About a week or so I (and at least one other, TH) have noticed the following issue:

    1. Quote a post
    2. In the text editor that opens scroll down to the end of the quoted text therein
    3. Now left click the mouse, which places the cursor immediately below the quote tag
    4. Begin typing a response below the quote tag in the post editor window
    5. Note that the spacebar has no effect on the initially typed response, e.g., thewordstypedruntogether
    6. To escape the issue, one must start a new line below the text typed in #2 above

Note that at step #3, if one places the cursor immediately after the right quote tag bracket ] , but not on a line below the bracket ] , the spacebar functions as expected.

I have seen this same problem at another site running vB 4.2.3, but do not have this problem on other sites not running vBulletin software. The issue is repeatable on Chrome, Opera, and Edge browsers.

From a search, it looks like other discussion sites have been seeing the issue, too:
    https://goo.gl/Hqugmq
    https://goo.gl/DGWH06

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

EDIT: The vBulletin folks are not going to fix the issue given the version that has the problem is an older version:

This doesn't seem to happen to everyone. It seems as if it's an issue with Chrome on a PC. Hopefully Chrome will fix this in upcoming updates.

Hmmm... it seems to work for me using Safari or Chrome on the Mac.

I wonder if this is a PC thing??

Must be. That describes my bit to a tee, though Must was right, if you go Advanced the issue ends.

I think I have discovered my error on this one. Clicking the RSS button will give an error. Rather one must right click the button, and select the copy link address option, then paste that copied link into one's personal RSS feed tool (I use Feedly). Then all will work as expected.

Is it acceptable to post a video of myself from youtube to get feed back on the topic I am discussing in the video. It's a 5 minute sermon.

Hello Richard Tanner. Welcome to TOL.

Since you are a newbie, TOL usually requires that you make a few posts of discussion before you are allowed to post links to other material.
This is just to show that you are truly interested in the discussions of this site and not just here to spam the site.

You can wait until you have enough posts (I believe it is around 25), or you can PM one of the mods here with your video link and they can view it and give permission to go ahead and post it now.

My browsesr just closed the tab I was using to reply to a post. It was a rather lengthy reply, and I was wondering if there's an autosave feature and how to access it. I saw some kind of autosave message a couple months back, but I haven't seen it lately, and I never figured out how to get to the saved pre-posts, if that's what it was talking about.

I don't know about that but I will say whenever I have a masterpiece all typed and edited and looking ready I copy it before I try to post in case something goofy happens like with my connection or router.

Good advice. I do that sometimes, but in this case I wasn't yet trying to post when the tab closed. It's a new machine, and I was using IE reluctantly.

I found a good post from Ask Mr Religion where he said he does all of his longer posts in a text editor of some sort, so I might try that.

I wonder if anyone has a text editor that will read the vBulletin code and interpret it? Notepad++ might have the capability, but I don't know for sure how to get the defined language.

I'm on the TOL app now. How do you turn the URL of an article into a link on a post?
