I considered debating him a challenge, and just thinking about it gives me a chuckle. Yeah, I got frustrated. :chuckle:
But he wasn't a troll. I miss him and a lot of others who were unappreciated for the skill and the intelligence and the knowledge they added to this place.
A few of you wanted them gone because they threatened your narrative, so you worked to make it happen. What a shame.

sure he was - i never fully understood it until I had oodles of time to kill when I was subbing and i started studying his style - then I turned it back on him and drove him absolutely crazy - I still have fond memories of being in a high school shop classroom playing a boring video for the bored kids for five periods while reading TOL and responding to barbie (and others)

iirc, the last time i saw the "Barbie-Biggest Liar On TOL?" thread (of which the OP was a compilation of dozens and dozens of excerpts and links to different posters on tol calling barbie a liar, or dishonest), none of the links worked because all those old threads had been pruned
come to think of it, i think the thread title was "The Barbarian - Most Dishonest Poster On TOL?"

Yep, I think Barbarian infuriated so many people because he simply wouldn't flap or flame out. He was never going to be 'popular'here because of his commitment to biological science and the dismantling of 'creationism'. SOD, for whatever reason had a huge ongoing obsession with the guy rivaled only by the one he's had with TH. One only needs to look at the amount of bans Barb had in relation to SOD to see who the real troll is on that score.

i don't think he "infuriated" anybody
i think people tired of him quickly because one of his pet trolling methods was to attribute emotion to his opponent
just as i think most people tire of you because you make wrong assumptions and run with them
