Is the Ark of the Covenant in Ethiopia?

    excerpt: https://aleteia.org/2017/09/15/is-th...y-in-ethiopia/

After the destruction of the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem, no one knows for sure where the Ark of the Covenant ended up, but what is certain is that almost 45 million Ethiopian Orthodox Christians (part of the Coptic tradition) are convinced that the Ark of the Covenant was taken about 3,000 years ago to Aksum, in northern Ethiopia, and has since been jealously cared for by these monks in the modest church of Saint Mary of Zion.
According to the Coptic tradition, the Queen of Sheba (whose visit to Solomonís palace is noted in Scripture and celebrated in art) and King Solomon had a son: Menelik I, the founder of a dynasty of Solomonic emperors who, for three thousand years, ruled Ethiopia. He, Menelik, would have personally been in charge of moving the precious chest made of gold and acacia wood.

Yes, the Copts insist they have the Ark, but won't let anyone see it to corroborate. Mmmmm hmmmm....

Fun fact: if the Ark was built to the specifications given in the Bible, the weight of the mercy seat, which was made of gold, would crush a box made of wood in a short time. Unless "acacia wood" has durability similar to steel, or the Biblical specifications are somehow wrong, the Ark no longer exists...

    Who cares?

"Then it shall come to pass when you are multiplied and increased in the land in those days, says the Lord, that they will say no more, the ark of the covenant of the Lord. It shall not come to mind, nor shall they remember it, nor shall they visit it, nor shall it be made anymore." (Jeremiah 3:16)

    Forget about it.

The Antichrist will seat himself in the Mercy Seat and declare that he is God.

PS: now a case could be made that the mercy seat will be missing in the Millennial Temple (Ezekiel's Temple).

Nowhere in the bible does it specifically say antichrist will sit on the "mercy seat". It states antichrist will sit in the temple of God. Antichrist will be a deceptive religious power ... an established religious system that considers itself equal to or above God himself. It's going to be from "inside" a church power.

    John 1

18Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. 19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.

That's because you don't know your Bible, Armstrong.

And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
BTW, the "abomination of desolation" has already occurred once... under Antiochus Epiphanes when the Greeks controlled Israel. So everyone knew precisely what Daniel was speaking of... except you. There was only one place to "sit" in the Tabernacle (and Temple proper), and that was the "mercy seat".

PS: The abomination by Antiochus is detailed in Daniel 11:31, the 11th chapter is past history. Maccabees records the event.
