How important is the Sabbath?

There are many reasons for the Sabbath, and the day of the week it is literally has no impact on it's worth. Incidentally, it was appropriate to change it from Saturday to Sunday because Christians do not celebrate Creation but the Resurrection. Ellen White and whoever else were just a bunch of heretics- it's amazing how so many can get duped into the words of such people.

You would seem more rational if you made it clear you are Jewish.

There are those who claim to be Jewish, but they're really not.

Revelation 3:9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say they are Jews and are not, but lie - indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet and to know that I have loved you.

The Sabbath is a traditional Jewish holy day.

The Sabbath Day of Rest is not only a sign for Christians also; it is also a test of character.

Daniel 7:25
He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws.

One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast.

The Catholics changed the commandments along with the Sabbath Day of Rest. The Biblical Calendar was a 364 day a year calendar. In the news around the world people follow the Papacy.

The immortal Creator became mortal so he could die for his creation.
We only have to die once.
You are confusing Jesus with being an ordinary human again.....

As much as I loathe the thought of agreeing with jamie, jamie is right... ...or at least, not all wrong. Saying that God became man to die for our sins is NOT inconsistent with the FACT that Jesus is fully man and fully God:
"The only-begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods" (St. Thomas Aquinas, Opusc. 57, 1-4).

QUESTIONS: At the Crucifixion....

a. Jesus’ human nature died on the cross.
b. Only the human person of Jesus, not the divine person of Jesus, died on the cross.
c. God died on the cross.
d. Jesus’ human and divine natures both died on the cross, but the universe was kept going by the Father and the Holy Spirit until Jesus’ Resurrection.
e. None of the above.

ANSWERS:

a. Wrong, because natures aren’t put to death—persons are. When you die, it is not your human nature which dies but you as a distinct person.
b. Wrong, because there is no human person in Jesus. There is only one Person, the divine, who already (by definition) had a divine nature and who took on a human nature.
c. Correct, because the Person who died on the cross was a divine Person, commonly called the Son of God. Since that Person is God, it is proper to say that God died on the cross, even though that sounds odd and may make some unthinking people conclude that it means that God ceased to exist, which, of course, was not the case. (If you were sure this answer could not be right, don’t fret—you’re in good company. Most people miss this question because the correct answer "just doesn’t sound right.")
d. Wrong, first because natures don’t die, persons do, and second because the answers suggests Jesus couldn’t keep the universe going, as though he ceased to be God between the time of his death and his Resurrection.
e. Wrong, because (c) is correct.

There has always been Christians who have kept the Sabbath Day Rest throughout history. The Pagan Catholics changed the Sabbath in the third century.

The "pagan Catholics", as in every Christian who existed, when all the churches were in full communion
Saturday Sabbath among Christians is a recently invented construct.

I said the same thing Jesus is 100% human and 100% divine. Jamie seems to believe Jesus was only human.

How many tome must i say the same thing to have it understood? I said this ten years ago.

Everybody else other than Christians believe that Jesus is the biological son of Joseph. A Christian who cannot agree with Jesus' deity ought to not call their self a Christian at all, as it is based fundamentally upon the faith of Mary's virginity.

It really does go back to the Reformation and was especially big in America.

The Sabbath Day is the original 'day off'. It existed primarily for God's people to form a society which operated in a better manner: work hard through the week, and then take a day off to revere Creation- that is, it's not even for God, but a mandated benefit to us in existing harmoniously in the world.

What many Christians don't understand in these modern times is how natural it all is. The seven fruits of Israel, virtually all of Jesus' parables, anointing oils and scents, etc. are all of God's nature. People spend a lot of times looking at the sky rather than around them.

Making it about the day, or how to practice it, is something tapped from the same flawed legalism of the Pharisees who claimed that Christ broke the Sabbath.

But the Pharisees claims were proven false as He showed Sabbath gave Him lordship and thus authority

He then upheld its true healing power...many are still healed and refreshed by it...

Making it about a day was also not of the Pharisees but the Creator Himself Who made it about a day and it's sequence with the others...

Disobedient Christians celebrate that which was not instituted to be celebrated...the church relies on another man made festival for precedent...purim
