But racial prejudice is not racism.

In other words, talking about one's views of this or that racial group is not racism. Acting on one's racial prejudices, good or bad, is racism.

A more interesting question is:


Can one who holds negative racial prejudices not avoid being a racist?

Good post! It has started me to confront some of my previous beliefs on the subject.

Always a good thing!

I have fully accepted my own racism. However, in my case I have found that however much I convince myself that I am not actively promoting it by my behavior, I do affect the world in subtle ways by holding the racist beliefs I have.

In my view, that is not a good thing. And I see it every day.

What is the difference between racialism ad racism? Forget looking it up. the net does not have a clear idea of the difference, as far as I know?

There's no such thing as 'race' up until you want to call someone 'racist', and then all of a sudden there's race :AMR:

How much more do you all need to revise before your fantasy world is complete? No race, ambiguating roles, making gender arbitrary- it's a detachment from reality :chuckle:
