Only a Few will be Saved !

    Matt 7:14

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, andfew there be that find it.

Life here I believe is Eternal Life with God throughout Eternity. Its the same Life referred to here Matt 18:8

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter intolife halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

See the alternative ? Everlasting fire !

Or when Jesus said the young man who asked Matt 19:16

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

Jesus in His reponse says Matt 19:17

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Jesus unequivocally states that few will find Life ! Which is Eternal Life.

Now few is in contrast to many. Even though there will be a numerous multitude of saved souls Rev 7:9,10

    9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Its still few, a small fraction of the many many people who have populated the world from its commencement until the last day.

Many false teachers teach universalism, that all men will eventually be saved and enter into life, eternal life, but thats a lie against the truth.

Jesus also says that some shall not see Life Jn 3:36

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life[Eternal Life]; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Folks if Jesus says they shall not see Life, you can believe they shall not see life !

a nickname to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the gospel, and nothing else."

1 Timothy 2:3-4 King James Version (KJV)
    3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.

Jesus predicted that right at the time of His second coming the conditions will be similar to the days of noah, Matt 24:37

But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

One of the characteristics of noahs day was very few were saved 1 Pet 3:20

which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Amen Brother ! The Few that shall find Eternal Life Mat. 7:14 are exclusive to God's Elect; the People He had Chosen In Union with Christ [His Sheep] Mat. 1:21 to be holy and without blame before Him in Love Eph. 1:3-4.

And it's because of that Fact alone, that when Christ Lived and Died it was on their behalf, and so were made Righteous; He Redeemed them from all iniquity Titus 2:14, so none could ever be held against them. Hence for them, God's wrath was eternally appeased !

Rom. 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

They were reconciled to God by His Blood even while being His enemies and unbelievers, thus always Favoured by Him !

    Rom. 5:8-10

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Contrarily though, all others, unregenerates [goats] shall not see life [never had eternal life], but were condemned already; for the wrath of God abideth upon them John 3:36. They shall at the Final Judgment hear these words:

Mat. 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

These reprobates, seed of the serpent John 8:44; Mat. 23:33; Seed of the wicked Ps. 37:28; Mat. 13:38; ungodly men 2 Pet. 3:7; vessels of God's wrath Rom. 9:22 shall not see life, they never had it and never will !

Amen ! When we see according to scripture that only 8 souls were saved 1 Pet. 3:20 in the days of Noah, supposing there was possibly over a billion people on the earth, and taking into consideration a possible 800 yr. lifespan, and other factors, it means less than 1% were saved.

    That's very few indeed !

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

I had no idea the Apostle Peter was pursuing rabbit trails? The things one can learn from beloved57 is staggering!

“In Romans 5, the justification is co-extensive with the condemnation. Since all share in one, all share in the other. If only a certain portion of the human race had partaken of the sin of Adam, only a certain portion would partake of the justification of Christ. But St. Paul affirms all to have been involved in one, and all to be included in the other.” -John A.D. Mauricq-

    Romans 5

"You know the story of how Adam landed us in the dilemma we’re in—first sin, then death, and no one exempt from either sin or death. That sin disturbed relations with God in everything and everyone, but the extent of the disturbance was not clear until God spelled it out in detail to Moses.

So death, this huge abyss separating us from God, dominated the landscape from Adam to Moses. Even those who didn’t sin precisely as Adam did by disobeying a specific command of God still had to experience this termination of life, this separation from God. But Adam, who got us into this, also points ahead to the One who will get us out of it.

Yet the rescuing gift is not exactly parallel to the death-dealing sin. If one man’s sin put crowds of people at the dead-end abyss of separation from God, just think what God’s gift poured through one man, Jesus Christ, will do!

There’s no comparison between that death-dealing sin and this generous, life-giving gift.

The verdict on that one sin was the death sentence; the verdict on the many sins that followed was this wonderful life sentence. If death got the upper hand through one man’s wrongdoing, can you imagine the breathtaking recovery life makes, sovereign life, in those who grasp with both hands this wildly extravagant life-gift, this grand setting-everything-right, that the one man Jesus Christ provides?

Here it is in a nutshell:

Just as one person did it wrong and got us in all this trouble with sin and death, another person did it right and got us out of it. But more than just getting us out of trouble, he got us into life! One man said no to God and put many people in the wrong; one man said yes to God and put many in the right." -The Message-

Me neither, i was referring to you !

“In Romans 5, the justification is co-extensive with the condemnation. Since all share in one, all share in the other.
Simple, All Adam represented is All in Adam, and All Christ represented were all in Christ. Christ isnt the federal head of all mankind without exception, but specifically His Church or His Sheep. Eph 5:23

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

You obviously have disregarded Christ words here Matt 7:14

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Obviously! So has St. Peter, but what does he know?

"Who shall render an account unto him who is holding in readiness to judge living and dead; for, unto this end, even unto the dead, was the glad-message delivered,—in order that they might be judged, indeed, according to men in flesh, but might live according to God in spirit."

Obviously! So has St. Peter, but what does he know?
Things are fine with Peter, Your problem is that you dont accept what Jesus said. Read Matt 7:13-14

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

a nickname to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the gospel, and nothing else."

For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”

Therefore, as by the offense of one, etc. - The Greek text of this verse is as follows: - Αρα ουν, ὡς δι 'ἑνος παραπτωματος, εις παντας ανθρωπους εις κατακριμα· αυτω και ἑνος δικαιωματος, εις παντας ανθρωπους, εις δικαιωσιν ζωης ; which literally rendered stands thus: - Therefore, as by one offense unto all men, unto condemnation; so likewise, by one righteousness unto all men, to justification of life. This is evidently an elliptical sentence, and its full meaning can be gathered only from the context. He who had no particular purpose to serve would, most probably, understand it, from the context, thus: - Therefore, as by one sin all men came into condemnation; so also by one righteous act all men came unto justification of life: which is more fully expressed in the following verse. Now, leaving all particular creeds out of the question, and taking in the scope of the apostle’s reasoning in this and the preceding chapter, is not the sense evidently this? - Through the disobedience of Adam, a sentence of condemnation to death, without any promise or hope of a resurrection, passed upon all men; so, by the obedience of Christ unto death, this one grand righteous act, the sentence was so far reversed, that death shall not finally triumph, for all shall again be restored to life. Justice must have its due; and therefore all must die. The mercy of God, in Christ Jesus, shall have its due also; and therefore all shall be put into a salvageable state here, and the whole human race shall be raised to life at the great day. Thus both justice and mercy are magnified; and neither is exalted at the expense of the other. -Adam Clarke-
