Now yah nevah seen a snake when trakin deer, and took out yah six shooter to make short of a critter, cause you a Christian? What kind of Christian don't mind mama and papa? What kind of nitwit shoots snakes on sight? My uncle, who owned a farm near the river where there were limestone cliffs and lots of rattlesnakes, warned me never to shoot them. The more snakes, the fewer rodents, he said.

And he wanted them away from his corn crib.

I'm with Barbarian on this one. I'd rather steer clear of a snake than kill it. Unless, of course, I want to catch it and keep it as a pet.
