I just received a warning for posting an image - it will be interesting to see if we're both being judged by the same standard!

Doesn't matter what Musty does on this one:

The Parkland Teens Are Winning the Culture War
As the media-savvy students blanketed the airwaves with their eminently reasonable arguments, the big questions were whether the momentum they created could actually last, and, if it did, whether it might actually result in major changes to the country’s gun laws, a goal that has eluded activists for decades.

The second question is still up for debate, though initial signs are surprisingly positive. But the answer to the first question is clear: In just the last few weeks, there has been a significant change in the conversation around guns, one that seems likely to stick.

On March 24, the March for Our Lives drew enormous crowds into the streets of cities worldwide and only a smattering of counterprotesters. Weeks before, a CNN town hall featuring an out-of-his-depth Marco Rubio was an early sign that guns, once a subject Republicans didn’t have to much worry about, were not so easy to navigate anymore. On the internet and off, the conversation around gun violence has hardly faded into the background, even amid the usual swirl of Trump administration chaos. It’s hard to imagine that when the next inevitable mass shooting rolls around, Republican lawmakers will be able to get away with offering the “thoughts and prayers” that have felt so inadequate for so long.

Public opinion polls have emphasized this new reality, showing a marked trend toward more robust gun laws. As Vox’s Dylan Matthews notes, the polling shifts immediately after school shootings have traditionally been ephemeral. But, while it’s still early and surveys have varied, there are signs that Parkland may really be different. The surge in gun reform sentiment hasn’t faded as much as in previous instances, while some of the transformations in public opinion have been dramatic. One particularly striking Gallup poll, conducted in early March, showed that support for stricter gun laws stood at 67 percent, its highest level since 1993, and that 13 percent of Americans mentioned guns as the most important problem facing America, the highest number since the issue was first included in that question in 1994.

Another clear sign that the winds of opinion are changing is that right-wing commentators have largely abandoned their well-rehearsed talking points about guns themselves in favor of ad hominem attacks against the Florida students.

As noted before, the Nazis not only failed to take away guns from German citizens, they encouraged recreational use of firearms.

Would you like me to show you again?

"Nazis confiscated firearms" is just a story the NRA tells people when they think those people aren't smart enough to check for themselves.

There's a lesson for you, there.

Given the false information that conservatives have "manufactured" to attack the credibility of these students, how are we to know if this true!

True ... though it shouldn't matter even if it were. David Hogg is a hero for standing up against violence and bullying in order to save lives. His most recent accomplishment ... exposing Laura Ingram for her vile attacks against VICTIMS.

Looks like those kids decided they weren't going to be victims again. Laura lost her advertisers, felt forced to apologize, and then took off for a "vacation" from her show.

It didn't go according to plan, um?

It certainly did not! :D

As the media-savvy students blanketed the airwaves with their eminently reasonable arguments,
Hogg's obnoxious rants are full of incorrect info.
He is way way too emotional, and foul mouthed, and obnoxious to be anything more than another passing novelty in the world of kooks.
But the left does not care about the child and are just using him as a pawn for their vicious political agenda.
It's shameful to use children that way.
And to fawn over and idolize such a foul-mouthed and obnoxious child is not helping the child at all.
It's very obvious that left cares very very little for the proper care of children.

Everything you said here is 100% right on the nose.

The hysterical reaction of the NRA, comparing this young man to Hitler, tells decent Americans that he's doing well. They clearly fear him, and are doing whatever they can to smear him.

How did that work out for Ingraham?

What the obnoxious kid did was deplorable.
As Laura is not the only person involved with the show.
If the show loses income, budget cuts ensue, and thus employees are laid off.
The kid put several lives at stake with his over-emotional, mountain out of a molehill response, and purposely and maliciously sought to ruin the livelihoods of employees.
All because his little feelings were hurt.
Laura's statement did not rise to the occasion of such an attack, and it was hateful, and irresponsible, and dirty politics what Hogg did.
Hogg needs a parent that actually cares about his welfare.

As I pointed out before, Grosnik, it's unlikely that you're wicked. You're just indoctrinated to the point that you can't think for yourself about many things.

You might be a pretty decent human being, even a good Christian, when it doesn't involve your obvious biases.

Patronizing 'Old GM' won't gain you any points. Do you actually believe 'Old GM' is interested in what you have to say? If you believe that, I offer you my deepest condolences.

Do you consider yourself to be one of these 'Decent Americans?' In my humble opinion, the far-left zealots (Including yourself) are the WORST America has to offer. The REAL 'Decent Americans' are those trying to protect the Constitution.

They are literal script-kiddies. The texts saved by the kid who the handlers did NOT want appearing shows the presence of media managers and writers who already had things well in motion. There is nothing about this that's remotely organic. It's just the newest angle on astroturfing.

It's all fake, a psyop, and a clumsy one at that.

When these kids have served their purpose the media will cast them aside like used kleenex. Just ask Cindy Sheehan, that fat chick who molested her sister, Clockboy, etc etc etc.

"Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it."

Musterion's corollary:

Those who cannot even learn from the present and very recent past are too dangerously stupid to be given microphones.

What the obnoxious kid did was deplorable.

He decided that he wasn't going to be a victim a second time, and fought back. Bullies always hate it when intended victims strike back.

As Laura is not the only person involved with the show.

Yep. Her stupid and vicious behavior let everyone down. Shifting the blame to someone else won't work; she did it, she bears the responsibility.

The kid put several lives at stake with his over-emotional, mountain out of a molehill response, and purposely and maliciously sought to ruin the livelihoods of employees.
All because his little feelings were hurt.

All bullies and their toadies whine when someone takes them down.

Laura's statement did not rise to the occasion of such an attack,

Her advertisers think otherwise. Pretty much any decent person would. Ingraham thought she had all the power and decided to ridicule this kid. He taught her a lesson she won't forget.

The kid has more character than all the irresponsible people attacking him, combined.
