A close friend is an expert in presidential history and as a Christian, he considers Trump cautiously at best.

Have him read Barrett 's biography on Trump.

Written way back when Trump was not only not running for office, but his empire had all but collapsed by his own hand, but for the banks his massive corruption threatened to bring down with him; the book is very, very well researched and is one heck of an eye opener as to who the crook now in the White House is and who he has ever really been all about - himself.

The man was raised in his old man's corrupt buying and selling of Mobbed up Tammany Hall politicians and willful fleecing of multimillions of dollars in government housing programs for personal gain no matter who that hurt; and the man went on to do the same on an even grander scale.

Thanks, Danoh. I can get this at the library.

Reading through I and II Kings and Chronicles, shows us that very few in authority desired to follow God's commands.

You lefties are growing tired of your own diatribe and your obstruction. It's producing no results for you as I sit at my house basking in the Trump Presidency, controlling the House and Senate. Nothing but good times here !!!
The "left" is not in a position to obstruct anything - the Republicans, despite having control of the White House, the House and the Senate, have enacted no significant legislation in their first 150 days!

"Patrick jane" can put on a brave face - but his "good times" are based on nothing but "fake facts!"

The Wizard of OOZE, he oozes Fake News. I just let you talk and embarrass yourself everyday. You are completely out of touch with Americans, it's hilarious
How does a Republican House healthcare bill with a 17% public approval rating reflect that they are "in touch with Americans?"

If this is the best that Republicans can do with full control of the White House, the House and the Se4nate, why should the American public make the same mistake twice by rewarding them in 2018

Like their colleagues in the House, the Senate Republican leadership has squandered an opportunity to repeal Obamacare and replace it with true free-market health care. Instead, they have unveiled a bill that retains Obamacare's core mandates.

It should be rejected.

China, U.S. agree on aim of 'complete, irreversible' Korean denuclearization

China and the United States agreed that efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula should be "complete, verifiable and irreversible", Chinese state media said on Saturday, reporting the results of high level talks in Washington this week.

"Both sides reaffirm that they will strive for the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," a consensus document released by the official Xinhua news agency said.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had said on Thursday that the United States pressed China to ramp up economic and political pressure on North Korea, during his meeting with top Chinese diplomats and defense chiefs.

China's top diplomat Yang Jiechi and General Fang Fenghui met Tillerson and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis during the talks. Yang later met with U.S. President Donald Trump in the White House, where they also discussed North Korea, Xinhua reported.

The consensus document also highlighted the need to fully and strictly hold to U.N. Security Council resolutions and push for dialogue and negotiation, which has long been China's position on the issue.

Military-to-military exchanges should also be upgraded and mechanisms of notification established in order to cut the risks of "judgment errors" between the Chinese and U.S. militaries, the statement also said.

Chinese state media described the talks, the first of their kind with the Trump administration, as an upgrade in dialogue mechanisms between China and the United States, following on from President Xi Jiping's meeting with Trump in Florida in April.

Xi and Trump are next expected to meet again in Hamburg during the G20 Summit next month.

A day last week's talks, President Donald Trump said China's efforts to use its leverage with North Korea had failed, raising fresh doubts about his administration’s strategy for countering the threat from North Korea.

The death of American university student Otto Warmbier earlier this week, after his release from 17 months of imprisonment in Pyongyang, further complicated Trump’s approach to North Korea.

China, North Korea’s main trading partner, has been accused of not fully enforcing existing U.N. sanctions on its neighbor, and has resisted some tougher measures.

Washington has considered further "secondary sanctions" against Chinese banks and other firms doing business with North Korea, which China opposes.

This is good.

Good job Tillerson. This is another step in the right direction. China is the only one who can influence North Korea so any influence we can gain with them is positive. We need to be on the same page with the Chinese on the North Korea problem whenever possible.

Aide Says Obama Urged Trump to Press China on North Korea

Former U.S. President Barack Obama advised his successor before leaving office to push for greater Chinese support to rein in North Korea's nuclear ambitions, according to a senior Obama administration official familiar with the subject.

During a private meeting near the end of his tenure, Obama stressed the need to address North Korea's nuclear and missile threats as an early priority, and encouraged then President-elect Donald Trump to carry on a strategy of ratcheting up pressure both on North Korea and its ally China, Jon Wolfsthal told VOA Tuesday. Wolfsthal served until recently as Obama's special assistant and senior director at the National Security Council for arms control and nonproliferation.

“Making it clear to China that their continued protection of North Korea was beginning to undermine American security interests and that we would increasingly have to take steps to protect our interests in a way that might undermine China's own security was a strategy that we believed was going to bear fruit,” said Wolfsthal who is now affiliated with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

According to Wolfsthal, the Obama team presented two options to Trump for dealing with the North Korean threat: seek a freeze on North Korea's nuclear and missile programs through direct engagement, and increase pressure on North Korea through China.

fake news

In North Korea’s first official comments since new Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s swing through the region, a Foreign Ministry spokesman seized on the former oil executive’s blunt assessment that Obama’s strategy needs to be replaced and U.S. efforts to get North Korea to denuclearize over the past 20 years have been a failure.

The spokesman then slammed Trump for adopting the same policies, particularly regarding tougher economic sanctions, nevertheless.

“Tillerson admitted the failure of the U.S. efforts to denuclearize the DPRK for 20 years and end of Obama’s policy of ‘strategic patience during his recent tour,” the North’s official Korean Central News Agency said in the dispatch that ran late Monday, quoting the unnamed Foreign Ministry official. “Now Tillerson is repeating what Obama touted ... until he left the White House.”

The MSM is in a tizzy because some WH press briefings won't be televised :rotfl:
Obviously the White House as something to hide - otherwise they would be taking advantage of the free daily national exposure to promote their agenda!

The net result is that the media will be focusing even more on the President's tweets - and we all know the kind of trouble that they have created for this Administration!

Many House Republicans voted for that healthcare bill as nothing more than a symbolic demonstration of party loyalty to repeal and replace Obamacare - they never expected that this legislation would actually pass through the Senate and become law!

Psalm 20

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
2 May He send you help from the sanctuary
And support you from Zion!
3 May He remember all your meal offerings
And find your burnt offering acceptable!Selah.
4 May He grant you your heart’s desire
And fulfill all your counsel!
5 We will sing for joy over your victory,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some boast in chariots and some in horses,
But we will boast in the name of the Lord, our God.
8 They have bowed down and fallen,
But we have risen and stood upright.
9 Save, O Lord;
May the King answer us in the day we call.
