God’s Law

Did Jesus obey God's law? If so, was his obedience motivated by love toward God?

Do you have this love?

Jesus' entire ministry was under the old covenant prior to the cross so his obedience is far different than ours. Christians are not required to keep the old covenant law even though the general tendency is heading that way. Grace is becoming weaker and law is becoming stronger.

Yes, that's Paul's definition but God is love and he has his own definition of love. The two commandments Jesus referred to were a brief synopsis of God's definition. The first four define love toward God and the next six define love toward neighbor.

Love can do all things which the law can never do.

Epoisses,
re: "Christians are not required to keep the old covenant law..."

To which of the six in the OP are you referring?

God's law makes one aware of sin. God set up a sacrificial system to acknowledge ones sins. However, it did not work. Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrifice for all sins. Jesus is our High Priest in heaven whom we are to go to for our sins. If one obeys the two Great Commandments they will be obeying all of God's Commandments.
Shalom. There are 613 commandments summarized in two commandments of these 613. Jesus did die that you would be forgiven and granted the free gift of eternal life. This does not make sacrifices and offerings wrong. Shalom. Jacob.
