THREE SPECIFIC REASONS FOR PARABOLIC TEACHING

Three Specific Reasons for Parabolic Teaching

1. Firstly, for the disciples it will be for the purpose of ILLUSTRATING the truth. However, they don't understand the parables until Jesus explains them.

Look at Mark 4: 34, and notice that privately, Jesus explained the meaning of the parables to His disciples. This is now His basic pattern, from the time of the unforgivable sin and onward.

2. Secondly, for the masses the purpose will be to HIDE the truth.

3. Thirdly, to fulfill the prophecy that at some point Messiah will begin speaking in parables.

Look at Matthew 13:34-35. Notice that Jesus begins to speak parabolically only in public - “without a parable spake He nothing unto them.” This is also in fulfillment of Isaiah 6:9-10, as referenced by Jesus in Matthew 13:15.

Let's look at the context in which Jesus teaches the parables. In light of the fact that Israel has just now rejected Jesus as Messiah, and thereby the Messianic Kingdom, Jesus' purpose for the parables is to teach His disciples what God's plan will NOW be in regard to His Kingdom program.

The parables are more than what they seem at first glance; taken as a unit they lay out the workings of the Kingdom. They are not just a random gathering of illustrations, they are a COHESIVE PACKAGE OF INSTRUCTION regarding the different aspects of the Mystery Kingdom.

Refer to the chart: Diagrammatic Representation of the Facets of the Kingdom of God.

The Kingdom of God has five facets

Jesus' statement to the disciples in Matthew 13:11 “to you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it has not been granted,” will be illustrated to them by the use of the parables.

The phrases “the Kingdom of God” and “the Kingdom of Heaven” are synonymous. The only gospel writer to use “the Kingdom of Heaven” is Matthew, and he does so to avoid offending Jewish sensibilities.

Why do you think it would offend the Jews to use “the Kingdom of God?” Jews do not like to pronounce the name of God (YHVH). Jewish people use substitute titles, such as Adonai (the Lord), or Hashem (the name), or a combination of the two Adoshem (the Lord of the Name). Another substitute for the name of God is the word for heaven (Shemaim). Many Jews won't even spell out the word God. They use G-d.

The parables will reveal a new facet of God's Kingdom Program, the Mystery Kingdom.

To get the comprehensive picture, let's look at the totality of what makes up the Kingdom of God. Again, there are FIVE facets of the Kingdom of God.

The Eternal or Universal Kingdom

This facet refers to God's rule in providence and in sovereignty. God is always in control.

He is in control either through His permissive will, as in the fall of man, or in His directive will, as in the flood.

Nothing happens that surprises God, and nothing happens outside His will.

The term “eternal” emphasizes the TIMELESS aspect, the fact that God is never out of control.

The term “universal” emphasizes the SPHERE AND SCOPE, that no matter where things exist, everything is within the sovereign will and control of God.

Examples are: 1 Chronicles 29:11-12, Psalms 29:10, 103:19-22, Daniel 4:17.

The Spiritual Kingdom

It is God's rule in the heart of the believer.

It is comprised of all the believers, and ONLY of believers, from Adam until the end of history.

In this age the Church and the Spiritual Kingdom are synonymous, but the Kingdom existed before the Church was born and will continue to exist after the Church is gone.

The Spiritual Kingdom was here before the events of Acts 2, the birth of the Church, and will remain after the rapture of the Church.

The way to enter this Kingdom now is by the new birth. However, the Old Testament faithful are a part of this Kingdom as well. This Kingdom extends into eternity.

Examples are: Matthew 6:33, John 3:3-5, Colossians 1:13. There are many more.

The Theocratic Kingdom

It refers to God's rule by means of and through a theocracy over one nation: Israel.

It was established under Moses at Mt. Sinai with the Mosaic Law serving as the constitution of the Kingdom of Israel.

At that point the people of Israel became the nation of Israel.

It underwent two aspects in its' history:

1. First, the Mediatorial Kingdom. God ruled through mediators: Moses, Joshua, and all the judges until Samuel.

2. Second, the Monarchial Kingdom. God ruled through the house of David.

It ended when Zedekiah was removed from the throne (the exile to Babylon) and the times of the Gentiles began. The times of the Gentiles will go on until we once again have a Davidic King on the throne, Jesus.

Theocratic rule spans the scriptures from Exodus 20 to 2 Chronicles 36. This is the history of the theocratic Kingdom.

As the quality of the theocratic Kingdom deteriorated, the prophets began to proclaim the coming of the Messianic Kingdom.

The Messianic or Millennial Kingdom

This Kingdom is the Messiah's rule over Israel and over the world from Jerusalem and from the throne of David.

The term “Messianic Kingdom” emphasizes that in this Kingdom the Messiah Himself will rule directly.

The term “Millennial Kingdom” emphasizes that this Kingdom will last 1000 years. Revelation 20:6 “Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.”

The very first mention of these things in Matthew points the reader to the context in Isaiah which context itself gives a cryptic answer concerning "how long". Therefore how can anyone expect to even begin to understand without taking the Isaiah context into consideration?

Matthew 13:10-15
10. And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speak you unto them in parables?
11. He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says, By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive:
15. For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Isaiah 6:8-13
8. And I heard the voice of Adonai, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I, send me!
9. And he said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but understand not; and you see indeed, but perceive not.
10. The heart of this people is fattened, and their ears are heavy, and their eyes are shut; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
11. Then said I, how long, Adonai? and he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses be without a man, and the land be utterly desolate:
12. And [until] YHWH has removed the man afar off, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
13. And yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and it shall be for consumption; like the terebinth tree, and as the strong oak, whose stump remains when they are felled: the holy seed is in the stump!

