Isn't it the responsibilty of a translator to carry the meaning of a word or phrase over to the language for which they are making the translation?

Apple7,
re: "Then why do we have 100+ different English translations of the same text?"

Are you suggesting that it isn't the responsibility of a translator?

You don't know, just as I thought.
Hey, GT, just want to let you know I'm still waiting for a response to this question:
That's not what I asked.

I asked:

Is it a possibility that certain words or phrases that have a certain connotation to them lose that meaning when translated into other languages?

Believers worship God first and foremost.

The son of God and other honorable believers are honored as well

Jesus changed the location of worship to Himself, in John 4...

• John 4.21; Worship is no longer to take place in the Mountain, or in Jerusalem.
• John 4.23 – 24; Jesus declares that the NEW place to worship is in Spirit and Truth, which is to worship in the Person of Jesus Christ, who is the temple.

GT are you JW?

No way am I a JW.
JW's teach against Jesus being God.
JW's have a doctrine of soul sleep which I call a doctrine of death.
JW's come across as sheep but they are ravenous wolves, taking even our spirits away...if you believe them.
