The problem is the cartels are just doing what many a government has ever since the discovery of drugs and "Rockefeller pee". Money is money regardless of the source of income for those who worship it. That's why we were/are in Afghanistan and Central America. Oil and drugs. Those who control our federal government are using this resource to interface with the cartels for profit ... at the expense of the people they claim to serve.

The Border Patrol themselves are telling anyone that will listen that they have been told to stand down.

I only know one person who works for the Border Patrol, and she hasn't mentioned it. Checkable source?

Are you referring to the order that agents shouldn't shoot people throwing rocks at them, or fleeing in a vehicle, unless these present an immediate danger of serious injury or death?

Pretty much the same thing police tell their officers. No orders to "stand down", though. If anything, enforcement has increased over the last few years, something immigration activists have been criticizing the president for doing. However, the focus on capturing and deporting criminals has resulted in fewer deportations of those who are here working and behaving themselves, and more deportations of those who are engaging in criminal activity.

Which also seems like a good idea to me. And not bad, considering that republicans, two years ago, slashed the budget for immigration enforcement:
But even as GOP lawmakers demand tighter border enforcement as a prerequisite for comprehensive immigration reform legislation, Republicans in the House have approved a 2012 budget that seems to undermine that goal.

The House voted mostly along party lines over the weekend to slash spending by an estimated $600 million for border security and immigration enforcement for the remainder of this fiscal year.

The budget allocates $350 million less for border security fencing, infrastructure and technology than Congress approved last year, and $124 million below what the Department of Homeland Security requested.

It appears that republicans see immigration issues as an opportunity for some political theater.

For those of us too lazy or intellectually dishonest to do our own googling ...

Better yet, google "catch and release" ... that's been going on a whole lot longer. Yes, the republicans are complicitous in this ... so, does that make it a non-issue?

Obama is a lawless man as are the Democrats/liberals/socialists/communists in general

Obama is sowing confusion.

He causes the problem so that he can be the hero who solves the problem according to his unAmerican and unConstitutional motives.

He wants to remake America in his own image

Rahm Immanuel said something like, never let a crisis go to waste.

For the unAmerican big government types, a crisis is the way to pass more laws and rob more people of their inalienable rights

Obama wants to start a crisis so that he can at the least make more laws, win more votes, specifically, the illegals he gives amnesty to

If his crisis by design, he may be able to stir up violence, declare martial law and take over as a dictator. Hillary won't be elected, Obama wants permanent control

Spiritually, our adversary, the Devil, is working in these politicians to continue to suppress God's word as lived and practices by Christians

The site that doctored the words of a woman in order to portray her as a racist? The one that got sued as a result?

Let's take a look at that article:
By - The Washington Times - Friday, May 13, 2005

U.S. Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers, The Washington Times has learned.

More than a dozen agents, all of whom asked not to be identified for fear of retribution, said orders relayed by Border Patrol supervisors at the Naco, Ariz., station made it clear that arrests were “not to go up” along the 23-mile section of border that the volunteers monitored to protest illegal immigration.

It's true, but Bush did it. Notice the date. Obama has since rescinded the order; it's one of the reasons more people are being removed under Obama. And more of them are getting nailed at the border before they can actually enter:

http://www.politifact.com/punditfac...bbs-obama-administration-manipulated-deporta/

Again, a pretty good thing, in my estimation. And notice that every year under Obama had more removals than the best year under Bush.

Bottom line? There was such an order, but it was by the previous administration, and as you can see from the increase enforcement, that order has been rescinded by Obama. You were correct, just nine years too late.

In the words of a pretty fair song writer ... "still a man hears what he wants to hear and he disregards the rest." As long as you allow yourself to be manipulated by those who offer false dichotomies such as the left/right WWF matches offered up on the daily news you will be forever constrained by this world view.

Discern the matrix or be entrapped in it ... the choice is always yours.

There are facts, and your world view, whatever it is, should conform to them, or at least be consistent with them.

Discern the matrix or be entrapped in it ... the choice is always yours.

Hence, evidence. It's not perfect but it beats unsupported wishing.

You reach for statistics for evidence ... Samuel Clements had what I think is a pertinent observation concerning statistics.

Why don't you come on down here and get a dose of reality?

Facts might be annoying things, but they have the virtue of being true. Or the drawback of being true, depending on what you want to believe. But whatever it is you're selling, it should at least be consistent with those facts.

Why don't you come on down here and get a dose of reality?

You live in The Valley? One of my favorite places. Know where this one is?

It gets very real there.

Hint: you have to pull your car across the Rio Grande on a raft made of wood and 55 gal. drums at the entry point.

I'm closer to Acuna where my wife's cousin got her husband and his little brother delivered in pieces ...

and by the way, did it ever occur to you that your little graph doesn't so much reflect the effort of any given president but an increase in the sheer volume of people arriving over time?

Yes facts are interesting little buggers.

Then you must be very happy that the INS is now focusing on the criminals here illegally, instead of the people who are here illegally, and behaving themselves.

Given that Obama's stated intentions are to focus on the dangerous illegal immigrants, and to work harder on catching them at the border, it's unsurprising that the immigration service is doing a better job of doing that.

but an increase in the sheer volume of people arriving over time?

Actually, the flow slowed down during the Bush recession, because there weren't as many jobs available. Would you like me to show you that?

Which makes the marked increase in deportations under Obama even more remarkable, um?

Yes facts are interesting little buggers.

Indeed. If you're careless they'll bite you on the rump.

if nobody was here illegally, they wouldn't have to focus on the "criminals"

(leaving aside, of course, the typical libtard disconnect exhibited by barbie that doesn't consider "illegal" to be criminal :chuckle: )

Yeah buddy, if we could just get rid of that pesky 22nd amendment he could go on for life and eventually save us all. Salvation via the right political demigod. Good luck with that.

I often wonder why some republicans came up with that fantasy. I guess the shock of learning that Americans don't like them very much made them a bit paranoid. You lost the last two elections. It's not like you'll never win another one.

"Right" is probably not a good choice of words there. Neither, it seems, is "demigod." It only appears so because his predecessor was such a disaster. I think Obama will be rated mediocre or slightly below, in the long run.

Meantime, your party needs to get cracking, and find a candidate that won't be so easy to beat next time.

Good luck with that.

I don't know who the "you" and "your" is you are referring to here. I am not a registered voter and as I have often said only one guy has my vote and when he gets here He won't need it.
