Impeaching Donald Trump

(AP) — ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS will set aside scheduled programming next week to cover the House’s first open impeachment hearings on President Trump.

The cable news networks CNN, Fox News Channel, MSNBC and CSPAN will also provide live coverage. The broadcast networks’ announcement Friday that they would televise the hearing, however, gives the event an extra measure of exposure and weight with the public.

The first hearing of the House intelligence committee’s hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday, with the second on Friday at 11 a.m.

William Taylor, the U.S. diplomat in the Ukraine, is scheduled to testify Wednesday about the Trump administration’s efforts to tie U.S. military aid to that country in an agreement to investigate the president’s political rivals.

Transformational Marxism developed an ideology which weakens and gradually gets rid of the Christian derived Culture of Western Europe and the United States. Frankfurt School Transformational Marxism starts from an ideology which teaches that the Culture which hinders the establishment of a Marxist Collectivist Society and Totalitarian Government must be abolished. A great deal of what the present day Democratic party does can be understood here, that their objective is to destroy the Culture that made the U.S. into what it is. That ideology would lead to the Leftist and Democratic Party Narrative which says that Trump must be impeached largely because he is a Christian, is politically incorrect and of the wrong race, gender and sexual orientation - no matter what he has done as President. "Orange Man is Bad because he is Christian, heterosexual, and male."

Apparently, a lot of Trump supporters think those two are identical."

Trump is the first President Since Kennedy who has tried to defend the elected branches - President, Congress - of the U.S.government from the unelected bureaucracy, now called the Deep State. In fact, this opposition to the Deep State by Trump may be one reason the Democrats want to impeach him.

The state was designed by the founders to be sufficiently deep that no one person could command it on his own. Trump, used to having his way in all things, has repeatedly crashed into walls erected to make the state too deep to be subject to the whims of one person, regardless of his office.

This is what makes him crazy. He seems to have genuinely supposed that the POTUS is just like a CEO, when the founders did everything they could to make sure no one would ever have that kind of power.

It is the deep state that has kept us from that kind of dictator. And yes, the founders knew that men like Trump would eventually show up. They planned for it.

And, to Trump's dismay and fury, they did a rather good job of it. This is precisely why he so detests the Constitution; it's thwarting him at every turn.

I wonder if the person who wrote this really thinks that what is now called the Deep State was designed by the founders as a balance against an over-powerful President. And does he not know that what is called the Deep State is not part of the Constitution?

If the person who wrote this is playing games in the use of the Deep State and knows roughly what it is, then the TOL Censor should look at this.

What came to be called the Deep State began with the National Security Act of 1947, in the Truman Administration. The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) was the main World War II intelligence agency of the United States, and was a predecessor to the (CIA). Eisenhower in his Last Address called attention to what he then called the military industrial complex, which he said to beware of.

The Deep State includes the CIA, but also includes the
National Security Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Administration, several military intelligence offices, etc, all of which is a huge bureaucracy, apparently intended in the National Security Act of 1947 to be under control by Congress and the President, but as Eisenhower warned, has to be watched closely because it is not always under the control of the Constitutional arms of government. This huge bureaucracy is not part of our Constitution.

It is the duty of the President, along with Congress, to maintain control of the Deep State, and constitutionally the President is not under any control by the Deep State, but the Constitutional balance of power is in the three branches, President, Congress and Supreme Court

It's called "separation of powers." And no, that's not explicitly written into the Constitution. It's just the way the founders expected it to work, and it does. The people who yearn for a dictatorship renamed it the deep state. But it's a good metaphor. The state is too deep to let any one man take control of it. Which is precisely what the founders intended.

The United States Constitution is deliberately inefficient.

The Separation of Powers devised by the framers of the Constitution was designed to do one primary thing: to prevent the majority from ruling with an iron fist. Based on their experience, the framers shied away from giving any branch of the new government too much power. The separation of powers provides a system of shared power known as Checks and Balances.

Three branches are created in the Constitution. The Legislative, composed of the House and Senate, is set up in Article 1. The Executive, composed of the President, Vice-President, and the Departments, is set up in Article 2. The Judicial, composed of the federal courts and the Supreme Court, is set up in Article 3.

Each of these branches has certain powers, and each of these powers is limited, or checked, by another branch.

For example, the President appoints judges and departmental secretaries. But these appointments must be approved by the Senate. The Congress can pass a law, but the President can veto it. The Supreme Court can rule a law to be unconstitutional, but the Congress, with the States, can amend the Constitution.

All of these checks and balances, however, are inefficient. But that's by design rather than by accident. By forcing the various branches to be accountable to the others, no one branch can usurp enough power to become dominant.

The following are the powers of the Executive: veto power over all bills; appointment of judges and other officials; makes treaties; ensures all laws are carried out; commander in chief of the military; pardon power. The checks can be found on the Checks and Balances Page.

The following are the powers of the Legislature: Passes all federal laws; establishes all lower federal courts; can override a Presidential veto; can impeach the President. The checks can be found on the Checks and Balances Page.

The following are the powers of the Judiciary: the power to try federal cases and interpret the laws of the nation in those cases; the power to declare any law or executive act unconstitutional.

I know exactly what it is. The separation of powers means that no official at any level can rule by decree. Trump has tried it a few times, and has gotten increasingly agitated as it becomes clear that the nation doesn't work like that.

(Paranoid rewrite of history redacted)

No amount of reason or facts will affect the conspiracy theorists who imagine that Trump has failed because of some sinister cabal of bureaucrats. I can only point to the fact that what the conspiracy buffs seem most agitated about is the exposure of the way the Trump government works or fails to.

- Trump must be impeached largely because he is a Christian

- politically incorrect

- the wrong race, gender and sexual orientation (Christian, heterosexual, male)

It shows just how far the moral standards of Republicans/Evangelicals have fallen when they choose to make Donald J Trump their "poster boy!"
