    TRAINS! Anybody else like them?

I am headed out on my third cross-county train trip tomorrow.

Are there others who like trains here?

I love to hear them go by in the distance, but I've never ridden on one.

They cover some beautiful scenery in the US.

This trip is Chicago to Seattle, then a layover, then down to Los Angeles, with roomettes in the sleeper car.

I used to before all the derailments in WA state. I'll likely never ride another (maybe a steam engine though).

If you want to be true to God and Jesus, abandon any kind of violence at all cost. By advocating any kind of violence, you are misrepresenting Christianity.

I have ridden on Steam Trains a number of times, in fact more often than diesel. I rode a diesel only once. Talk about irony. Yes I enjoy trains, but I can't say I enjoy people that obsess over them. I find most of them a bit prickly and childish. There are a few exception to this rule.

My dad was a railroad man, so we traveled a lot by train. It's a pleasant and civilized way to go, and Mrs. Barbarian and I enjoy riding them.

By the time I was old enough to notice, the old steam engines were just about gone; electric diesels ruled.

Good to see that there's more track being laid now; high-speed rail between cities would be a great way to deal with infrastructure problems.
Let's say that I suffer from a delusion. I will call this delusion "Fact-check Syndrome." I respond by citing facts.

Most people online don't want to be corrected. They do not care about anything that does not agree with them.
