I predict that the Republicans will sweep back into power in both houses this fall. Conservatives will get very excited for a while but will mostly be let down. There will therefore be very little for Conservatives to get excited about in 2012 and Obama will be reelected.

Part of me says... no way are people going to be that stupid as to elect this moron for another 4 years.

You're talking about Bush right? Either that our you mis-spoke "people are going to be smart enough as to elect this gifted
brilliant leader for another 4 years..."

But then another part of me says.... people are dumb and they have short attention spans. Plus the Repub's will probably put up some asinine candidate like Romney and Obama will have a good shot at reelection.

Lots of good choices. How 'bout Cheney / Cheney? How 'bout
Palin / Bachman? That would be fun to watch. Plunge us into a
true re-enactment of the dark ages. Create a serf class to the evangelical overlords. Teach kids how the earth is a 6000 year old pancake, re-enact stoning of gays and adulteresses. That is, kids in families who can afford private schools, because public schools will be abolished. We'd have to bring back soup lines and hospital beds at monasteries for the millions who can't afford food or healthcare. We could bring back the rack so that Jews will again have the right incentive to convert!

Ah, but the pesky plague will be the great equalizer. No regard for wealth or political persuasion, the just reward for neglect of the least and the lost.

Then, maybe after another hundred years of darkness, a democrat will again be elected. Artists will again be supported, education and healthcare will again be made available to everyone, and another rennaisance will occur.

But until then, Palin / Bachman for President!

It's too early to tell. So much can happen. How will the economy be? Will we be involved in some new war with Iran? Is the Tea Party movement still prevalent or will it have died out by then?

Another big factor that was mentioned is who the Republicans will have running.

I feel like it's a toss up at the moment but if forced to make a decision - he'll get re-elected because the Republicans will have another ticket that doesn't really get conservatives excited and doesn't sway enough independents.

I largely concur with Kmo. If the economy takes a dump, or if there’s another terrorist attack, or if a scandal erupts, all bets are off. It’ll really depend on the quality of the competition and the unforseen revelations, gaffes, moments of stupid, and moments of wit you encounter on the campaign trail.

Knight: "BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA?"
Can you be any more one-sided and biased in your 'TOL Topic of the Day'?
Sozo: "Will he live that long?"
Is that really what you would want 'Christian'? Would you like to see a bullet in the President's head? Do you realize how that would send our country catastrophically south in a heartbeat?
Dr. Brumley: "Paul/Keyes = Jefferson/Hamilton"???
Something tells me that a Keyes/Paul wouldn't sit so well with some of the regs. Do you sit around with your buds making this stuff up?
I want the Prez out. But the GOP will probably offer up some stiff. (In that I agree with the TOL far-right, pro-white (my perception) folks on board here.
I admit I'm scared to death but the far-right crapola would be just as bad as what we've been served up with and therein lies the 'rub'.
I'm a 'keep politics out of the pulpit' guy. Abortion/Feeding the poor/Gay agenda be damned! We have to deal with those things against our country's future.
I've NEVER seen our country so divided.

I hate to give the Obama administration credit for foresight, especially since I believe that every move a politician makes is geared toward re-election, but the fact that the stimulus bill was designed to be doled out over an extended period of time has prevented, so far, hyper-inflation. Not only that, a huge amount of it is to be spent just in time for the mid-term elections. If Obama and the Dems can enact enough legislation between now and 2012 to ensure that a majority of people receive either their paycheck or cash/cash-equivalent benefits from the government, we could be in for another Obama term.

Of course, it is a fact of economics that central planners cannot acurately predict the actions of human beings in a 'free' market, even one as encumbered as ours. That said, I guess they could miscalculate and the economy could take a turn for worse. The recipients of the government's largesse might turn on the bureaucrats if the well runs dry...

What are you rambling on about?

Pro-white? You some kind of racist or something?

On that we agree.

My view is the states are soverign. What's yours?

I've NEVER seen our country so divided.

No question about it. And the Dems and Libs and socialists are the ones who want it this way.

Yes. He could have said: "Barack Liar Hussein Obama". Maybe even throw a "ProAbort" in there, too. "Socialist" would fit nicely between "Hussein" and "Obama", too...Knight could have thrown that in there.

But of course that would have been wrong of Knight to have done, because owners of internet forums are supposed to be completely unbiased in everything they post.

I'm looking for a Paul/Keyes campaign! :D

I can't even fathom that, could never happen since they are mutually exclusive. Keyes would never run with Paul, based on the fact that Paul is anti-personhood and has a severe misunderstanding of the Constitution centered on fallacious and imaginary "states rights."

It's an interesting fantasy, though.

Paul doesn't understand? More the other way around

And as far as personhood goes, your out in left field. Stay out there.

Anyone whose most significant and central proposed change in government centers on the fallacious idea that we would not only deny the personhood of the unborn but would also unconstitutionally prohibit the federal courts from upholding the 5th and 14th amendments of the U.S. Constitution is thereby guilty of a fatal error in his understanding of the Constitution.

Or do you think the federal courts should henceforth cease to have the authority to rule on multiple parts of the federal Constitution?

Or, God forbid, do you hold to the mythological concept of so-called "states rights?"

Will he live that long? :idunno:

Right . . .something happens to Obama, you get Biden . . .that's not an improvement . . something happens to Biden you get Nancy Pelosi . . . . DEFINITELY not an improvement. If anyone were to do anything to Obama, they're obviously a complete idiot.

I think barring any massively jarring events, Obama stands a good chance of getting re-elected. I've yet to see any republican candidate that stands a chance.

Alan Keyes? :rotfl:
