% of the world population but approximately 13% of the related deaths 16.7

France has 0.84% of the world population but approximately 11% of the related deaths 13.1

Belgium has 0.15% of the world population but approximately 3.4% of the related deaths 22.7

Germany has 1.07% of the world population but approximately 2.9% of the related deaths 2.7

US, excluding Metro NYC: 3.51

So, by this metric, we're doing a little worse than Germany and Canada and way better than everybody else listed here

and Metro NYC is off the charts

54% of which can be laid at the feet of the criminally negligent Liberal "leadership" in NYC
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is a governmental body of the United States with powers to regulate all aspects of civil aviation in that nation as well as over its surrounding international waters. Its powers include the construction and operation of airports, air traffic management, the certification of personnel and aircraft, and the protection of U.S. assets during the launch or re-entry of commercial space vehicles. Powers over neighboring international waters were delegated to the FAA by authority of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
JFK International Airport handles over 60 million passengers a year, approximately 5 million a month - this airport handles more passengers in 1 month than the total population of many Republican states!

JFK is the primary entry point for international flights to the eastern part of the nation and services over 90 different airlines.

The Hew York Port Authority which is an extension of the State of New York operates the JFK facility but its the FAA, a branch of the Federal Department of Transportation that regulates all aspects of civil aviation.

According the recent studies, COVID-19 is thought to have come to JFK from Italy, not China and was already embedded in the population before President Trump banned international flights Europe and China!

Neither the Governor nor the Mayor of New York have the authority to regulate air traffic entering their jurisdiction - that is FAA responsibility with is part of the Trump Administration.

Given that neither the Governor nor the Mayor had access to COVID-19 testing, they had no way of knowing as to which of the 5 million passengers using JFK every month were carrying the virus!

yes!

it does!

It handles lots of people!

The governor and Mayor of New York are not in a position to shut down an international airport - these are operated by an agency of the federal government, which is under the Trump Administration!

you are also correct!

and on January 31, Trump issued travel restrictions!

to be effective on February 2!

the same day that NYC Health Commissioner Barbot told people to ignore the Coronavirus!

on Feb 7 too!

on Feb 10, deBlasio was telling New Yorkers to go out, enjoy yourselves!

it's all here!

Let's look at the causes of death in the US. Coronavirus is well down the list even though hospitals and doctors are have political pressure applied to them, and financial incentives given them, to attribute every death to coronavirus so the number of deaths from coronavirus are being substantially inflated. At one point in time, just after NYC deaths passed 10,000 deaths attributed to coronavirus the number of untested patients that had died was 37% of all deaths attributed to coronavirus. That means deaths in NYC due to coronavirus there are highly inflated. They do not reflect reality.

Also if we take the USC/Stanford studies and apply them to NY, even though LA and Santa Clara counties do not have the highly concentrated population areas that NYC has so that their populations are spread out over a larger area, we will find the number of deaths per 1000 coronavirus patients is much, much lower than what is being reported in the deep state run media.

they're skewed the other way in the UK - they're only recording hospital deaths, not nursing home or at home deaths - and half the reported deaths in Canada, for instance, are in nursing homes - Quebec has been hit especially hard

so the milestone the UK passed yesterday, 20,000 deaths, is admittedly an undercount

Now let's compare the number of deaths by abortion compared to coronavirus.

These numbers come from the Guttmacher Institute which is the numbers Planned Parenthood uses.
  • Total number of abortions in the U.S. 1973-2018: 61.8 million+
  • 186 abortions per 1,000 live births (according to the Centers for Disease Control)
  • U.S. Abortions in 2017: ~862,320 (Guttmacher Institute)
  • Abortions per day: 2362+ (GI)
  • Abortions per hour: 98+ (GI)
  • 1 abortion every 96 seconds (GI)
  • 13.5 abortions / 1000 women aged 15-44 in 2017 (GI)
These statistics include only surgical and medical abortions. Because many contraceptive measures are abortifacients (drugs that induce or cause abortions), it is important not to overlook the number of children killed by chemical abortions. Since 1965, an average of 11 million women has used abortifacient methods of birth control in the United States at any given time. Using formulas based on the way the birth control pill works, pharmacy experts project that about 14 million chemical abortions occur in the United States each year, providing a projected total of well in excess of 610 million chemical abortions between 1965 and 2009.

https://www.all.org/learn/abortion/abortion-statistics/

Now, to look at the total number of abortions, which includes chemical abortions, we see that we have 14 million plus 860,00+ per year. So, how many deaths have been attributed to coronavirus this year, even though those numbers have been inflated? 54,000. How many times must we multiply that number to reach the number of deaths by abortion, both mechanical and chemical? The multiplier is 275+. Meaning we have about .36%+ of the total number of coronavirus deaths as we have every year from abortion. As we are now only 4 days away from being 33% through an entire year you can see that the number of abortion deaths is still many times greater than the possible number of coronavirus deaths in a year.

Where's the outrage at the deaths by abortion if the only reason for locking down the country is because people are dying at a small percentage of people dying from abortion? Where is all this "caring" about people's lives? Where is the horror of death? Why are 610 million deaths over 45 years not cause for panic and outrage by those spreading fear of the much, much less lethal coronavirus?

And so is their count of infections.