Every man has his house with his land wherein the man is likened to a strong tree which in one of the appointed times gets cut down or felled. The same is the case with Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel 4:10-17, where the king is likened to a strong tree which gets felled because of his mighty pride, O king. :)

The kingdom of heaven went into its mystery form as of Matthew 12.
Once the Pharisees brought the mute demoniac to the one claiming to be the Jewish Messiah (Jesus), it would be up to Him to prove that He could cast out the mute demon because according to first century Pharisaic Judaism only the Messiah when He comes could cast out this type of demon.

Jesus does and the elders of Israel blame it on ZacharyB B as in beelzibub.

What takes place in Mt12 Es Israel's national rejection of Yeshua on the basis of demon control. Because of their rejection the kingdom of God offer is removed from "that generation" and enters into the mystery kingdom of which we now live.

There are four generations to the first age of the man, like the four seasons in a full year: autumn, winter, spring, and the summer of your harvest. Those accounted worthy to enter into the second age are isangeloi.

Proverbs 30:11-14 KJV
11. There is a generation [1] that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
12. There is a generation [2] that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
13. There is a generation, [3] O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
14. There is a generation, [4] whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, [teeth of iron - Daniel 7:7] to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

Matthew 12:38-45 KJV
38. Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
39. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation [1] seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
40. For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41. The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, [2] and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
42. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, [3] and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
43. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
44. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
45. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation [4].

These are merely two examples from many and the understanding originates from Torah which itself explains why there cannot be "generational curses" as many seem to believe from the passages therein concerned.

The Pharisees, Sadducs, and Herod are used metaphorically throughout the doctrine and Testimony of Yeshua. When he condemns them it is not real people he is condemning but rather who and what they symbolize in his doctrine. And, yes, it concerns doctrine according to one of the passages which was referenced:

Matthew 16:6-12 KJV
6. Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
7. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
8. Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
9. Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
10. Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11. How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
12. Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Mark 8:15 KJV
15. And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

Watching I was, and behold, a great lioness ruled the house: and beneath her rose up a she-bear having a three pronged mazleg-fleshhook between its teeth: and of its two sides one house arose to the height of Hillel. And, lo, a third beast like unto a leopard, with four wings of an unclean fowl in its curve, and it was given dominion over the land of the man, four tetrarchies to the four winds. And from a compacted league of the tetrarchs, in the latter time of the first age of the man, there came forth a little horn speaking great things: and with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, that is, the eighth and of the seven. A marriage made like as in the days of Noach! For none shall be alone in his appointed times.

Conventional wisdom is the type of information that is found in Proverbs--or in Ben Franklin’s Almanac.

Parabolic wisdom, as Jesus taught it, overturned and dislocated conventional wisdom.

The idea that God is corrupt or unclean flies in the face of normative religion.
But since Jesus hung out with the corrupt and unclean, perhaps we can begin to see what Jesus was getting at.

Daqq, you are wrong to interpret the bible by spiritualizing the passages to fit your preconceived philosophical prejudice

Aikido, when the disciples asked Jesus why He now as of Mt12 speaks only in parables (unlike the sermon on the mount when the people we are told: understood Him clearly), Jesus tell them He is teaching in parables to purposely hide the truth from the masses.

Perhaps a clean inner force cannot be corrupted by and unclean outside force except through deception, (concerning mankind). And perhaps a large portion of the war for understanding concerns the age old battle between "the flesh" and "the Spirit" understanding.

The unpardonable sin? What would you know about that? :rotfl:

YOU have already DEFILED yourself TWICE in this thread alone not to mention all the times you did the same in the last thread where we spoke. This is your previous response to me at the bottom of the previous page:

Doctrines of demons.

This is what you said about another poster here in this forum in your first response to me on the previous page:

The kingdom of heaven went into its mystery form as of Matthew 12.
Once the Pharisees brought the mute demoniac to the one claiming to be the Jewish Messiah (Jesus), it would be up to Him to prove that He could cast out the mute demon because according to first century Pharisaic Judaism only the Messiah when He comes could cast out this type of demon.

What takes place in Mt12 Es Israel's national rejection of Yeshua on the basis of demon control. Because of their rejection the kingdom of God offer is removed from "that generation" and enters into the mystery kingdom of which we now live.

You are a walking dead man because you did not believe nor heed the Testimony of Yeshua when he clearly states that it is the things which come forth from the mouth which DEFILE the man because those things come from the heart:

Matthew 15:17-20 KJV
17. Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18. But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20. These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

In addition the topic which you have now raised concering blasphemy and the unpardonable sin you yourself have committed when you equated "ZacharyB" with "Beelzebub". This is the EXACT same thing which they said of Yeshua where this topic comes up in the scripture. It was not Yeshua himself whom they said was Beelzebub but rather the Master of his house because they said that he had an unclean spirit. This is the companion passage for Matthew 12:27-32 from the Gospel of Mark:

Mark 3:22-30
22. And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
23. And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24. And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26. And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27. No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
28. Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29. But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
30. Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

Matthew 12:32
32. And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that [age] which is to come.

You have already accused two people here of having an unclean spirit, and one of them you likened to Beelzebub, exactly as did those in the passages above. You better hope there are two "ages" to the man!

Matthew 10:19-25
19. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
21. And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
23. But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24. A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
25. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his teacher, and the servant as his master. If they have called the Master of the house, Beelzebub, how much more them of His household!

You called my heavenly Father what you did, (I cannot even repeat it in the same sentence) and though I forgive you it is not between you and me: and you will certainly pay back everything that you owe, down to the last fin, gill, scale, and belly mite, O king. :chuckle:
