So as not to derail other threads, can people explain some aspects of Enyart's show?

Where do the guests come from?
Has he ever "lost" a debate?
I was told that he was previously married 3x before his ministry. Was there some turning point (ie. did he become christian), or was he christian, and just chose to begin preaching, and had a differing opinion on marriage, or what?
He is part of a Bible Church - is this in affiliation with a demonination, or is it non-denominational?
Did the church come from his radio show, or did his radio show create a following?
Is his radio show non-profit?

Yeah, it's a lot of questions, but I don't understand the history of him, his show, or his congregation.

I believe that he was a Christian, however, he came to a turning point where he repented of the sins leading to his failed marriages.
DBC is non-denominational.
The church was planted by another Denver area church, I believe.
The radio show is non-profit but not a 501 (c) 3

Does he discuss why his marriages failed?

Where does he get guests?
Does he ever get stymied by the guests?
Freak was on here once, right?

There is a fairly brief bibliography at Wikipedia. It is not entirely complementary, but to the best of my knowledge it is accurate within reason.

From what I understand that is not accurate re: his marital breakup, but again, I am not close to the situation so don't know for sure.

As I recall from his testimony, his marriages failed due to an addiction to pornography and things of that nature. I have never heard him get stymied by a guest, but I can't say it has never happened. And, you can hear me, docrob57, if you listen to this year's first show!!!!!

Yes.

I'm not sure what you mean here. He gets guests the same way any number of radio shows get guests.

Freak was on here once, right?
Are you asking if Freak was ever a guest on BEL? If so, the answer is no.

Hmm. If there are specific points that are inaccurate, I'm more than glad to provide a correction to the article. (I have a Wikipedia account.)

Justin

Edited to add: And I won't even tease him about having been born in New Jersey ... well, I won't tease him too much. :chuckle:

Get confirmation elsewhere, but I don't think his marriage broke up due to involvement with Operation Rescue.

This is a great example of Christian love.

Enyart advocates the death penalty for offenses such as homosexuality, murder, attempted murder, abortion, and feminism. Homosexuality was frequently singled out for criticism by Enyart, who sold T-shirts imprinted with the slogan "Homos Make Me Sick", and once played the Queen song "Another One Bites The Dust" as the names of AIDS victims scrolled by on the screen.

From the biography:
During his show's nationwide run, Enyart began co-habitating with Cheryl Mayns...
So this is what Wikipedia call it when a couple gets married and then lives together? There's no mention whatsoever that Bob and Cheryl are married.

There are several inaccuracies in that bio, but this one is especially gross.

Yeah, they kind of got that backwards. I've heard him mention that he withdrew from his involvement with Operation Rescue because he destroyed his marriage.

They misspelled "rape."

Yeah, that one got me, too.

OK, so let's get the specifics together--however, do be aware that as Wikipedia is a "group collaborative effort," it will go through a continuous peer-review process.

1: Divorce from Krista: when she filed, she actually filed for adultery. Bob talks about pornography (he may mention the adultery on the videotape), and the article talks about workin at OR.
2: When did Bob marry Cheryl?

I do also have to mention this--many Christians will see the second marriage, divorce, and remarriage to Cheryl (herself divorced as well) as a violation of the "husband of one wife" statements in the Bible. Has this been discussed in anyof Bob's public works, and should that be mentioned (or, at least, a link to the information)?

That was one of the most controversial things Bob has done as a deterrent against Homosexuality. He would cut out the faces of dead homosexuals from the Obituary and write SODOMITE under it. They'd play the Queen song and he would write EX- before SODOMITE.

Well, this is a bit off-topic from getting the Wikipedia article updated, but I wanted to ask a question. I can see the logic of of Bob's choice in doing this (though I quite disagree with that logic)--but am I the only one who feels that this would do far more to harden the resolve of those who oppose Bob's plans?

As a Chrstian, I agree with you.
