Hey RC,

Thought I'd pass on something that you might want to verify because this is something I heard, which was: that out of all the major news companies FOX News is the only one that isn't owned by Muslims.

that doesn't surprise me in the LEAST

and besides, I hate seeing Anderson Cooper's and Blitzer's strange, overly-somber look... Frankly, I find this kind of thing rather creepy... Sorry, just c alling it as I see it...

Martha McCallum... She exudes good vibes... as do most Fox commentators. The only one that occasionally gets on my nerves is that Kurtz dude... and then there is Shep who is said to be gay... Yikes...

Don't know McCallum or Kurtz. Been a long time since I actively watched the news believing that we are not actually getting what is truly going on. Maybe? Maybe Fox does report what's going on in the Muslim world? I don't know.

Seriously? You don't know if it's true... And you thought you'd pass it on? You really didn't think about taking 20 seconds to look it up to see whether or not it was true before you posted about it?

What's going on? Is there some sort of TOL fake news contest happening? Or are folks just trying to outdo the insanity of aCW's white supremacist fueled MLK thread?

that doesn't surprise me in the LEAST

Of course it doesn't surprise you. And of course you didn't bother looking into it before you believed it. But despite the alternate reality you live in, the 2nd largest owner of Fox News is Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal . Muslim. Particularly absurd is that Fox News has referred to his wealth as "terror money" and reported that he "funds radical madrassas all over the world."

I look forward to you chalking it up to liberal liars (redundant).

My apologies for having let you down.

If you'd like and want an explanation, I can give you one.

Hallelujah! Somebody has checked and verified all this!

Indeed.

See? As said previously (paraphrased) we can't rely on the News to actually give the info of what is really going on.

yes, i believe (know) this to be so, that those who hate Fox News are... hey, lost souls...

I mean, saying you hate Fox News is like saying you hate trees and rain and sunshine...

trees and rain and sunshine are part of reality

so is the news, and Fox tells us news that other channels do not begin to tell about... Lois Lerner scandal... Benghazi scandal...

and if that weren't bad enough, the other channels got Mr VirtualCommie elected...

i rest my case...

FYI The second largest shareholder in Fox news is Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal. He was also the investor that gave Rperd Murdoc the start up capital for Fox news.

He is most famous for his quote: "A strong American Government is not good for us."

If you think taxes are theft then don't pay them. You can explain it to the judge.

It's referred to as "thinning the herd" or culling.

[Edit] In addition, if you're of the opinion that FDR was a Socialist because of the New Deal you really don't understand the history. Between the turn of the century and the 30s the country economy much like it has since the late 1970s. The wealthy had squeezed the working class through low wages. Then, because the average worker had difficulty supplying the needs of their families, the same wealthy robber-barons who held down the wages would use the profits from that practice to loan easy money to the workers knowing that they could never pay it all back, hence the term "wage slavery". Meanwhile, the financial sector raked in what was then record profits. Since there was no separation between commercial and investment banks the bankers gambled wildly with depositors deposits in order to further increase their profits.

Also back then discussing alternative economic structures was not taboo. Because of the growing discontent with the status quo, and memories of earlier recessions, Communism and Socialism were gaining traction. By 1929 the imbalance of wealth had become so wide that we were approaching a tipping point. When the market crashed it was enough to push popular opinion against Capitalism and people were seriously considering alternatives.

Roosevelt, a member of the upper class won election on a populist platform. He was not a Socialist; he was a pragmatist. He could see how revolution was imminent, and that Capitalism might well be in its last days, so he gathered the wealthiest businessmen and bankers together with an ultimatum...either get behind his efforts to compromise with the other factions offering them programs and solutions to turn things around and give them a seat at the table, or watch while everything they had accumulated disappeared. About half went along, while the other half fought change with everything they had. They and their decendants spent the remainder of the century working to reverse all the changes to return to "the good ol' days", at least if you were one of them. The Reagan administration, and then the GW Bush administration made their dream come true. Then came the most recent crash.

"People who don't like Fox News are ungodly!"

The primary owner of the parent company of Fox News is Rupert Murdoch. The second-largest holder of voting stock is Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, a nephew of the Saudi king, who has generously donated money to the Imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf. In addition to having the controvertial Moslem mosque built near the site of 9/11, Rauf refuses to concede that Hamas is a terrorist organization and stated that "I wouldn't say that the United States deserved what happened. But the United States' policies were an accessory to the crime that happened" after 9/11.

Last Friday the British tabloid "The Sun," another of Rupert Murdoch's acquisitions, decided that it would dispense with its 44 year tradition of featuring topless women on page 3. The newspaper did decide, however, that it would continue to carry images of topless women online.
