Question to D'ists about a future destruction of Israel

If Mt24A, Lk 21, etc refers to 66-72 AD and you believe there is a 'program' in which Israel will be landed, built, secure (some say ruling all the nations), what difference does it make to you about the past reference? Aren't you all set and the past makes no difference?

The event--the utter destruction--happened of course, but I just can't grasp why it matters to you so much to make sure Mt24A and Lk21 do not refer to it, and why you would prefer the adventurous interp where it happens in the distant future.

Similarly, if the future view is true, the "future" (you say) Lk 21 destruction includes the expression the 'wrath in fulfillment of all that is written.' That doesn't sound very golden age or affirming or victorious to me! What's that doing there?
