"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word" (Eph.5:26).
The Lord's words to Nicodemus were in regard to being "born again" and here Peter tells us exactly how a person is born again:
"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God...And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you" (1 Pet.1:23).
Here the Lord Jesus' words speak how a person is born of the word and the Spirit:
"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life" (Jn.6:63).
Today believers are born of the Spirit when they believe the gospel which comes in the Holy Spirit:
"For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirt, and in much assurance" (1 Thess.1:5).
"And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name" (Jn.20:30-31).

And as they traversed according to the Way, they came to a certain water; and the eunuch said, Behold, water! (Isa 54:9).
When we look at the conversion of Cornelius, after hearing the word of the Lord and being given the Holy Spirit Peter commands them to be baptized.
Acts 10:47 "Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.
Again, the jailer. They told him the word of the Lord and was baptized.
Acts 16:32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family.
Again, the conversion of the men in Ephesus, we see that they were taught accurately the things concerning Jesus with one exception. Paul doesn't question the good news they heard about Jesus. He considers them believers, but he doesn't give them the Holy Spirit until they have been properly baptized in Jesus' name. Acts 18:24-19:6
To help us understand how Christians are converted, the bible gives us about 12 examples through out Acts all the way into Paul's last journey and each time they were baptized in the name of Jesus just as Jesus instructed on how to make Christians.
Wretched man that I am.
Are you not even aware that when we are made alive with Christ we are saved:
"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved" (Eph.2:4-5).
You Calvinists do not even understand the most basic things in regard to how a person receives spiritual life.
