    Trump Has His Wall Money

President Trump is soooooo smart. . . How smart is he? President Trump is so smart he found a loophole. He has all the money he needs. He didn't just realize it this morning, he knew all along. Genius !!!

President Trump tried Sunday to strike an upbeat tone about the $1.3 trillion budget he recently signed that includes a hefty $700 billion for the military, but only a fraction of the roughly $18 billion he sought for the border wall.
“Because of the $700 & $716 Billion Dollars gotten to rebuild our Military, many jobs are created and our Military is again rich,” Trump tweeted. “Building a great Border Wall, with drugs (poison) and enemy combatants pouring into our Country, is all about National Defense. Build WALL through M!”

The president has taken criticism from both ends of the political spectrum for the congressional budget deal he signed last week, with conservatives complaining it increases the federal deficit to more than $1 trillion, while Democrats crow about Trump getting only $1.6 billion for national security and building his U.S.-Mexico border wall.
TRUMP, GOP LEADERS FACE BACKLASH OVER $1.3 TRILLION SPENDING PACKAGE
The president sought $18 billion for his border wall, but the plan includes just $1.6 billion. Trump said on Twitter that it's "just a down payment" and the "rest of the money will come."

He said Mexico was going to pay for it, too. And you believed him. Now he abandons that scam and says the money will come, and you believe him again.

    There's one born every minute.

Fact check: Trump says spending bill starts work on his border wall. It doesn't.
The money earmarked for border security can be used only to repair and build previously approved fencing.
But Trump's claim — that the $1.6 billion triggers work starting on the wall he's promised — is false. The funds earmarked for border protection construction and improvements can be used only to repair and build previously approved fencing, according to the bill. There is $38 million in funds earmarked for their planning and design of border walls, but none for the construction of a new kind of wall like the prototypes Trump recently toured in San Diego.

The construction funding "shall only be available for operationally effective designs deployed as of the date of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017 ... such as the currently deployed steel bollard designs," the bill reads, referring to last year's funding bill in early May, before Trump's border wall prototypes had even been built.

Forget Mexico, Trump Can’t Even Get Congress To Pay For His Wall
Spending plan for the rest of this budget year doesn’t include any money for Trump’s biggest campaign promise.

WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump hasn’t been able to make Mexicans pay for his long-promised wall along the southern border, and now it appears that Americans won’t be paying for it, either.

Absent from the $1.3 trillion spending plan for the budget year that runs through Sept. 30 is any money for the construction of a border wall. At one point, Trump and his advisers had been pushing for $25 billion for the project.

House Speaker Paul Ryan’s office Wednesday evening touted $1.6 billion in the bill that would pay for “physical barriers and infrastructure, and funding for related technology and personnel” along 95 miles. And Trump himself tweeted later that night: “Got $1.6 Billion to start Wall on Southern Border, rest will be forthcoming.”
    ...
But Democrats pointed out that only $641 million of that money is designated for 33 miles of “new fencing or levees” ― specifically not a concrete wall. The rest of the money is for repairing or replacing existing fencing or border security technology.
    ...
The White House press office did not respond to a HuffPost query regarding the lack of wall money in the omnibus bill. Earlier Wednesday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders released a statement generally praising the spending plan that had still not been finalized.

Trump’s budget director, Mick Mulvaney, predicted during a February White House briefing that the border wall money was essentially contingent on Trump and Congress agreeing on a DACA fix. Without such a deal, he said, “Congress will never give us the money.”

Congress called his bluff on DACA. He's not getting his wall, and if he carries through on his treat to hold DACA kids hostage for the wall, he's in a world of hurt. Even most people on the right acknowledge the need to find a way to legally keep those people here.

Awwww... he's mad again. Don't get mad. Get smart. Instead of falling for fake news like that, learn to do a little checking, and try thinking for yourself.

It might save you a lot of embarrassment.

Legal or not, Trump's wall is already being built — High Country News

    https://www.hcn.org/.../us-mexican-border-legal-or-not-trumps-border-wall-is-already...
On January 25, 2017, five days after being sworn into office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order authorizing the immediate construction of a physical wall on the southern border of the United States. After delays — due in part to contractor battles — preliminary work on construction has begun in California, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas, leading to concerns ranging from states’ rights to environmental destruction.+

Editor’s note: On Feb. 27, 2018, U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel found that the Department of Homeland Security is acting within its authority in waiving federal regulations to fast-track border wall construction.
