Reuben was Jacob's oldest but the Spirit inspired Jacob to give a double portion to his favorite son.
Joseph was destined to be a savior to his people.
When I saw the name Reuben at the beginning of your sentence, I thought you might have had some idea as to the truth, but no.
Then you mentioned that Joseph was destined to be the saviour of his people.
Joseph was a prototype of Jesus the Bright Morning Star. He was forever accusing his brothers to his Father, and they hated him for it. On one occasion Gad had pulled a young lamb from the jaws of a bear that he killed, and seeing that the lamb was going to die, he butchered it and cooked it for the hired hands that were with him.
Joseph, who would take supplies out to his brothers, who all looked after separate flocks, saw what Gad had done and ran back and told Jacob, that Gad had killed and eaten a lamb without the permission of his father or Reuben the first born, and Gad was in trouble because of that.
The brothers got rid of him as did the brothers of the Bright Morning Star who was forever accusing his brethren.
They first threw him into a deep pit, where they left him for three days, before selling him for thirty pieces, Your bible will say that he was sold for twenty, but if you read the Last testament of Gad to his children, he has this to say; chapter 2: verse 3; "Therefore I and Simeon sold him to the Ishmaelites for thirty pieces of gold/silver, and ten of them we hid, and showed the twenty to our brethren, with those twenty pieces, they all bought new sandals, and it was from there that the custom arose, See Ruth 4: 7; New Living Translation; Now in those days it was the custom in Israel for anyone transferring a right of purchase to remove his sandal and hand it to the other party. This publicly validated the transaction.
Like Jesus, the Bright Morning Star, Joseph was sent ahead to prepare a place for his brothers.
But that does nor refer in any wasy to the 13 tribes of Israel, does it?
In Revelation 7:4: The 144,000 chosen ones are mentioned, 12,000 are chosen from 12 of the thirteen tribes of Israel: Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph/Ephraim, and Benjamin.
Why is the 13th tribe of DAN missing?
And what the hell is that senseless statement supposed to mean? The tribe of DAN is not counted among the chosen in order to prove that the tribes are spiritual Israel, not of flesh descendancy?????????
Would the omitting of any one of the other 12 tribes have proven that the tribes are spiritual Israel? why pick the tribe of DAN?

Because Manasseh was not one of Jacob's twelve natural born sons. Dan was left out.

Revelation was written to the church aka not Israel of the flesh!! The ethnic tribes of Israel vanished thousands of years ago. The synagogue of Satan who say they are Jews and are not are made to bow at the feet of Christians. Jesus rebukes all Dispy's!!
Jacob, whose name was changed to 'ISRAEL' adopted the two sons of Joseph as his own, and divided Joseph into the two tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh. Ephraim the oldest carries the name Joseph in Rev 7: 4.
But even if, as you say, Manasseh was not one of Jacob's twelve natural born sons, why would DAN, a natural born son of Jacob/Israel, be rejected in place of an adopted son?
And don't worry about the post by Epoisse, spiritual Israel has nothing to do with it. Look to DAN himself, and ask, who his mother was.

No one has perfect knowledge of God and His word.
God is humongous that no one can fathom the whole truth of God.
Yea! There are those that I too, have sent to that place where the eye cannot see and ear cannot hear. But this does nothing to answer the question of Bilhah the mother of the sterile DAN.
