    A Study in the Effects of the Law Upon You

    Because of the law of the land and the force of law this could also be included in Politics. But because of the religious aspect of God's Law I have included it in Religion. Certainly God's Word should be involved in Politics, but between the two I would rather have God than not knowing how to approach this matter.

    Let's discuss the effects of the law upon you. From the use of force in law keeping to God's Law not being abolished and the old covenant becoming obsolete, what are the highlights of how we might think about how we think and how we are affected? We may think something but how true is it? For example, God's Law is so good that no one is saved by it. And yet keeping the law makes more sense than antinomianism. If you have ever felt the law, what was it that you felt? Has anyone ever been hurt or injured by God's Law?

    Here is the 13th chapter of Paul's letter to the Romans, which may help us.

    Romans 13:1-14 NASB - 1 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. 3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; 4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. 5 Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience' sake. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for [rulers] are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing. 7 Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax [is due;] custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor. 8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled [the] law. 9 For this, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of [the] law. 11 [Do] this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. 12 The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to [its] lusts.
    Bereishit - Genesis - Chapter 1

    1 In the beginning of God's creation of the heavens and the earth.
    :א בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית בָּרָ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְאֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ

    In beginning He created God the heavens and the earth

    Why take ye thought for raiment?

    When keeping God's law we replace the thoughts we used to take with His statutes and judgments,
    that we be clothed in His saying.

    I found the 26th chapter of Leviticus helpful.
    And it describes how His people shall feel when they keep His law.

    If ye walk in My statutes, and keep My commandments, and do them;
    Then I will give you rain in due season,
    and the land shall yield her increase,
    and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
    And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage,
    and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time:
    and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
    And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid:
    and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

    Leviticus 26

    Glory to God.

    More effects of keeping the law.

    And it shall come to pass,
    if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God,
    to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day,
    that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
    And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee,
    if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
    Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
    Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle,
    the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
    Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
    Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
    The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face:
    they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
    The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto;
    and He shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
    The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto Himself, as He hath sworn unto thee,
    if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in His ways.
    And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD;
    and they shall be afraid of thee.
    And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods,
    in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground,
    in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
    The LORD shall open unto thee His good treasure,
    the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand:
    and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
    And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail;
    and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath;
    if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God,
    which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
    And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day,
    to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

    Deuteronomy 28:1-14

    This convinced me to give it a go,
    and found all God's words to be 100% correct.
    Thank God.
