Making Christ omnipotent for easy salvation!
Christ is not omnipotent as he can’t do everything. He confessed his limitations. Even God, the best unity of good is not omnipotent as He can’t destroy Himself. Nothing can be omnipotent. But God, the greatest unity, is the nearest. Smaller the unities, further they are from it.
Christ always stressed on our actions of love. He said “follow me carrying your cross.” Faith practice is actually love-practice, which strengthens faith in us. Only love-practice strengthens love in our soul, which in turn love-integrates our soul parts empowering us within and with Christ. Then no suffering or death can break apart our soul destroying it. That is salvation. No one can give it from outside as in the case of learning. But Christ can help from outside like a teacher.
But the fake preachers greedy for popularity presented the idea of a fake Christ of cheap grace, who can grant us salvation with the minimal work of just confessing him vocally (of course no one can inspect confessors’ hearts to warn him). Then salvation will be automatic! Faith in the heart counts and that too comes by practice of faith by love-works. Never by flattery-worship as Christ or Father never seek it. But we need it to orient our hearts to them. If that orientation doesn’t produce love-works it is futile.

Salvation by faith only doctrine is a suicidal caricature of Christianity. Though, this fake faith can give an initial peace of mind, even short euphoria, but it never regenerates. Europe’s and European heritage people’s rapid spiritual degeneration is the root of it. Bonheoffer accused that cheap Christianity for the degeneration of the German nation and rise of Hitler. Now their degeneration is so much that it is about to destroy humanity by ultimate weapons. That fake faith-only-Christianity has turned into a destroyer than a saver.

It is time to turn to cross bearing Christianity. Though ease loving humanity will reject that, let it be. Then their sins wouldn’t be in the name of Christ. He never came to be popular but to proclaim the truth often unpalatable. So he was crucified and Bonhoeffer was hanged. Let us not to be guided by the greed of acceptance or fear of rejection.

Let those greedy for acceptance popular preachers make easy caricature of Christ for destruction. We can’t stop them but shouldn’t stop announcing that they are wolf in sheep’s’ skin.

You might be onto something.

Let’s see what they have to say.

the word........

Christ is not omnipotent as he can’t do everything. He confessed his limitations.

True, for Jesus could only do what was in his will and power, within the providence, potential and possibilities that were available to him within the constraints of his constitution. He admitted his sole dependence on the Father, as the Greater One to whom he was subordinate.

Even God, the best unity of good is not omnipotent as He can’t destroy Himself.

The term 'omnipotent' then would be subject to qualification. 'God' in his nature still mantains the attributes of omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience as classically held (the 3 omnis). God has all power to do what is truly possible within the laws of his 'being' and 'existence'. Since that 'Being' is innately indestructible....it cannot be destroyed.

Nothing can be omnipotent.

Depends on how you define the term and what qualifications you assign it. However,...'God' still holds his omni-hood of being All-Power, the source and motivator of all that is, and all that will be. 'God' is Power....and the source of all relative powers and forces serving creation.

But God, the greatest unity, is the nearest. Smaller the unities, further they are from it.

'God' as a cosmic unity is universally one, yes. Man is a unity as well imaged or formed out from 'God', an individual localized expression thereof.

Agreed, faith without works is dead. Love fulfills itself thru action.

Prayer and confession may be a start, but he who endures to the end shall be 'saved'. Those who do the will of God, shall enter the kingdom.

It comes down to integrity, a genuine desire for truth, a hunger for real knowlede, divine wisdom, understanding, light. True religious living and ideals calls for righteous acts and service. There is no substitute for such. Truly inspired 'faith' will bear the fruit of good works...or it is no faith at all.

your well thought answers are irrefutable.
Still the idea of an omnipotent Father God stifles children’s growth as we see in overbearing parent ruled families. Children are to make up some limitations of parents in time and space. Actually omnipotent idea of God came from the feudal age’s kings.
But Christ’s father image of God is different from it. As Christ became weak for our spiritual growth’s sake, so becomes Father too. Namaste
