Just because someone believes that Jesus is the Christ, does not mean that they have saving faith.

Satan also believes that Jesus is the Christ. Does that mean that he is saved? All of the Old Testament prophets and patriarchs were saved because they all had one thing in common, they all believed God. They believed that God would keep his promise and provide them a savior. Because they believed that God would keep his promise they were justified by faith. They lived looking forward to God's promise of a savior. They looked forward. We look back. Both are justified by faith. Faith, not works or obedience is what counts for righteousness. Romans 4:5.

The same thing that applied then, applies now. "Therefore, being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans 5:1. Faith is what makes the Gospel ours. The reason that we have peace with God is because we are now living by faith, instead of by works and obedience with God, which is religion.

Calvinism is a non faith religion. Calvinist do not have saving faith. What they have faith in is an idea that they have been predestinated to eternal life by God. This is not saving faith. Saving faith is always faith in the work and the person of Jesus Christ. Catholicism is also a non faith religion. They do not have faith in God or Jesus Christ, they have faith in the Catholic church. Faith in any other thing than Jesus and his Gospel is not saving faith.

It's God that Justifies, not Faith.

So then as confirmation of God Justifying them in Eternity, it's revealed to their conscience when they are Given Faith in New Birth Gal. 5:22.

In other words, it's evidence or assurance that God has already Justified them. It was never God's Purpose in Christ to ever lay any condemnation to His Elect because of their sins Eph. 1:4-7.

Rom. 8:33-34
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Nothing can be charged to God's Elect because their sins have already been laid on Christ in their stead Is. 53:6.

Rom. 4:7-8
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Don't you teach that sinners Christ died for are still lost ? You call that Faith in Christ ?

God justifies no one without faith in his Son Jesus Christ.

Calvinist do not believe that Jesus atoned for the sins of the world. By their own admission they do not have faith in Christ.

To NOT believe that Jesus is the savior of the whole world is to believe that Jesus is not Lord.

No one will be saved that does not believe that Jesus is Lord. By their own words they condemn themselves.

That may be generally true...just as we have those non-denominationals who put their trust in themselves. But, I believe there are saved people among both those groups, and only God can see into their heart.

I think the reason some can't agree is because of the way you put it, Robert. If you read these two statements, they don't make sense. "Saviour of the world - no one will be saved that....." I know what you mean, but it isn't as clear as you want it to be. :)

If all are not saved, then Jesus is not the savior of the whole world.

The Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world, but many, like the Jews "would not" confess Jesus as the Son of God. We read that throughout the scriptures. The gift of eternal life is waiting....the prison door is opened. Some "would not".

1 John 4:14-15 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

pates lie

God justifies no one without faith in his Son Jesus Christ.

That's a lie. Those Christ died for were declared Justified by Christ's resurrection Rom 4:25

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

That means Christ being delivered for their offences Justified them before God before they believed !

False teaching, those Christ lived and died for are saved, made righteous because He believed and obeyed Rom 5:19

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Catholicism is also a non faith religion. They do not have faith in God

You are wrong again, Robert:

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 222:

"Believing in God, the only One, and loving him with all our being has enormous consequences for our whole life."

See? Faith in God and it's importance abounds in Catholic teaching.

or Jesus Christ,

"Justification is at the same time the acceptance of God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ." (Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 1991)

Faith in Jesus Christ abounds as well, in Catholic teaching.

they have faith in the Catholic church.

You are making stuff up.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Your statements about the Catholic Church so often are the exact opposite of what the Church actually teaches. And it is easy to prove because the Catechism can easily be found online.

Why do you lie?

Why do you lie?

The Catholic church does NOT obey God.

We have to obey God to love God.

Robert Pate is just as separate from God as he says the Catholic church is, because Pate also teaches he does not obey God.

Robert Pate, do you see now how you are like the Catholics BECAUSE you both do not obey?

You both sure enough believe, but you both do not obey.

We have to believe and obey to have God's Truth.

Since Jesus saves and saves to the uttermost, Hebrews 7:25, why would anyone need a religion?

Catholicism is self defeating. Catholicism means that you don't have faith in Christ and you had better do something to save yourself. Sinners cannot save sinners, nor can sinners save themselves.
