    Evangelism and Evangelists

Do evangelists build up the church or share the gospel with those outside of the church? Evangelism is sharing the gospel with unbelievers. An Evangel is one who shares the good news with others.

Evangelists might preach in areas other congregants never go to or just in churches other than their home church. Pastors, for the most part: preach to their own congregation, but God also uses them as evangelists, pretty much like He uses all Christians, to reach others outside their comfort-zone. Teachers will usually stay in their own congregation. Prophets may go wherever The Lord leads them and Apostles will usually be about starting or overseeing churches. The five-fold ministry gifts are NEVER described as being done-away with as dispensationalists claim the nine gifts of the spirit have been (they haven't, they're still in operation today, although NOT in any dispensationalists, especially so for the word of wisdom).

    Good to think about.
