When did the Israelites destroy Jericho.

Does he erroneously believe that the descendants of Jacob/Israel, were in Egypt for 430 years?

Kenyon's dating was based entirely on pottery she found at the site, not unreliable "carbon dating". She based her date on "what she expected to find" rather than "what WAS found" in the Tell. She failed to see all the "evidence". Poor Kenyon gets an F

Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus (2015)

The results of Kathleen Kenyon, by whatever means, was confirmed to be correct, and proven conclusively to have been correct by the 'HIGH PRECISION' radiocarbon dating test on 18 samples from Jericho, including six samples of carbonized cereal from the burnt stratum, in 1995 by Hendrik J. Bruins and Johannes van der Plicht. The results of these tests gave the age of the strata as 1562 BC, with a margin of error of 38 years, confirming Kathleen Kenyon's results which still stand today, and proving that Josephus the Historian was also correct in revealing that the Israelites departed Egypt in 1567 B.C.

Again I ask you, on what scripture do you base your date of the Exodus? Exodus 12: 40, which states that the Israelites were in Egypt for 430 years to the very day. Or do you base your date of the exodus on Pauls statement in Galatians 3: 17; which claims that they was a period of 430 years from the day that God first made his covenant with Abraham, until the day that he gave the Law through his prophet Moses, or perhaps you base your belief of the time of the Exodus, on the Hebrew Septuagint, which says that there was a period of 430 years from the day when Abraham moved into the land of Hams son 'Canaan' until the day his descendants left Egypt?

If you believe exodus 12: 40; that the Israelites were slaves in Egypt for 430 years to the day, then you would be looking for a date some 215 years after the Septuagint claims that the Israelites left Egypt.

As to the reason why I do not open links or videos, it is because the time I can allow myself to sit at the computer, is very limited and precious to me, and I am not going to waste that time listening to idiotic so-called experts who haven't got a clue as to what they are talking about.

Does your champion Have radiocarbon tests that disprove those of Hendrik J. Bruins and Johannes van der Plicht in 1995 the results of which gave the age of the strata as 1562 BC, with a margin of error of 38 years, confirming Kathleen Kenyon's results which still stand today, and proving that Josephus the Historian was also correct in revealing that the Israelites departed Egypt in 1567 B.C.

When your champion can prove scientifically that Jericho was not destroyed some 40 years after the Israelite shepherd kings left Egypt, and not according to his erroneous belief of the time that he thinks the exodus occurred, come back.

For Kathleen Kenyon has confirmed the correct date of the destruction of Jericho, some 40 years after the biblical date of the exodus of Gods Son 'Israel' from Egypt.

Your champion has the bull by the udder, in his attempt to prove the biblical date of the exodus, is wrong.

All the archeologist depended on pottery for their dating of Jericho.
All the archeologists before and after Kenyon agreed on the 15 century destruction.
Kenyon stands alone in dating the destruction 150 years prior to the established date.

She based her date on the fact that she didn't find the sort of imported pottery that was common
in that era. Since she didn't find any, she concluded that Jericho was destroyed prior to the
importation of that specific imported Mycenaean pottery. So her conclusion was based on
what she didn't find. Unfortunately, she FAILED to recognize a Jericho pottery that was COPIED
from the popular Mycenaean pottery.
Mycenaean pottery was produced from c. 1600 BC to c. 1000 BC by Mycenaean Greek potters - Wikipedia

How Kathleen Kenyon arrived at her conclusion of the date that Jericho was destroyed, is irrelevant, the fact the her date was confirmed by Hendrik J. Bruins and Johannes van der Plicht, who used a 'HIGH PRECISION' radiocarbon dating test on 18 samples from Jericho, ‘INCLUDING SIX SAMPLES OF CARBONISED CEREAL FROM THE BURNT STRATUM,’ in 1995. The results of these tests gave the age of the strata as 1562 BC, with a margin of error of 38 years. Confirming Kathleen Kenyon's results, by whatever means she used.

