Why are millions starving while grains and corn are in surplus?

Something is terribly wrong with civilization. Surplus food sits rotting while millions starve. The ships, manpower, fuel and other resources needed to provide the food to those who are starving exist. The only missing ingredient is the power of the purse.

So .... how does our society address this problem? The price of grains and corn drops below the cost of production which eliminates the surplus over time. Simple.

My wife came from a country where all international shipments of food are sold to the highest bidder from the government and the food is resold on the market making it out of reach for the poor. That's what is going on.

The problem has a familiar name: capitalism. Why give food to people who can't pay for it?
Global warming denialists are like gravity denialists piloting a helicopter, determined to prove a point. We may not have time to actually persuade them of their mistake.

I think the familiar name is greed. Back in old China, the people starved while the rulers were were fat and draped in expensive silks.

    Revelation 6:6 has the answer.
I know Him, correctly, as Messiah whom you call Christ. Yah Shua whom you call Jesus. Messianists who you call Christians.

"Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm".

I refuse, point blank, to speak peace to the unregenerate, hypocrites, religious dogma lovers and those that oppose the following statement:
A regenerate man trusts in the evangelism of salvation conditioned on the atoning blood and imputed justness of Messiah alone.
If you are fully persuaded, by experience, of this delightful, beautiful and life giving doctrine then I love you as a brother.

Anyone who thinks that salvation is conditioned on anything a man thinks, does or says is atheist. I cannot and will not speak peace to him or her.

I don't make statements online that I wouldn't repeat in front of my Maker, my grandmother or a judge.

With liberty. People should be free to buy and sell as they see fit, rather than being controlled by socialist constructs.

    Simple?

You want to regulate prices, which drives businessmen out of trade and into political maneuvering, exacerbating the problem.

They can't pay for it because of the oppressive left.

This is a non sequitur. The problem in OP is described as waste amid starvation.

War? Corruption is why many in third world countries are starving to death. See Africa and Venezuela and Haiti for exmples.

So tell us how lowering the price of corn, gets the corn to the people past the corrupt rulers?

"Around the country, progressive bullies have attacked Christians for daring to put their faith ahead of the pet causes of those who feign compassion while destroying life-giving liberties. What we are seeing is a scorched-earth, take-no-prisoners approach as the wildfire burns across our land. It is not enough that Christians be quiet. Christians must be silenced and punished. Their faith cannot be respected. Legislation that ensures people are free to live and work according to their faith without fear of being punished by government must be stopped and decried as discrimination...There is one key reason that those on the Left must force their beliefs on the rest of us: if they didn't force their craziness on us, we would never embrace it." ~Erick Erickson

I know, i wanted to provide examples and then ask her to tell us how making corn cheaper solves the real problem.

Isn't corn already subsidized in the US? I thought that was a big part of what makes our food so much cheaper here than in the rest of the world.

Why are we still putting corn into our gas tanks when evidence says that it isn't actually doing anything useful?
