ECT Is it possible that after we have been saved we can. . .

We (humanity) cannot frustrate God's grace. He is omniscient.

God knew Saul would disobey. God needed Saul to know he would disobey. Samuel needed to know Saul would disobey.. God knew David would not slay Saul given multiple opportunities. David needed the lesson from Saul. Israel needed the lesson from Saul.

The lessons are for us, whether or not we are His people. For God's people, we get the OT...partially so that we do NOT repeat the same mistakes.

Well, that is your learned opinion. I say learned because that understanding is not in the Bible and you gleaned it somewhere else. No doubt, a commentary.

And grace and obedience are included in our "success."

Not if you frustrate it? . . . if I even read you correctly because of not being sure.

"I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain".
Galatians 2:21 (KJV)

If it wasn't possible, Paul would not happen spoken of it as a possibility.

Thats all. I'm done with this.

Exercise your God given freewill by making wrong choices in life and you will soon find out.

Brother...I am 55 years old and have not always made wise choices. I love Him (because He first loved me) and endeavor to always choose obedience. And because I am saved by grace, through faith, even when I make a mistake I won't lose my inheritance.

God's grace flows from eternity past to eternity future - regardless our actions. It's what's in our hearts and on our tongues that determines our destiny (Rom. 10).

Psalm 34
I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 My soul will make its boast in the Lord;
The humble will hear it and rejoice.
3 O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

4 I sought the Lord, and He answered me,
And delivered me from all my fears.

5 They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces will never be ashamed.

6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,
And rescues them.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!

9 O fear the Lord, you His saints;
For to those who fear Him there is no want.
10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger;
But they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.

11 Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

12 Who is the man who desires life
And loves length of days that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil
And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against evildoers,
To cut off the memory of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry, and the Lord hears
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones,
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.

God bless you.

Sorry to read you believe you can sin and get away with it, it doesn't matter to God, you won't suffer loss in any way. After all, God is love isn't He?.

It isn't about His mistakes but ours that He can't reward. If we knew Him, why would we make them, after all we say we love Him because He first loved us, right?

He is Love and more. He is also The righteous Judge.

1 John 1:9

And the wages of sin is still death.

And if I locked myself into a concrete box and did nothing but breath I would still be sinning, 24/7, because until I shed this body of death I am going to be a sinner..

Why don't you go read Spurgeon's sermon #207 and get back to me.

Don't need to read Spurgeon. He's a Baptist and can't get beyond the issue of salvation. I have his books collecting dust. Baptist are incomplete in their thinking and willfully so. If you are in such a church, leave.

You know...we all get a gift. None of us get all the gifts.

Just like none of us can know all things. You get some. I get some. Other people get some.

That's why we all need each other. Together we are the body of Christ. Apart we are just a hand or a foot.

When we start attaching labels to each other and getting puffed up over our own stuff we miss the beauty of the rest of the body.

Why don't you ditch your labeling system and just dance, and laugh and enjoy God's people?

We're called into "community" for a reason.

Why not start with yourself. All you have offered up is Baptist speak that divides the Church! You should know that what you say is really only deifying your church. I say this because you cannot say one thing I have written, that is wrong and be honest in your refutation. Sorry, it ain't there. Now ask yourself why?

Read the Oswald Chambers thread and take him into your thinking, instead of Spurgeon.

So we are supposed to forgive others before God will forgive us?

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Matthew 18:21-22

And after the parable to illustrate that point (interesting that Daniel 9 refers to 70 7's as well...) Jesus concludes thus :

So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
Matthew 18:35

If we are to forgive others on a daily basis, doesn't it follow that we require it as well?

Um...where did I do that?

DANG! Can't find that in ANY post of mine, either.

Refute what? Your OP was a question. I answered it.

I prefer Spurgeon, thank you.

Why don't you go do a study on "grace."

It's MUCH bigger than you think. Really.
