Tulsa police officer who killed Terence Crutcher charged with manslaughter

Wood, Shelby’s lawyer, said that when the officer showed up and asked Crutcher whether the car was his, he did not respond. Crutcher put his hands in his pockets as he walked toward her, then removed them and put his hands up before walking toward the back of her patrol car and putting his hands back in his pockets, Wood said.

Wood said Shelby fired her gun at the same time that a second officer fired a Taser at Crutcher because she had “tunnel vision” and did not realize other officers were on scene.

All those officers near her, and she didn't realize they were there?

The most likely scenario, if wasn't criminal, is that she panicked.

When you make a woman, who is physically inferior to men, an officer- she's far more likely to pull out her pistol.

Let's see how far pride gets her when she's on the stand

So what's the proportion of male cops to female cops in officer-involved shootings of unarmed black men?

They tend to keep women away from such things in the first place. You'll never see a female officer without backup either with her or around the corner. Like Shelby herself, come to think of it.

It really begs the question what's the point?

But then again, we all know the real reason

This is about racism and racial profiling, not about sexism. Do try to keep your isms organized.

Middletown, Ohio, Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw made headlines when he voiced his frustration at the officer-involved shooting via Twitter (his account has since been made private):

As an officer I am so sick and drained of some cops doing things like this. You are making us all look bad. STOP. #TerenceCruthcher— R_Muterspaw (@RodneyMute) September 20, 2016

Life is precious man. Sorry we don't all agree. Compassion and empathy is eternally important. Just sick of seeing death & hate. #Life— R_Muterspaw (@RodneyMute) September 20, 2016

In response to subsequent tweets, he replied:

Been on that type of call/situation over 100x. You don't shoot for non-compliance. You shoot when UOF escalates. Not hard ... been in that situation 100x….communication, taser, pepper spray…whatever it takes to protect life first[.]

Wow, what an idiot.

No, it's idiotic to pretend something you know is a lie. Women are in uniform because the department wants to put on a show of 'equality'- a female cop can't really do jack except shoot somebody. Sorry to sprinkle reality over that hollow head of yours

I really hope your arresting officer was a woman.

Now quit derailing the thread, this thread isn't about sexism and misogyny.

You're the one who took issue with it, I merely made a statement and you took it for misogyny.

Is reality misogynistic?
You know what, don't even answer that

Sounds like this person deserved to wear a uniform along with the responsibility that comes with it.
