OK, so here's a treat. At least it is if you like what's called "Americana" music, like I do. It's the 2015 Americana Music Festival from Austin City Limits. If you don't have time for the whole show, I'll mark the times of some of the highlights …

6:00 - Don Henley.
Actually, if you like him in this, check out his Austin City Limits Show from last week, he was really good!

11:30 - Rhiannon Giddons.
Holy Moly! This woman raises Sister Rosetta Tharpe from the grave! She's amazing!

20:20 - Lee Ann Womak.
A 'scortcher' with Buddy Miller singing in back.

28:20 John Hyatt with Ry Cooder on the slide guitar.
Great song with Ry Cooder filling in the lead break.

37:15 - Keb Mo.
Paying homage the great B.B. King with a classic Memphis style blues song.

41:25 - Ry Cooder, Ricky Skaggs, and the White family.
Old fashioned gospel music. Ry on banjo is a real treat, and so is his singing the bass voice.

45:25 - Buddy Miller and Marc Ribot.
Don't miss this one! Classic Hank Williams at the Ryman Auditorium, live!

John Farnham - Age of Reason

From the day that we were born we've been heading down a track
Sometimes it's made for good sometimes for bad
But if we look behind us there's a wave coming down
Carrying us forward to a new age

What about the world around us
How can we fail to see
And now that our fathers have gone
And we've been left to carry on
What about the age of reason

So why can't we be still why can't we love each other
Is kindness an ancient skill buried by our blindness
And if we look behind us there's a wind blowing in
To create the age of reason

If we consider carefully the options put before us
So much wisdom so much love so much waiting for us
And if we look ahead there's the sun and the seasons
Another day another age of reason
