Cheap Grace

Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, communion without confession, absolution without personal confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.

COSTLY GRACE

Costly grace is the treasure hidden in the field; for the sake of it a man will gladly go and sell all that he has. It is the pearl of great price to buy which the merchant will sell all his goods. It is the kingly rule of Christ, for whose sake a man will pluck out the eye which causes him to stumble, it is the call of Jesus Christ at which the disciple leaves his nets and follows Him.

If we continue in sin, that is not the right thing to do, seeing that grace is free to us. We most certainly should appreciate God's grace and learn to live accordingly.

Since grace is God's divine unmeritted favor, then grace is neither cheap nor costly, to us it is free.

If it cost us something, it would not be grace, it would be a purchased product.

The pearl of great price is the ecclesia and it is Messiah that gave up/sold everything to purchase it.

So it costs you your life. Isn't your life worth it?

Why do you believe it to be unmerited when God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble? Jesus was full of Grace and truth as our example.

So, for your own relationship with
Messaih", what price would you be willing to pay?

There is no payment needed from me. When He cried out on the tree it was "it has been paid" and not it is finished. By paid He meant the redemption of His people. Man hates this and always demands that he must, can and will do something to "gain" salvation.

Only the recipients of grace understand this and accept it cheerfully.

You show me a man who has sold everything he's got to possess Messiah and I'll show you a man who relies on his works.

How 'bout he asks God to consume everything in his life that hinders his relationship with Him?

How do you feel about that? Works or faith? How 'bout it stems from a love affair one has to God that he desires to know Him above anything in his life? Works or faith?

That sounds like a man striving for something he hasn't got.

Yes? And? He wants more. What is your problem?

"Hasn't got", does not refer to has got and wants more. Grace actually means an action from a superior to an inferior who has no real claim for gracious treatment. If a man has received grace and grows in grace and the knowledge of Elohim then that man will never be disappointed. The operative word being "received".

How can a man want more of what he hasn't got?

Wow! You really don't know much about God's grace, do you? Who told you it was unmerited? Suppose this isn't about salvation which he has but now understands there is more of what saved Him to be had for a price?

The man saw the field with its treasure and wanted it above all he ever desired. He sold all he own to buy it because it was a precious field to him and would solve all his problems and you say he had couldn't have it simply it would be works salvation??

LOL!!!!

How 'bout I give me whole life to own the field? You gonna call that works salvation as well when i am already saved?

Hi and in Matt 13:45 , the context is the Kingdom of Heaven or the Millennium or what is called the 1000 tear reign of Christ and this means that there is no CHEAP GRACE !!

So , the PEARL , TO ME is the KINGDOM and this man is seeking the Kingdom of Heaven then and those during the Great Tribulation !!

I do not see the Greek word CHARIS / GRACE used here at all !!

Just some more FAKE NEWS !!

Nick, please give the context of Acts 20:21 where Paul preached "repentance" .

Act 20:21
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sure looks like Paul preached repentance ! Kinda looks like no repentance no faith according to Paul.

Hi and REPENTANCE / METONIA has many meaning and one is a CHANGE OF MIND or a CHANGE OF DIRECTION !!

So , what Paul was telling the Jews was to REPENT /CHANGE THERE MINDS towards God as the Jews had the Law and they were told to REPENT and be Baptized !!

And telling the Gentiles to have FAITH towards our Lord Jesus Christ !!

Paul was not preaching to the Body of Christ in Acts 20:21 and in Acts 26:20 , REPENTANCE means WORKS and in Acts 21:21 , Paul was preaching AGAINST the Law of Moses !!

Another way to explain why he mentions GENTILES if they were CONVERTS to Judaism !!

Repentence initiates the grace of God. Repentence won't happen sans faith; the faith of the Son of God, Paul lived by.. Our flesh is too powerful an adversary. That is why being a Christian is by relationship, not by doctrine.
