Salvation in Jesus Christ

What are your thoughts about the statement that salvation is by faith and not by works? Do you believe we who are of faith ought to do good works? Do you believe you should obey God and call unbelievers to obedience? Does the proclamation of the gospel message include anything to be obedient to? If so, what? Jesus died for you, for the forgiveness of your sins, and to grant you the free gift of eternal life. Repent and believe the gospel, that you would be saved. Turn from your sin to the Savior, Jesus Christ. May He be your Lord as well.

Romans 5:18-19 KJV
(18) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
(19) For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

One, Christ alone.
Not two, you plus Christ.

If you are relying on the righteousness and obedience of yourself, you are relying on the wrong one.

Choose carefully.

Yep.
He is the one.
Not two, you and Him.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves it is the gift of God.

Ephesians 2:8 NASB - 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

And Paul explained the reason for salvation.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

Even Paul had some good works.

Having been saved we do good works. We were appointed unto good works. But we were saved because God wanted us saved, not to do good works though this can be true as well.

Romans 4:4-8 KJV
(4) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
(5) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
(6) Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
(7) Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
(8) Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Christianity is not really about a religion. It is really more about a person, The Lord Jesus Christ.

A kingdom is based on a family, in this case the family of God. Christianity is about how we relate to our Father's family.
