A man who helped translate the NIV gave a sermon once entitled:
"Isaac - Hero to Zero?"

Do you think being part of a great thing and never part of another great thing after that is bad?

Hero. :)

Christopher Columbus is hated by the left. That alone make him a hero too...

Leif Ericson discovered North America about 400 years before he did and yet Christopher usually gets the credit.

And he did not share what he knew with others. Columbus is a hero. He proved the Bible right about the earth being a sphere suspended in space, and not flat like the the heathen and RCC claimed.

Columbus didn't prove the world was round, nor did he intend to. It's a myth. People already knew the earth was round. The RCC didn't claim the earth was flat when Columbus made his trip. They said that it would take him too long to sail to India (which is what he wanted to do) and survive. They were right. Columbus had his calculations of the circumference of the earth completely wrong. Luckily he found some unexpected land before they all died. He thought he was in Asia.
