Saved from punishment? An aversion to war and punish or present the gospel.

Is it civil law that involves the law of a nation? Its citizens know to love their neighbor as themself, as their own self.

When we cross a border or boundary with the law there is punishment by the law as well, where there is justice, unless the gospel can keep someone from being punished. So, can it?

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23.

May your travels be in peace. May you not fear the law in your doing of good.
    Bereishit - Genesis - Chapter 1

1 In the beginning of God's creation of the heavens and the earth.
    :א בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית בָּרָ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְאֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ

In beginning He created God the heavens and the earth

The problem is when we are drawn into something. We are safe at home and see evil abroad.
