Interpreting the Bible in the Light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

The whole Bible is about Jesus Christ and his Gospel. Does it not make sense that all scripture should be interpreted in the light of this miraculous Gospel event. In the Old Testament God was bringing forth a nation and a people from whom the savior of the world would come. This is how the Old Testament should be interpreted. What you use to interpret scripture will determine whether or not you have the truth.

Example, Calvinist interpret the Bible in the light of Calvinism. Calvinism and predestination are not the main focal points in the Bible. The word predestinate only appears 4 times in the Bible. The word "Gospel" appears over 100 times in the Bible, this is why they do not have the truth. Catholics interpret everything in the light of the Catholic church. There is no mention of a Catholic church in the New Testament. This is why they do not have the truth.

If one does not understand what Jesus accomplished in the Gospel, the Bible will not make sense.

In the Gospel Jesus has victoriously defeated sin, death and the devil, Colossians 2:15. Because he defeated sin, death and the devil, God made Jesus both Lord and Christ, Acts 2:36. The main part of the Gospel is that because of the meritorious work of Christ, God accepted Jesus back into heaven and seated him at his own right hand, a place of honor and respect, Hebrews 1:3.

So what does that mean to me?

Jesus is God's new Adam and our new humanity, 2 Corinthians 5:17. When Jesus lived, we lived in him. When Jesus died, we died with him. When Jesus ascended into heaven, we ascended with him. Spiritually, we are dead and our life is hid with Christ in God, Colossians 3:3. This is the Gospel that justifies the ungodly, Romans 4:5 and reconciles us and the world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19. All that Jesus is and all that Jesus did was for us. He is our justifier, Romans 3:26 and our reconciler, Colossians 1:20, 21.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ interprets all scripture and calls all things into question, especially religion. In the Gospel no one needs to be predestinated. Jesus Christ is the all sufficient savior and saves to the uttermost, Hebrews 7:25. In the Gospel, no Catholic church is needed. Jesus is our righteousness. In the Gospel, Jesus is the savior of the whole world, 1 John 2:2 and provides salvation for everyone, Hebrews 2:9. Salvation is ours by simple child like faith in Christ and his Gospel, plus nothing.

You teach that sinners Christ died for, shed His Blood for, are still going to perish in their sins anyways! Making the blood of Christ of non effect!

The Gospel is that work that Jesus did in our name and on our behalf.

Fulfilled the law and atoned for our sins.

I respectfully disagree.
THE GOSPEL is the good news that the Messiah has come and has begun to fulfill the Mission promised in the Hebrew Scriptures.
The mission of the Messiah or Christ is to establish the Messianic kingdom here on earth.
Matthew 6:10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.

Read through the Gospels and see how often Jesus talks about the kingdom.
Of course, the Hebrew Scriptures cannot be fulfilled until the Kingdom is established on earth.
Isaiah 16:5 (King James Version)
And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

Jeremiah 23:5-6 (King James Version)
5Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Nothing is yours until it is received by faith, no faith, no salvation.

So far all that you have is John Calvin the heretic.

That is a lie, no scripture says that. Those Christ died for are reconciled to God while they are enemies Rom 5:10!

Robert has his own gospel. His gospel is how he is so much more righteous than Catholics and Calvinistas.

Robert is impervious to scripture or what it really means.

Robert sticks to scripture, unlike you. You have crazy ideas of things in the Bible, you find your own meaning and jump to some very outlandish conclusions.

Mark 1:14-15New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

There are two Gospels. There is the Kingdom Gospel which is the good news that the King has arrived and then there is the Gospel that Paul preached, which is the Gospel that justifies the ungodly, Romans 4:5 and reconciles us and the world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19.