When you can PROVE that those 'HIGH PRECISION' radiocarbon tests, which have confirmed Kathleen Kenyon's date as to the destruction of Jericho, are incorrect, then feel free to come back with that evidence.

But why do you continue to side step the question, "Which of the bible statements as to the time that Israel was in Egypt before the Exodus" do you and your champion (WOOD) believe?

Do you believe Exodus 12: 40; which states that they were there for 430 years to the day.

Or do you believe Paul, who says in Galatians 3: 17; that there was a period of 430 years between the time that God made his covenant with Abraham and the EXODUS, when the Law was given through Moses?

Or do you believe, the Hebrew scriptures, which state that there was a period of 430 years, from the day that Abraham entered Canaan at the age of 75, until the Law was given?

Or, was it 40 years after the Israelites had been in Egypt for 225 years according to Paul, who states in Galatians 3: 17; that there was a period of 430 years from when God first made his covenant with Abraham at the age of 85, until the Law was given through Moses? Which means that the Israelites were only in Egypt for 225 years.

This would mean the exodus occurred around 1567 BC.

Wrong.
Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his SEED - Gal 3:16a -- Joseph was Abraham's SEED
So, from the time the promises were made to Joseph (seed of Abraham),
they sojourned in Egypt for 430 years before the Exodus (and prior to the LAW).
BTW, Kathleen Kenyon rejected the Scriptures and so do you.

You poor soul. Are you really incapable of comprehending that which you read, or do you just refuse to read that which shatters your false belief?

You have quoted Pauls writings in Galatians 3: 16; and have taken it completely out of the context in which was written.

Galatians 3: 16-17; 16 "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

17 What I mean is that God made a covenant with Abraham and promised to keep it. The law which was given 430 years later , cannot break the covenant and cancel out Gods promise."

The Law was given 430 years after God first made his covenant with Abraham, who was 85 at that time. 15 Years later, when Abraham was 100, his son Isaac was born. Jacob, whose name was changed to 'ISRAEL' was born when Isaac was 60, and ISRAEL entered Egypt when he was 130.

15+60+130=205. Revealing that there was a period of 205 years from the day that God made his covenant with Abraham and ISRAEL entering Egypt, which means that, according to Paul, they were in Egypt for 225 years, before the law was given through Moses, 430 years after God had made his covenant with Abraham.

Give it a miss mate, I don't enjoy having to embarrass you by continually having to point out your inability to understand the Holy Scriptures.

As nearly as I can tell, all of the BC/AD dates rely on the work of Arcbishop Ussher, who calculated dates for the Biblical events in the 17th century.

However, the bishop's calculations are erroneous in no small way, because they fail to take into account co-regency.

I saw this to say...

All your dates are irrelevant. The Bible doesn't use dates like these.

You simply have no regard or respect for the Holy Scriptures - just like Kathleen Kenyon.
Exodus 12:40-41
Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even to the very day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

Are you "incapable of comprehending" this Scripture?

The Septuagint, which is a Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures in Alexandria some 200 years before Jesus, by Israelites, who were more familiar with the Hebrew Language, than were the authors of your King James and more modern Bibles.

Exodus 12: 40; "And the sojourning of the children of Israel, while they sojourned in the land of Mizraim{gr.Egypt} and the land of Canaan{gr.Chanaan}, [was] four hundred and thirty years.

Are you incapable of comprehending the original scriptures from which your erroneous translation was taken?

How lame. :dizzy: :loser: :hammer:
The Dead Sea Scrolls, in the original Hebrew language, is translated thus:
The time that the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years.
At the end of 430 years, on that very day, all the hosts of the
LORD went out from the land of Egypt.
- Exodus 12:40-41 ESV
Precisely 430 years to the day.

PS: the Masoretic Text reads the same.

Wrong! And that is why, no radiocarbon test will ever confirm your erroneous date for the destruction of Jericho.
