If you are not eligible to be drafted and if you are not currently a part of the workforce, please, just stay home and don't cast a vote in any elections.

You are out of touch and have no idea what you're voting for.

You are too senile, too out of touch and to uninformed to have an opinion.

So please, kindly stay home. Relax in your armchair. And shut up. ;)

Really. Bernie Marx is like an animated corpse, and not just spiritually: talk about most likely to tip over in office! Yep, but put senile, out of touch, uninformed, with no idea, in the White House. Makes sense to me.

Excellent demonstration of liberal reasoning, isn't it? (This does make it easier on everybody, though. I really like it when they make the case for you: truly, anybody or anything, but some degenerate, diseased-minded Democrat.)

You haven't a clue do you?

I highly suspect it's pure trolling, as it's one of those excessively stupid statements, crafted to try and inflame. Nobody is that dumb. Well, you don't see such junk like that everyday, anyway. Maybe every other day?

Most likely somebody's desperate for attention, perhaps got a new telephone book and wasn't listed in it, some such crisis situation narcissists struggle with.

Retired people consistently are overrepresented in election outcomes, mostly because you people have nothing else to do. And the people and things that you vote for consistently run against the interests of people who are still in the workforce. You people are actively making societies worse.

If you can't get drafted, you shouldn't have a say in the politicians who may or may not send people to war.

If you aren't in the workforce, you shouldn't have a say in how the workplace and the economy are regulated.

And if you have one foot in the grave, you shouldn't have a say in decisions that are going to impact people who will be alive long after you are dead.

Wow!
So there are ageist bigots in America too?
Interesting.

that's cute

if you ever have kids you'll understand the concept of being responsible for others, for caring about their futures, for being reluctant to leave that future in the hands of morons

After last night's Super Tuesday results, I can't really say that I'm all that concerned about boomers when it comes to the coronavirus.

What you really mean is: "You guys didn't like Obama, and I liked him! You voted in a guy who repealed Obama-care and stopped pedophiles from being legal and mandatory throughout the U.S."? You aren't the first to express such a thing. I've been in your shoes with what I felt was 'right' in my youth BUT we had this that separated us: 1) I realized I was standing on the backbone of other's hard work and sacrifice and 2) I was taught by my loving parents, to love and respect all people, especially my grandparents.

If you can't get drafted, you shouldn't have a say in the politicians who may or may not send people to war.
:chuckle: What you really mean is that you are frustrated AND that you can't handle living in a world where what you think or how you vote isn't enough. Ever watch Logan's Run? Naw, you are way too young for that. You are way too young for a lot of things. Incidentally, I was able to be drafted. We don't currently have a draft so that doesn't apply to you either. Should you have to sit down and be quiet too? Seriously:  Draft ended in 1973... how old are you? What grade did you finish?

If you aren't in the workforce, you shouldn't have a say in how the workplace and the economy are regulated.
Except how we are served by it? I'm not retired, but you are goofy to think you've got it all figured out. Your generation and the next are not equipped to grasp that it takes resources to produce resources. Communism just takes from the haves (what little most have) and gives it to the have-nots, will-nots. The rich 'may' lose what they have, but it just goes into the hands of more corrupt individuals in communist countries. One thing every one from a communist country always says to me, is how amazed they are 1) that food exists in abundance and variety and 2) that it can rot. Until you are starving, you'll never know what lies you've bought. Do you think there are Genuine needy panhandlers?

And if you have one foot in the grave, you shouldn't have a say in decisions that are going to impact people who will be alive long after you are dead.

You mean, like my kids' lives? Well youngster, you've a lot to learn. No, you can just be frustrated because I nor my fellow 'oldsters' are going to sit home while you waste away things we've worked hard and fought for. You 'get' to be thankful, regardless how entitled you feel, and you get to sit down and listen to your elders who have hopefully gained perspective and wisdom that you haven't learned yet. The fact that you don't have either learning or respect means your parents failed an ungrateful, unlearned child who is quickly becoming what 'should be' a respectful and knowledgeable adult.

In a capitalist society, you have a right to starve and go homeless.

In a Nazi (or any other socialist) society, you have a right to a job.

Yeah, I'll go with literally any socialist society over the capitalist one any day.

Even if it is the Nazi version of socialism.

You'd be crazy not to.

 Unless you are a Jew! Seriously, you've a fairy tale mentality. The reality is so much much much more harsher than you think. Sure, if you wanted to be a party member it'd get you out of a death camp....or in charge of one. Your fantasy dreaming and harsh reality counterfactuals aren't even on the same page. Do yourself a favor, earn (through Capitalism) enough money to go abroad and ask how many Chinese would love to come to America. Go to the border and ask those kids, criminals, and families why they want in. Go to Sweden and ask them what their taxes are like and if they'd like some other form of government. Your 'princess' obsession isn't realistic. It is off by a long shot. I think your 'ideal' is a good one, but what you'd use would kill and harm a LOT of people. Maybe just us old folks, though? You'd like that perhaps?

Maybe............ certainly Sad.
But I can feel sorry for Ageist bigots ........ because day by day they creep more closely to their own certain self-loathing.

You know, there's a very simple way that you could stop "Ageist bigotry."

1. Stop voting for conservatives.
2. If you are unwilling to do this, then stay home on election day and let people who are not retired have their say on things.
3. Stop talking down to millennials and zoomers.

Between the gig economy, automation and the climate crisis, we are at a critical period in time where old people voting for conservatives is actively making things worse for everybody.

We are living at a period in time which is fundamentally different from the one that you grew up in, but old people are still pretending like it's the 1950s.

There is growing "ageist bigotry" (vis-à-vis the #OkBoomer meme) because you people are standing in the way of much needed economic and environmental reforms that everyone who isn't retired very clearly sees are necessary.

You exercise disproportionate political influence over a political context that you just don't understand.

And you are actively making things worse.

Because of you people, we may end up not being able to save the planet (and by extension, our own hides).

Because while the planet burns, you boomers think that the scientists are all engaging in one giant conspiracy.

And this is what particularly infuriates me about the entire thing, right?

Boomers love their old age pensions and free government healthcare.

But they actively vote to deny the younger generations anything at all.

You waste your votes on politicians who want to cut the social safety net THAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING and do more war. All while continuing to do nothing about the climate crisis which is, I wish to remind you, AN EXISTENTIAL THREAT TO THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE.

Yeah, no, sorry.

I won't apologize for saying that the coronavirus very well may turn out to be a great force for good in the world.

And lets not forget that you consistently vote for politicians who wrack up HUGE deficits so that they can give tax cuts to rich people.

Huge deficits that YOU won't have to pay off. You won't have to worry about that in the long run. You'll be dead.

No, the younger generations are going to have to pay that off.

Boomers are absolutely despicable. They are a cancer on society.
