Biblical Clues to TEMPLE Location in the City of David

Then fly-away bird... you've left nothing but bird-droppings here.

That is because you have posted nothing of value so far except post some verses that prove what? That the Jews who have lived in and around Jerusalem for 1000s of years don't know where their own Temple was located?

There, I fixed it.

You are mildly annoying, and haven't produced anything in this thread besides insults and some random quotes from the Bible. I don't think your other threads have been much better.

There must be forums that specialize in having people insult each other. Maybe such a site would serve your purposes better than this forum. You can even use an on-line insult generator, if you like.

Why don't you continue to deny the Exodus with Elia?
Whatever your "belief", it has little to do with Holy Scripture.

Perhaps you can repost your Tanakh reference to me as the "talking donkey" ?
BTW, Denial is not a river in Egypt.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo [aka: Ophel] and within. - 2 Samuel 5:9
And this is the reason of the TAX which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo [Ophel], and the wall of Jerusalem - 1 Kings 9:15
Solomon built Millo [Ophel], and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father. - 1 Kings 11:27b
And David built the city round about, even from Millo [Ophel] round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city. - 1 Chronicles 11:8

Millo [aka: Ophel] had been the Jebusite unoccupied fill-site, and laid north of the City of David, between the City of David and Mt. Moriah.

Nehemiah 3:26-27 ie: Rebuilding the Temple
Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel [Millo] , unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out. After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.

On the map above, the Millo-Ophel is below the so-called "Temple Mount" (Mt. Moriah) and just north of the City of David. The "water gate" designates the location of the water supply of Gihon Spring. The "tower" was built to protect the spring and prevent enemies access to water. The Temple location is mis-identified as "Palace".

But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the City of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo [Ophel]. - 1 Kings 9:24

The ridge upon which the City of David is built is at three levels. The lowest level is the City of David. The highest level is Mount Moriah (aka: "Temple Mount"). In between lies the Millo (aka: Ophel). Because the Egyptian queen worshipped idols, her abode had to be built up and away from the Temple, so as not to pollute the Sanctuary. Thus her house was built on what is now called the "Temple Mount".

The Silwan Location Thesis maintains that the Jewish Temple was located in the northern end of the Palestinian neighborhood called Silwan, and that the remains of the City of David, the original city of Jerusalem, is located there.

We know from Josephus that the Temple could not possibly have been located on the platform of the Haram ash-Sharif.

The other reason it could not be located there is that it lacked a feature every temple had to have: a natural spring of flowing water. The only spring within a five mile radius of Jerusalem is the Gihon Spring. It is located on the eastern slope of Silwan.

All descriptions of the temples place the temple above the spring of Silwan. Flowing spring water along qualified for Jewish ritual cleansing, of which much was demanded by Temple practices, and for mikveh, the Jewish ritual bath, which remains a requirement for Orthodox Jews to this day.

This is the second major reason the temples cannot have been located at the Haram, which has plenty of cisterns but no naturally flowing spring. http://thejewishtempleisinsilwan.blogspot.com/

Now when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come and that he intended to make war on Jerusalem, he decided with his officers and his warriors to cut off the supply of water from the springs which were outside the city [to the east], and they helped him. So many people assembled and stopped up all the springs and the stream which flowed through the region, saying, “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find abundant water?” And he took courage and rebuilt all the wall that had been broken down and erected towers on it, and built another outside wall and strengthened the Millo [Ophel] in the City of David, and made weapons and shields in great number. - 2 Chronicles 32:2-5

Sennacherib's army was denied a prolonged siege position because he was denied the only supply of water in the area (ie: Gihon Spring). The Ophel/Millo was the area between the City of David and south of the so-called "Temple Mount". There was no "aqueduct" coming into the City of David, as that would have easily been diverted for use by the invading Assyrian's, plus the water supply to the City of David and Temple would have been cut-off.

Hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob
and rulers of the house of Israel
- Micah 3:9a

Therefore because of you [Israel & Judah]
Zion shall be plowed as a field;
Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins,
and the mountain of the house a wooded height.
- Micah 3:12 ESV

God left no visible sign of where the Temple was located.

I can see you may have difficulty following the "clues" Sherlock. :sherlock:

So what are you hoping to accomplish with all of your "clues"? You are leading people to be concerned about something that is a NON-ISSUE in these last days. The last temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. and will not be built again. The TRUE temple is now in heaven, where Jesus appeared to present his redemptive sacrifice before God. You are clueless.

Read what Paul was inspired to write in Hebrews:

"We have such a high priest as this, and he has sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a public servant of the holy place and of the true tent, which God put up, and not man. (Heb.8:1,2)

"When Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come to pass, through the greater and more perfect tent not made with hands, that is, not of this creation, he entered, no, not with the blood of goats and of young bulls, but with his own blood, once for ALL TIME into the holy place and obtained an everlasting deliverance for us." (Heb.9:11,12)

Of course we understand the "tent" or "tabernacle" that is mentioned means also the "Temple." There no longer needs to be a physical temple on the earth, because the TRUE temple is in heaven. If you say that another physical temple is needed, you are, in effect, negating the only sacrifice that could ever bring forgiveness of sins---Jesus' own. And he has already given up his human life so that humans could live forever. No temple is needed.
